  1. So do you think the 39 point swing in the results with UF were a result of the game being on the road? Or the 14 and 15 point swings with UK and MSU, respectively? I definitely think getting back home after 6 weeks away will give us a boost, and I’m generally bullish on our chances this week, but there’s a lot more going on with the different outcomes against those teams year over year than just playing them on the road.
  2. The concern is not Vandy so much as the fact that we have just played arguably the two worst teams in the conference and gone to overtime with both of them. Vandy is at least a middle of the pack SEC team this year, so there is concern. Last year’s result against them doesn’t show a bad matchup for us, but remember we blew out Florida, UK, and MSU last year and this year . . . we did not.
  3. After seeing this phenomenon play out since the calls for Shannon Kelly over Brett Stafford I have concluded that it is a psychological defense mechanism of thinking that there is a quick and easy fix (just sub out the starter for the guy on the bench!) rather than facing the hard reality that you probably need to stack up 3-4 great recruiting classes to make meaningful change in results.
  4. The audio is really something. That governor is straight out of The Waterboy
  5. Florida has great talent, they just have to share it with FSU and Miami (and UGA and Bama on their border). LSU has traditionally put a fence around the state when they are rolling. Per capita, Mississippi may be one of the best states for producing talent, they just have only 3 million people in the whole state.
  6. Wingo has some skills, but someone that big and strong should be a terror on 50/50 balls and I can’t remember ever seeing him go up and get one.
  7. Would like to see if Mosley continues to step up after a couple of games back from injury. That game winning catch was one of the very few extra-effort catches our WR’s have made this year. Wingo would have watched it sail past him.
  8. Diego Bagadonuts’ Heisman campaign will sleep with the fishes after this weekend
  9. I’m in the same boat. Of our three upcoming top 10 opponents, I feel the best about this one. Getting back home after 6 weeks has got to provide a boost. can’t promise anything beyond that.
  10. Or Clemson, or LSU
  11. I wouldn’t write off Tennessee and the playoffs just yet. More likely than not they won’t, that sieve of a defense will probably cost them another game, but their offense will score on everyone left on their schedule. They will have to break the curse that UF has on them, but this may be the year where it happens given the mental state of that program right now. I also think by the last game of the year Vandy may be running on fumes.
  12. Feel free to post all the clips of his incompletions, Debbie Downer
  13. Good news, Arch playing Saturday!
  14. Interesting comparison of the UF vs. LSU jobs
  15. I’ve never seen anything like this, certainly not with a 6-2 team
  16. He can but you don’t want to have him running too much because we are one bad hit away from KJ Lacey playing
  17. Gerry Hamilton made the point this morning that he thought Florida was a better job than LSU in the NIL era because they are much better funded. That kid who grew up in Lafayette wanting to be a Tiger who would get a lease on a Dodge Charger or his mon getting a secretary job from a booster, is now getting offered $800k to leave the state. Basically that Florida is more capable of meeting the modern roster payroll than LSU is. I don’t know, but Gerry would have a better feel for it. The conventional wisdom seems to be that LSU is better.
  18. Jeff Brohm has done well at Purdue and Louisville. But like Dillingham, Key, and Lea, he’s already at his Alma Mater.
  19. This was pretty good, responding to Venables saying that OU had the better team on Saturday
  20. I was wondering this myself. If that happens we are likely in against Alabama.
  21. That doesn’t sound at all like Surly. Next you’ll be telling me I shouldn’t bother reading the last 100 pages of the Quinn Ewers thread.
  22. We all needed this. I’ll be damned if I ever go into a game against Vanderbilt expecting to lose. This season is a week to week proposition and I think coming home makes a difference. No predictions on the rest of the season, but we circle the wagons and beat them down this Saturday.
  23. I heard on Andy Staples’ show that Mark Stoops has a buyout of $37 million payable within 30 days of termination. I could not fathom being a Kentucky football fan (assuming they exist) and knowing I was locked into long term purgatory with that dude as my coach.
