  1. This should tell people all they need to know.
  2. Translation: he reached out to the Trump campaign to get paid in some capacity or otherwise get in on the grift, and they told him to go get his shine box.
  3. I had to look it up, but 2001 to be exact, after the failed "Weiner's Plus" branding. Definitely made a few trips there back in my childhood days.
  4. "We're weird enough." For a while, it was fine. Then Rogan and Elmo came to Austin. Then it got a bit too weird. No mas weird.
  5. It might backfire. And I hear the corporation that stole that phrase from the guy who made the bumper stickers can be a bit litigious. edit: Well, I'll be perusing Amazon for a bit. Lots of merch to sift through. Not sure if this one is edible
  6. Let's hope they don't co-opt the Keep Austin Weird thing. They won't, of course. But the only defense to "weird" is to lean into it, and they can't fathom doing that.
  7. Kamala's already bringing Americans together!
  8. Sorry about your mom. Cancer sucks.
  9. Isn't the whole goal of a NASA to see how high they can get?
  10. I don't know. I have a friend from high school carved out a niche for herself years ago as "The MJ Lawyer." She helped a lot of shops get set up in CO, then moved back to Texas and is working hard in support of the hemp industry. She speculated that once Texas was surrounded by legal states (including Mexico), it would fall. But that hasn't happened from a recreational perspective. They fought like hell last time. This amendment isn't the sort that is wildly popular for a variety of reasons, even with Rs.
  11. Some rep from Lubbock sponsored a bill to amend it. It went to the agriculture committee and never got the vote to get out. There is a strong lobby in support of hemp. It is a huge industry and nice tax revenue for the state. And most of the online companies seem willing to ship anywhere with the idea that it is federally legal and the end-user is responsible for compliance with the laws of his state. If Texas closes the loophole, it's just leaving money on the table because people will just order it online.
  12. Hemp is defined as "0.3% THCD9 by dry weight." They just make the gummy-medium a little bigger. THCA is THC in the flower that has not been set on fire or otherwise sat around long enough or been heated sufficiently to decarboxylate (lose the A). That law is on the radar for amendment in the next legislative session. It died in committee last session. Watching them try to put that toothpaste back in the tube while the internet still exists will be interesting.
  13. "You mean that guy who got coffee for us? I guess I sort of remember him."

    Mad Men

It used to be on IMDBTV, but I guess it went away when Amazon bought it and turned it into Freevee. The next time I want to watch it, I'll probably just buy a season at a time from Google/Youtube.
  15. Well, if he ever changes his name to Bassett, we'll know why.
  16. I don't know how he will have the stamina after gargling Trump's saggy old balls all day.
  17. He doesn't care, as long as they, in fact, buy it. Always be grifting.
  18. Well look who crawled out from under the couch.
  19. Post some pictures of this year's BBQ if you don't mind. That sounds awesome!
  20. Well, I guess I didn't get the memo? And I'll be 51 this year and am smack dab in the middle of GenX.
  21. Thanks for taking my quip and turning it into a good point. As a 50 year old member of GenX (meh), I was really enthusiastic about voting for Obama (twice), but I never saw him as a deity like so many of the Boomers, Silents, and "Greatest" generations saw Reagan. That level of politician-worship is a good comparison. I just don't think it is a single generational thing when it comes to Trump. It's just shitty people across a lot of generations.
