  1. OU's former quarterback, who was either pushed out for Jackson Arnold or who had the foresight to leave the sinking ship SS Sooner Schooner, just beat Ohio State. One wonders how different the game would have been today with Gabriel behind their patchwork line.
  2. It was fun listening to the OU radio "postgame" interview with Domanic Williams, who ended up being a captain on their team. He was all like, "This will never happen again," and if people didn't want to be in the locker room they needed to get out. Dude choose poorly and I am here for it. Enjoy your Poulan Weed Eater Bowl ... if you even make that.
  3. Helm was key to getting Quinn going today. He has been amazing this year. Playing himself into being a top 5 TE in the NFL Draft.
  4. Jackson Arnold must really, really, really suck.
  5. Bug Mountain is fucking awesome.
  6. Clearly Jonah was pointing at Sark during his football game to let him know where his seats were. Because like any good aggy, Jonah knows it's just good manners to help visitors to find their seats.
  7. Texas, Texas Yee- Hah, those Sooners really suck Mudhole to the face
  8. I very much look forward to this thread every week, thanks @texifornia! If I can sober up after the Red River Bloodbath, the evening slate of games looks amazing.
  9. Mudhole. 41-10. Fuck off back to your shitty state, sooners.
  10. Hold on, there's someone under 40 years old who posts on Surly Horns? Also, insightful stuff, thanks for sharing!
  11. GET BAKED MUTHAFUCKAS
  12. Brauny said 75 percent was on the "optimistic side of things." From an Aggy perspective, that's exactly right. If they're lucky, there's only a 75 percent chance he flips to Texas.
  13. I liked Mike Leach because he kicked aggy's ass and then dragged his nuts over their traditions. Also, because he was a character. But mostly, the nut dragging.
  14. Holy shit, Tarp said three censors (has to be in the sports information department at the Republic of Aggystan) had to review his practice reports before they went public. That. Is. Insane. We joke about the Iraqi information minister and College Station, but Elko really is a tinpot dictator who wants to control his little fiefdom in every conceivable way. This is going to blow up spectacularly. While some of the Aggy "press corps" will go along with it until the end, when the wheels start to come off many of the reporters who have chafed under these unreal restrictions are going to go full-Tarp. And the wheels are going to start coming off. I think it's possible that Aggy goes 8-4, or maybe even 9-3, which isn't a bad season for a first year coach. But with Texas lighting shit up in Austin, that won't be nearly good enough. There will be demands for similar performance in the Station. And there's no way Elko can deliver with the crap sandwich he's running out there. It's going to be glorious.
  15. We're ruining everything for them, and I am here for it. Cannot wait for the coup de grâce on Nov. 30.
  16. It was mid-morning on a cold day in late February. As was his custom following a good night's sleep in an open field of grass, The Elk was seated at a well-appointed picnic table hard by the Brazos River, breaking his fast. Pausing to wipe barbecue sauce from his chin, The Elk told his strength and conditioning coach to superintend not just the physical makeup of their players, but also to work on the mental side of things. An Ivy League coach learns these things, and knows these things. "We need them to be tough and smart," The Elk said, while grazing on a well-lathered rack of ribs. He paused for a few moments to let these words of wisdom sink in, and to gobble three more ribs, before continuing. "The best teams adopt their coach's mindset," The Elk added, washing down his repast with a few fingers of Dewars. It was a well laid trap for his unsuspecting prey. The Elk would strengthen his herd, and trample all foes that coming fall. There was but one weakness in this plan. Tommy Moffitt had forgotten his hearing aids that morning, as he scrambled out of bed. And so, after being dismissed from his audience with The Elk, Moffitt repeated his new instructions over and over again that morning. "The best teams adopt their coach's midriff," Moffitt mumbled. "The best teams adopt their coach's midriff." He didn't understand why, but who was he to question the great Elk?
  17. FYI here was Dillon Gabriel last week:
  18. Yes, but the quarterback was Superman.
  19. I don't need to see any more Blue today.
  20. I believe ArmyBrat was the inspiration for this book and movie.
