  1. I think my favorite along these lines is the Tommy Tuberville one where he’s out at dinner with recruits at a restaurant in Lubbock, gets a call and steps away from the table to take it. The call is from Cincinnati offering him the job there. Tuberville accepts the job and scoots out the back door, leaving the players sitting at the table with some assistant coaches. https://www.usatoday.com/story/gameon/2012/12/12/tommy-tuberville-texas-tech-cincinnati/1763615/
  2. Bryce Anderson and Derek Williams would be a hell of a starting safety duo next season.
  3. I’m just amazed that @GreenspointTexas hasn’t been here shilling Willie Fritz for the ATM job. You’re letting me down!
  4. Jimbo was always double plus ungood. Everyone knew this. New coach is infallible.
  5. Loftis looked pretty good last night against UNC. Looking at Elko physically last night, I worry about his health going forward. That guy is carrying a ton of bad weight. He’s bigger than Mack by a lot at a much younger age. He’s not in Mangino at KU territory yet, but he’s at least Chris Christie (no CR) or Bob Huggins size.
  6. Enrollment numbers about to hit 80,000 in the next couple years.
  7. That’s fair, and I’m sure the defense was loading up to stop the run so the 1-1 opportunities were there outside, but we have to find w at to bleed the clock better when we are up big in the second half. I never seen a team that squanders so many big leads. Still happy to be 9-1.
  8. How do you square this with the deep shots we were taking on our first drive of the third quarter that we started on our 2 yd line? That brings up another disagreement with a lot of people about last night. Sark didn’t “turtle” in the second half, as we used that term with Tom Herman. He didn’t try to play conservative and play not to lose. In the third quarter he did the opposite and that’s my criticism of Sark. My criticism is that maybe we should have played more conservatively once we got a 20 point lead. Why are we playing a hurry up offense, throwing the ball downfield and snapping the ball with 20-25 seconds left on the play clock when we are ahead by 20 points? We were playing like we were the team losing by 20. We seem to be the only team I’ve ever seen that runs the ball effectively in the first half and then can’t grind a defense down with the running game in the second half.
  9. Lol, never in doubt
  10. And just like that
  11. Even our punter is choking now
  12. Bert “Nails” Auburn
  13. This game is shaping up nicely for us to score more than 30 but no more than 40 once again.
  14. 26-6. They’ve got us right where they want us.
  15. Man, I never realized Colonel Sanders was a real colonel.
  16. He did. The IT guys confirmed it in the post game live stream.
  17. Going 12-1 and winning the Big 12 Championship on our way out the door in year 3 of Sark’s tenure = “we’re screwed.” Got it.
  18. Last ATM win on the road against a ranked opponent was at Auburn in 2014.
  19. Diamonte Tucker Dorsey said on Monday’s livestream that Maalik has “the it factor” and that the whole team rallies around him. He also said that the defense is content to let opposing passing games complete crossing routes in front of them because that’s the design of the defense.
  20. KSU and ISU are really the only two games that worry me. KSU is the better team of the two, but we seem to have something on them in the series lately and the game is at home. Plus they don’t run the kind of passing offense that can exploit our injured/deficient secondary and mediocre pass rush. ISU is the one that worries me. They are starting to sling it around and we’ll be on the road in the cold.
  21. Worth noting that Mac Jones came in about this time in the Alabama 2019 season with Sark as OC after Tua got hurt against Tennessee. Let’s hope Maalik has been as well prepared as Mac was.
  22. That’s how Miami lost to GT
