Well, what's the longer wait, 8 months through a normal offseason, or 34 days between games that have even the slightest amount of doubt as to who will win? I think this next month is going to be almost as bad as the offseason. The offseason doesn't have football but you know that. This next month is prime football season, but does anything Texas does really matter? I guess maybe a little bit. The offensive line can work to find cohesion but this was a unit that was pretty good. Arch can get reps but we've already seen him be really good against crappy teams last year, so, this won't be anything new. A really talented freshman class can get a ton of snaps to see where they are at, while our good players can play just enough to keep their edge sharp. I mean, I guess it's football at DKR and we only get so many of those games so you should enjoy it, but it's hard to have the juices flowing too terribly much with this slate upcoming. The SEC going to 9 conference games with a required 10th game against a P4 team is just so so so welcome to me.
I'd rather play and lose a game like yesterday 11 times out of 10 then this dreck we have on our scheudule. I hope (and expect) games like that to continue going into the future, and I'd also like to see no more than 1 truly outmatched team as opposed to 3 in a row. Mid major interesting team, Big OOC matchup against a blue blood, cupcake (UTEP or some other shit UT System school), bye, conference schedule. That would be a perfect September to me going forward. This September is rather something to endure.
Thoughts on game week against SJSU spartans (I think- didn't look it up- don't care enough to) go here.
