  1. [CSB] I went to high school with Billy. He was a big weather nerd back then too. [/CSB]
  2. Well, I'm just hoping this thing weakens a bit. I'm in Tyler. It's looking like we're just going to be on the clean side of this one, but I'd rather it be a TD by the time it gets here. I just got my yard cleaned up from the freakish, straighline winds that came through here a month ago.
  3. At least the food is good. But still, I moved away from Houston 23 years ago and have no plans to return. I can love it from a distance and from higher ground. Stay safe. My people in west Houston have been without power since about 4 a.m. My sister had a generator on order, but was not scheduled for installation, at the earliest, until September (you know, around the start of hurricane season).
  4. Cross-posted from the Enchiladas thread.
  5. Yeah, the windows will be busted out. Technically, it will be open.

Sorry, but nothing good happens when OU wins.
  7. Nikita looks like Will Ferrel with a sunburn.
  8. Or play Nintendo Jeopardy.
  9. Evacuation route out of Houston for aggy is 610. Also, my buddy texted me from Cancun this morning. He slept through the whole thing, and they didn't lose power.
  10. From a lot farther south these days.
  11. I feel like this is a perfect summary to relate to my kid before he goes to UT in the fall. I'd only add that Austin "used to" always feel a little bit seedy. It was a feature. And there still are places that touch on that, but you have to look for them a bit harder.
  12. Would someone with MS Paint skills please draw a cartoon dick over that hurricane track. Please, and thank you.
  13. From that video, I gather she "sees it."
  14. I haven't checked in a couple of hours, but he's not on the hurricane thread saying Beryl is going to hit South Carolina, is he?
  15. Yeah, I guess once you flip it, it's not an omelette. The work flow accompanying someone's making a French omelette is extremely satisfying for some reason.
  16. "The way you make an omelette reveals your character." -Anthony Bourdain
  17. Disagree with "no substance" and disagree with the notion of its being the "real" way to make an omelette. It's just a very different kind of omelette from the American-style omelette you're describing. Both are good for different reasons. The French omelette can be a challenge to get just right, and that skill often is thought of as the mark of a good chef (at least on a basic level), which was part of what that scene conveys. I've never made one with potato chips on it, but it seems like it would be ridiculously delicious.
  18. This has to be a bit at this point. It did have cheese, not that it needed it. French omelettes are some of the best things.
  19. I'm actually in the minority who enjoyed this season and think it will sit well when the series is wrapped up. But you didn't like Ice Chips? I thought it and the Tina episodes were the best of the season. JLC is fantastic.
