  1. Put him in the bathroom!
  2. UNC got screwed twice at the end of the half
  3. Here’s how I imagine many of those 15 interviews going: Coach - You still giving out those $9 million/year, 10 year guaranteed contracts? Bjork - No, we learned our lesson on those. Coach - :hangs up:
  4. You could basically get a twofer with Elko because they could promote Robinson to DC with Elko keeping a hand in the defense.
  5. I listened to the On Second Thought podcast interview with Olin Buchanan so the rest of you don’t have to. Notes: Jimbo failed because the offense was dated and too complicated. Hints that offense against Miss St was alllowing Petrino to fully run it for the first time. Looking for in new coach - recruiting machine, offensive minded, organizational skills. Offensive mind doesn’t eliminate Elko depending on his vision for the offense and getting in great OC Is Elko leader in the clubhouse? Can’t say, hearing so many names right now, mentions Urban and Dan Campbell (or even Aaron Glenn). Jeff Traylor brought up by Bohls,Buchanan says they might even keep ERob (what has hiring the big names gotten you?), compares ERob to what Clemson did with Dabo. Dan Lanning is too expensive Bohls pushing Traylor, says he’s like RC, Buchanan doesn’t disagree. Buchanan downplaying the big name hire because they haven’t worked before, seems like he’s really pushing this narrative to lower expectations about the name when announced ATM has all the pieces in place, get a coach who wants to be there (like Traylor). You’re welcome.
  6. I think the reaching out to Dan Campbell was obligatory just to check the box that they had done it. Liepold and Klieman seems like the two remaining reasonable prospects that would be the best options for them, and both are hardly “can’t miss” prospects..
  7. That’s basically what RC’s record was.
  8. Traylor seems like he’d do similar to RC. A good coach that fields competitive teams and may get lucky one year and win a division title after Saban has retired. In the 12 team CFP system, I can see them making the field a couple of times. I have a hard time seeing them win the SEC or get beyond a first round game in the playoffs. Basically a 9-3 average (record) coach. Maybe I’m being generous.
  9. Goddamnit, this bit cracks me up every time
  10. Thank you, Howard
  11. He mentions Kliff Kingsbury twice when discussing possible candidates.
  12. These things never go well: https://www.knoxnews.com/story/sports/college/university-of-tennessee/football/2021/10/13/lane-kiffin-press-conference-tennessee-football-coach-ole-miss/6033135001/
  13. And served over spaghetti
  14. I think my favorite along these lines is the Tommy Tuberville one where he’s out at dinner with recruits at a restaurant in Lubbock, gets a call and steps away from the table to take it. The call is from Cincinnati offering him the job there. Tuberville accepts the job and scoots out the back door, leaving the players sitting at the table with some assistant coaches. https://www.usatoday.com/story/gameon/2012/12/12/tommy-tuberville-texas-tech-cincinnati/1763615/
  15. Bryce Anderson and Derek Williams would be a hell of a starting safety duo next season.
  16. I’m just amazed that @GreenspointTexas hasn’t been here shilling Willie Fritz for the ATM job. You’re letting me down!
  17. Jimbo was always double plus ungood. Everyone knew this. New coach is infallible.
  18. Loftis looked pretty good last night against UNC. Looking at Elko physically last night, I worry about his health going forward. That guy is carrying a ton of bad weight. He’s bigger than Mack by a lot at a much younger age. He’s not in Mangino at KU territory yet, but he’s at least Chris Christie (no CR) or Bob Huggins size.
  19. Enrollment numbers about to hit 80,000 in the next couple years.
  20. That’s fair, and I’m sure the defense was loading up to stop the run so the 1-1 opportunities were there outside, but we have to find w at to bleed the clock better when we are up big in the second half. I never seen a team that squanders so many big leads. Still happy to be 9-1.
  21. How do you square this with the deep shots we were taking on our first drive of the third quarter that we started on our 2 yd line? That brings up another disagreement with a lot of people about last night. Sark didn’t “turtle” in the second half, as we used that term with Tom Herman. He didn’t try to play conservative and play not to lose. In the third quarter he did the opposite and that’s my criticism of Sark. My criticism is that maybe we should have played more conservatively once we got a 20 point lead. Why are we playing a hurry up offense, throwing the ball downfield and snapping the ball with 20-25 seconds left on the play clock when we are ahead by 20 points? We were playing like we were the team losing by 20. We seem to be the only team I’ve ever seen that runs the ball effectively in the first half and then can’t grind a defense down with the running game in the second half.
  22. Lol, never in doubt
  23. And just like that
  24. Even our punter is choking now
