  1. A long and proud tradition in SoCal:
  2. Good Lord, it looks like a city in Ukraine that’s been taking artillery fire from the Russians:
  3. Damn. I really liked the Marmalade Cafe that’s right next door.
  4. The Marcus Licinius Crassus FD is at your service . . . for the right price.
  5. Exactly. I don’t know if she is just that dense, or ESPN required her and Finebaum to take different sides of the issue and she drew the short straw. On Franklin, the question was just about the Cotton Bowl matchup, not the whole final four, but I’d agree about him.
  6. Watching the press conference of LA City and County officials right now and the Sheriff just warned against looting
  7. The lululemon store in the Malibu Village Mall better batten down the hatches
  8. I have often thought of our offense like a finely tuned Ferrari, runs like a dream when it’s well-maintained but frequently breaks down and is in the shop. Speaking of Finebaum, the ESPN morning show was on one of the TV’s while I was at the gym this morning and Mike Greenberg asked Finebaum and Heather Dinich which coach had the most pressure on them this game. Dinich said it was “100% on Sark” because the SEC has been bad in the playoffs and Texas is carrying the banner of the conference. To his credit, Finebaum respectfully disagreed with that ridiculous assessment.
  9. Damn, this is all so devastating. We took a family vacation in March of 2023 and stayed at a beautiful AirBnB house in Las Flores Canyon, just up the mountain from Duke’s on the PCH. It’s probably gone now. Ate at the Reel Inn mentioned above. Hope the Getty Villa survives. @Sbbruin @Foosters @henrygandorf and anyone else in that area, good luck to you all and stay safe!
  10. Love this movie. I am slightly younger than this time frame, but it very much captured the frat house vibe of a bunch of young guys living in the same house back then.
  11. I’m watching KCAL and they just had the LAFD spokesperson on who asked all off duty firefighters to come in to assist. They said it hasn’t rained in downtown LA since May, which is crazy.
  12. Maybe they weren’t interviewed at that time, but yeah, they needed that chip in the rematch against UGA after their first performance.
  13. I don’t think he’s acting here, but this is very well delivered. I’m sure some on this thread may not feel as warm and fuzzy about Jerry’s familial employment decisions, however.
  14. The Reverse Mudhole post. Is this a first?
  15. Can I interest you in the geographical growing area of Saguaro cacti?
  16. I know. Kind of like the strange new respect I developed for Lincoln Riley after he left OU and took a bunch of players with him.
  17. I’ve heard over the years about how pissed Penn State is over Texas being declared the champion by Nixon, but didn’t know they turned down a chance to play the UT-Ark in the Cotton Bowl. So fuck them.
  18. That is so frustrating. I realize we give up some push and physicality with Majors and Conner in exchange for experience and cohesion, but Campbell should be a friggin’ road grader at his size and in his third year.
  19. What’s the record for most schools in a CFB career? JT Daniels has to be up there.
  20. Milroe looks like Tebow with a better arm. Which might make him Anthony Richardson.
  21. I know every team at this part of the season can engage in this exercise to some extent, but just think of how much more consistent and efficient this offense would have been with a healthy Baxter and Bond all year. I think if we had Cam Williams for the ASU game it would have helped our run game enough to stave off the late comeback. College football has always been a war of attrition, but now that it takes 17 games to win a national championship, consistently great recruiting to build depth is more important than ever. We’ve just stacked four straight top-5 classes, so we are well-positioned to keep competing at the highest level going forward.
