I've lived in all 4 of the major cities in Texas and would choose SA over any of them. Austin has changed too much in the 10 years since I moved from there and I'm not a huge fan of Dallas. Houston is ok (The Woodlands), but I would prefer to live in the Hill Country. As soon as it's feasible, we are moving to the area north of SA, probably somewhere around Bulverde or Blanco.
The Woodlands isn't Houston. More South Dallas.

If the women go to Harrod's (and Harvey Nick's), then you can go to the Churchill Arms. It is a really cool pub, and sort of in the area.

Louis ran off with Ophelia. Todd probably went back to that whore Constance Frye!

Getting a couple of things planned for Amalfi and Rome.
On June 16th, when we drive down, we are still thinking of things to see since we need to waste some of the day. Thinking about Monte Cassino and Caserta.
On June 18th, we are doing the cruise along the coast. We have a private boat and a skipper from 9 am to 5 pm, with prosecco. YAY!
On June 21st, we are doing a day trip to Capri.
On June 23rd, that night, we are doing the night tour of the Colesseum including the underground and the arena floor.
On June 25th, we are doing an early morning tour of the Vatican, to be able to go into the Sistine Chapel before it opens.
That is all I have planned so far for that part of the trip.
Still planning things in Provence and Paris.

That Gros has Pinot on the label. Not sure I've ever seen that from a Cote D'Or bottling, although I admit to not drinking a ton of Burgundy. Is that unusual or am I just dumb?

Just a little bit about the winery.
Basically, this wine is grapes from two parcels in Pommard and one in Burgundy, thus its declassification. I have been looking for A-F Gros wines, and this was the first time I had a chance to have any. It was absolutely great.

Went to the Midnight in Paris wine tasting at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse in the Galleria on Friday.
The best wine of the evening was this Domaine A-F Gros.
When I was in Paris last Spring, I looked for A-F Gros wines, and could not find any of them. This wine was absolutely stunning.
The next best wine of the night came from St. Emilion.
And then finally, we were hungry after all the wine, and decided to stay for dinner. They had a bottle of Cotes du Luberon which was really quite tasty.

So, it was working fine. Then suddenly, Bam, cannot use Tapatalk. Halp!

A friend is now joining me for most of the Provence leg (potentially all of it). Due to that, we are going to spend the 26 and 27th in Cassis. The first day, we are going to do a boating tour of the Calanques (do the boat trip of all 9) then visit the wineries in the afternoon. Dinner will be that night in Aix-en-Provence. Then on the 27th, we are going to get up bright and early and head back down to Cassis. Going to hike the Calanques so we can picnic and swim in Calanque d'En-Vau. I assume we will be spent after that hike, so we will head back to Aix-en-Provence.
Have been researching wineries near Cassis. Have found a number of them, but honestly, have no idea. If anyone has any thoughts, it would be appreciated.
The wineries around Cassis include:
Clos Sainte-Magdeleine
Domaine du Paternel
Château de Fontcreuse
Domaine du Bagnol

How does it even work? I would think she has first amendment protections as an employee of a public school. I am a pretty big first amendment guy and think it would be wrong for the school to fire her. For pretty much the same reason why I truly believe OU violated the constitutional rights of those frat guys that were recorded singing that racist song on a bus when OU expelled them.
I do not want her fired nor did I want those students expelled. Government should not be choosing which speech it wants to punish under these circumstances. Shame these idiots on social media though.

I agree with you. That is why I am saying I hope they do not review her for the remarks. Now, her linking a phone number that caused issues with people getting help, especially if someone hurt themselves because they were unable to get assistance due to her idiocy, then that is a different story IMO.
And yes, she should be lambasted in the court of public opinion. What happened to the view of if you don't have something nice to say, just don't say anything at all?

A whale cunt?

That professor absolutely had every right to say what she said, whether you like it or not. What it shows is her absolute lack of tact or common decency. I hope they do not fire her for those remarks.
However, posting that ASU suicide hotline number was irresponsible, and THAT should be addressed.
Long and short, Jarrar is a cunt of the first order. I am embarrassed that she is a woman. Fuck her.

RIP. Barbara Bush was an amazing woman. She will be missed.

RIP to a wonderful, wonderful woman.

Ok, so for the Calenques tours from Cassis, does anyone have a recommendation? I was hoping we would get to swim from the boat, but reading that that may not be possible anymore.

No shit, there are places on the coasts that have better sushi. That doesn't make Uchi overrated. It's one of the top restaurants in Austin probably equivalent to a 1 Michelin star restaurants in areas where Michelin sends judges. It's rated about exactly what it should be.
You obviously missed this post, which I was replying to.I heard Landry from FNL on the Nerdist podcast recently and he said Uchi has the best sushi, and that includes NY and LA. Can anyone confirm it's really that good?
-
Yes, I did Omakase at them. Check out Cagen and Sushi Nakazawa in NYC.
In LA, Nozawa Bar and Matsuhisa.

Uchi is good, but there are a number of LA and NYC spots that blow it out of the water.

I was in Athens in May 2016.
Mani Mani was the first restaurant I went to. It doesn't have a view, but the food is phenomenal. http://manimani.com.gr/english.html
I had posted photos of the whole meal back on the other site, but here was the highlight of the meal.
Pork tenderloin with orzo served with manouri (soft cheese), figs with honey
& almond sauce.Definitely worth a visit.
Stani dairy bar is definitely a must visit. Get the yogurt.
Kuzina was another restaurant I was able to visit while in Athens. This was the view from my table. https://www.kuzina.gr/en/home
Main course of the night was the 12 hour roast pork.
Also had a memorable meal at Hytra and one of the many Greek Tavernas. Honestly, some of the best food is found at the neighborhood tavernas.

Last year, I was miserable from January to mid-June. Had a lot of issues in Paris in late April as well.
This year, was good to go until yesterday, then BAM! Today, been using Mucinex nose spray and Benadryl. Absolutely knackered. -
Well, that was a nice one.

Delacroix Exhibit just started at the Louvre. You're welcome.

I'm all for voter suppression, providing we are only suppressing stupid people. Of course, that would mean 90% of our population would not be eligible to vote.

Let’s talk about living in San Antonio

Personally, I think Houston is the cream of the crop in Texas. Yeah, the weather sucks. So does the traffic, but it is the only city in Texas that can compete with New York, Chicago, and LA in terms of diversity, culture (think Museums and Performing Arts), restaurants and bars.
Signed someone who lived in LA and NYC and now is proud to call Houston home.
