  1. I think you and I have discussed this but I think this is where a disconnect between Bedenbaugh and Riley resides. Lateral quickness and explosion is the primary attribute of any BB offer and was evident in every "lower ranked" guy that he successfully developed into a badaass. Guys like Simpson are simply NOT guys that BB offered (or even pursued) in the past but they are exactly like the type of guy that Mumme/Leach/Riley have used in their schemes. Wilkins is a prime example of a BB guy, Leigh was another. I expect the OL to still be really good at OU and the 2020 class looks really strong inside - some really good evals - but it's a tough deal to have guys like Walker, Simpson, (Montgomery) taking up scholarship numbers for 4 or 5 years and not contributing at all puts a ton of pressure on the more athletic OT takes to not only develop but stay healthy. this is a newer problem and I honestly don't know what to make of it but he clearly has limited the rotations at OL. It's weird because when pushed into service this year several of the backup guys looked really good in game, I though when Robinson came out that the OL got better.
  2. While there might be some weight there -- flip the narrative -- the tOSU angle is that Day is 23-1 as a HC with his lone loss coming by 6 points to Clemson in a CFP semifinal and he's in the CCG this season. Sarkisian is 46-35 all time and has only finished ranked twice in his HC career - he's never even won a conference championship despite having the most talented roster, by a large margin, in a bad conference. tOSU roster is loaded well beyond the 2-deep with NFL talent - the Texas roster has got quite a bit of NFL talent but it's not at WR and it's not 4-5 deep. Ewers would be a top tier draft choice if he went to Rice, so the NFL is a chip but winning is clearly a big one. He made a business decision and the decision matched his skill set with an offense and team that is championship ready with weapons all over the field and a young coach entrenched in his role.
  3. NSIAP this fuckface has a goddamn Longhorn logo on the back of his helmet - looks like he might have been fully ID'd but if one of you knows him punch yourself in the fucking dick and then turn his ass in ::
  4. Not sure why isn't just going to the NFL but OT Obinna Eze from Memphis is in the portal - this is gonna be a bloodbath:: https://247sports.com/player/obinna-eze-85538/
  5. Even without his off-the-field shit I don't think Abiara would ever make an impact on the 2-deep at Texas. Esp if we are going to 3-3-5, etc ... Jonathon Jones was the guy that should've been offered as a guy that brings pass rushing presence at the DE spot. The portal is a much more viable option and I expect one of the new D staff members will likely have an existing relationship with a much better option.
  6. He was born in Tuscaloosa. His dad is a Bama alum and they still have family there. Not a very typical Mater Dei kid.
  7. perfect summary. I have zero tolerance for that shitty body language bullshit and far too often Rambo seemed more concerned with letting people know he was unhappy about X with his pouty nonsense than he was with actually producing. The other issue that I see with Rambo is that it doesn't seem like he has good lateral mobility/explosion. If you can scheme him open and let him run, he can freaking go and kill you but he seemed like the least effective of the OU WRs on screens and shorter throws. He's a 4.28 shuttle guy so it might simply be that he hasn't improved much in that area and simply isn't a dynamic athlete as much as he is a fast guy in a straight line.
  8. Austin Thomas. who is now back at LSU, as of 3 days ago. He was at Baylor this past season.
  9. I fucking hate that fat stupid tub of shit.
  10. Is Nahlin on suicide watch after Aranda shitcanned Wickline?
  11. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Hopefully we have some many WR options that he's one of many.
  12. Disagree. Very much so. His lengthy absence from his team this past year are my bigger concern. He absolutely can play WR at the next level - that horseshit about him being a TE was simply that. Horseshit. If his head is on straight I hope Sark gets back in on him. Bama was on him hard when he committed to Texas.
  13. Do you think opposing coaches are going to help put it into that more rosy context? Do you think that it matters? Do you think that Holt's 5-18 record as HC at Idaho helps at all? Look, I get that everyone wants to put a glossy new shine on the hire but I have genuine concerns about Sark's previous runs and I'm not counting on him to turn me into an NFL draft pick. I'm certain that my version is far rosier than how it has been presented to his parents, his coaches, his trainers since Sark's hire was made by several different coaching staffs.
  14. Coffey has very legitimate NFL aspirations. Yes, these kids commit to a university not a coach but there's a huge difference between committing to a guy in Ash that is a good DC and an excellent position coach, a clear conduit to the NFL, and committing to an incoming HC who is an offensive guy that hasn't made a single staff hire. A guy in Sarkisian whose first choice for DC at his first gig (Nick Holt) is currently coaching in Italy. No relationships. No idea who the DC, position coach, or S&C is going to be. If you don't understand his hesitation, I don't know what to tell you. Perfectly stated.
  15. To deflect from the terrible year he’s had as AD. Once again highlighting his own unprofessional behavior. Herman being an unlikable fuckface was known before he was hired here. Losing makes his attitude and behavior untenable. any player that was involved should be shown the fucking door. Hernan being a fuckface is irrelevant —- if they were negatively recruiting against the University of Texas they can take a step back and fuck their own face.
  16. That’s how you end up with Charlie Weiss, Bill O’Brien, Al Groh, Romeo Crennel, Jeremy Pruitt ...
  17. I’m just saying that taking in his two year stint at Alabama and ignoring his 9 years of being on the most toxic staff in college football is simply not doing due diligence. I think there are A LOT of WR coaches that are great teachers or killer recruiters and that avoiding toxicity is paramount in building a new culture. if you ignore his work at Bama and think his work at Memphis/VaTech makes him worthy of being on staff at Texas - that’s the decision. Just like the previous Saban and Bellichek cast-offs - make their case from their work outside the bubble of those perfected cultures. To me it seems like a comfort hire at a spot that has plenty of comparable options without the toxic bullshit.
  18. Holman Wiggins would be a lazy hire and speaks to Sark not understanding the Texas job. No one that was with Fuente for 9 years should be considered. This would be the definition of a comfort hire. Couple him with keeping Drayton and you have a very underwhelming offensive staff with no elite teacher or recruiter in either the RB or WR spots.
