Worst mistake an opponent may make against Texas is to injure the QB.
I can see it now. SEC lineman blasting into the backfield then gently laying Ewers on the ground, brushing away pebbles and trash first, maybe placing a quilt.

Warning - typical over analysis of the spring game based on about 3 plays, and play from last year too.
We are now well into the Ewers era. As I compare him in the pocket to Owens and Manning, he just doesn’t seem quite as “natural”, whatever that really means.
As an example, Murphy always looked very robotic and unsure in the pocket. It was obvious. Ewers obviously looked wayyyy better than that, and of course led the team to the big 12 title. But he just doesn’t look quite as comfortable as other top QB’s. I can’t verbalize what exactly the issue is.
He has a strong arm, but does he lack some athleticism that holds him back? Is he mentally still not there? Something doesn’t feel right. Maybe he’s just maxed out his talent and mental acuity. Maybe it’s nothing and he will be spectacular next year. There were some spectacular plays during the year. Maybe we see a lot more this year to put the question to bed once and for all.

What the hell is Taeffe doing latching onto Baxter’s leg out of bounds.
edit: next play he tries the slap the ball out of Manning’s hand and Manning pump fakes it into his face.

Conspiracy theory - Sark’s decision to give Manning the majority of snaps is part of his master plan to eventually slide Manning into the QB1 slot.

Cancel all the DT visits. We’re good.

LHN crew is correct in saying the 2024 team has more depth than 2023, but has to show it can replace some extremely good top end talent that went pro.

The Posse East holds legendary status as the place from which Dbeasy got so drunk he could not go pick up his first date with a girl he liked, so he convinced three other drunk friends and one designated driver to go with him to pick her up. Wonderful first impression. That girl? My wife of 35 years. #PERocks.

You must tune in on the same day every time because they only do 1 segment a week on it
Ah that’s it. I have a routine on Friday and I could be just catching them at the same time every time.

I only occasionally tune in from 10-1. Why does it seem like they are constantly talking about craft beers. Yawn.

For Austin homeowners, pay close attention to your overall property value increase or decrease in 2023. I certainly haven’t run comps across the entire city, but most property values should have declined not appreciated in 2023, unless there were special circumstances.
Austin/Travis County put in extra effort in 2022 to get property values around town much better aligned to true values. They were a bit all over the place in years past. If they did that with your property, then values in 2023 should have declined.
Note that your taxable value could still be going up, but limited by the 10% cap. I’m talking about overall property value, not taxable value.
I see a ton of posts with double digit increases in property value, and there really shouldn’t be all that many.

I always want to see this site thriving. The content, the interaction among all ages, the rawness, the effort from so many posters, it’s truly a special place that hasn’t suffered from enshitification, like the rest of the internet.
It actually bothers me when I see posters who’ve gone. As much as Derka sometimes drove me crazy, it would be better for the site if the folks in charge would reconsider. But then, I don’t know the whole story.

When I see nonsense like what sheeeeit posted it just makes me wonder how people can be so gullible and dumb.

Finally watched it. Went in with my cheese ball meter properly calibrated. It was exactly that. I therefore had to watch every minute of it so that I can complain about it later. Actually didn’t recognize McGregor at first because I’m not a mma/ufc fan. His acting was horrific. Dumb movie but watchable if you have the right mindset going in.

Yeah I watch the US10Y closely as well. Put a chunk of an inheritance in Vanguard Inflation Protected Fund several years ago thinking it would just keep pace with inflation and protect the principle. Deposited the funds and forgot about it. First time in my life to put $$ in a "Bond" fund. Went to look at it recently and i'm down $40K and further research indicates it's all tied to the 10yr. That's what I get for deviating from my Index stock fund strategy. Got to wait it out now, its all in an inherited IRA anyway, but got to start taking money soon.
Ya that’s the problem with even inflation bonds. If rates move up, they can lose a lot of money too, and the inflation premiums on the basis may not cover it.

I want to welcome everyone to the island I’ve been inhabiting for awhile now. It’s strange to see almost everyone flip in unison to the realization he is not the future.
I originally thought he would get next year to turn it around, but based on what I’m hearing, I’m not so sure. The depth of the drop off is too much. There are some proud folks that aren’t happy, and I sure hope they follow thru. It’s time.

I have no idea if Lacey sticks, but any QB commit likes the idea of spending a year or two under Sark because it helps their draft stock.
