  1. this loss (just like the OU loss) wasn't on players. It wasn’t on the OL or Casey. it wasn’t on a lack of talent. It wasn’t on holes in the roster that recruiting will magically fix. That was a fucking horrible half of coaching.

For the 2nd week in a row.

Sarkisian and PK have both been absolutely worked over in back to back weeks. Becton’s ass should be held over the coals as well because this team hits the wall and can’t do a fucking thing.

DBs Noah Daniels, Deshawn McCuin, DB Bud Clark- all three seem to be questionable to play. I'm not sure which ones, if any, would be meaningful losses. Maybe @golfclap has something to add there

Daniels is really good when he's healthy but that's almost never. When healthy is a true difference maker but they're probably used to having him out these days. I think Clark would be the biggest impact because of his range and the fact that I know nothing about the guys behind him. I don't even know who Onyemaobi is and you know I follow this shit pretty closely.

Patterson's been underwhelming of late but he has his own statue outside the stadium.  Ways to go before being on real shaky ground.

This is not my perception. At all.

So what.....Recruits, CTJ, and Golfclap are now like Texas High School coaches who get their feelings hurt when Texas goes out of state for better talent?? Seriously?  You two have cried for years for Texas to be more national in it's recruiting.  Sark is doing that and suddenly it's a negative?

Ya'll flip flop worse than NBA players...

WTF are you smoking? IDGAF where the players are from and certainly have never said we shouldn't be in California. Quite the opposite, I've said that we should treat Southern California like an extension of Texas and make it a constant home. We should have a constant presence in that region and should have for decades. There should be kids growing up and waiting to be offered by Texas like a greater Houston or golden triangle kid. You'd be hard-pressed to find a bigger advocate for recruiting that region in our fan base.

Can you not understand that taking Murphy is a risk/reward proposition and that was the discussion? And that his singular recruitment doesn't throw the entire west coast philosophy into the ocean?  One of the impacts that we discussed at length when he committed was that the skill players in this state don't have an existing relationship with him, nor do they have a grasp on his mentality, his skillset, his personality, etc ... I said that it was going to create problems with momentum and retention - and it has. This staff has decided that his upside is worth the downside of the loss of momentum and retention of players (specifically WR/TE) in this class. That's the extent of the conversation. Boiled down it's simply that if we had taken an in-state QB there would be more momentum with the in-state kids that have played with or against them for 10+ years.

Got an article about it on TCU 247 board if anyone has it.

    here ::

    Spoiler

One of the state's best is closing in on a college decision. And I like where TCU stands at this point in the process.

Port Arthur (Texas) Memorial Top247 cornerback Jaylon Guilbeau has a final three of Texas, TCU and Texas A&M. A former Longhorns verbal, he reopened the process on July 21. The Horned Frogs have been in great shape since then. On Wednesday afternoon I logged a 247Sports Crystal Ball in favor of Gary Patterson and company. "TCU is just a school that shows love to me and I know they will develop me and put me in the NFL!" Guilbeau recently told 247Sports. "They're that type of school."

Guilbeau is tabbed by the Top247 as the nation's No. 13 cornerback and No. 88 prospect overall. He has been selected to play in the All-American Bowl following his senior season.

247Sports National Analyst Gabe Brooks is high on the 5-foot-11 1/2, 180-pound Guilbeau.

"Possesses good size and great length for a corner. Adequate height with a plus wingspan (6-2). Two-sport athlete who runs track (400 meters). Consistently stays low in backpedal. Willing to mix it up at the line of scrimmage. Disruptive at the catch point, thanks in part to length. Shows encouraging competitiveness when the ball is in the air. Shows an occasional hitch when redirecting. Willing tackler but needs more bulk to maximize arriving power. Testing and track context suggests there's more meat on the bone regarding top-end speed. Good-sized, instinctive corner with good tools. Projects to high-major level with long-term NFL Draft potential given proper development and increased explosiveness."

Klubnik was never coming here. Once Clemson offered it was done. Ewers really fucked us good twice. Weigmann was the guy we should have gone after.

Ewers was gone long before any of this was an issue.

I think Klubnik would be a Horn if they had pursued him. He wasn't offered or even strongly pursued by Clemson until after Saban drug his nuts on Dabo and crew with the Ty Simpson recruitment. Klubnik was offered the same day Simpson committed to Bama which was a full 2 weeks after Murphy's commit to Texas. I suspect that Clemson would've gone all in on Braden Davis if Klubnik had committed to Texas rather than work the flip. Sark simply chose Murphy over Klubnik - a move which a lot of us said would create these exact challenges in terms of recruiting and it's impact with in-state recruits and a new staff trying to make connections. None of this should be a surprise to anyone here.

Texas simply wasn't in a position to take a chance on Weigman choosing baseball and not having a QB in the class at all.

Tre Bradford wouldn't be eligible to play this year, would he? He transferred after the portal deadline, but I guess he could file a waiver.

current status per MarbleMouth today ::

On the same day that LSU running back John Emery was declared unavailable for the rest of the season, Tigers head coach Ed Orgeron offered some positive news at the running back position. Kevontre Bradford is expected to be eligible to return for LSU’s next game.

Bradford began his collegiate career at LSU last season, but transferred to Oklahoma in June. In August, he re-entered the NCAA Transfer Portal and found his way back to Baton Rouge. Orgeron was optimistic about Bradford’s status heading into Week Three. He also mentioned that Armoni Goodwin is questionable.

“John Emery is out the year,” Orgeron said to reporters on Monday. “He’s unavailable. I do believe Armoni Goodwin is questionable for this week. And that’s a shame because I think he’s an outstanding running back. ‘Tre Bradford, as far as I know, will be eligible for the game. We’ll have to see how the week goes, and hopefully we can play him this week.”

Sooo.... anyone live near Marlin and want to take a couple standardized tests and write a few essays this year?

Marlin's standing with TEA isn't exactly going to help in all of this. We've seen far less impactful shit hold up the NCAA clearinghouse.
