  1. Im on the opposite side so maybe that impacts my perspective.
  2. From an outside perspective, he has the structure of the program in great shape. I’m not sure there’s anyone out there that is better suited for long term success.
  3. It was the oddest injury I’ve ever seen. Not a big hit. He tried to drag/pull himself up but it just wouldn’t work. He was down for a long time then walked straight to the locker room without any help. But his walk didn’t give the impression that he’d return.
  4. I don’t recall the Hellraisers either. The replays were better. Some more Longhorn band and you’re getting close to having right.
  5. Pff shows him as having 1 defensive snap. I never saw him back in there but easily could have missed it.
  6. Well it was tied, they had momentum, and the dude had no prior reps.
  7. I’m not hating on him. QB is no doubt important. We did beat the 2nd/3rd best team on our schedule without him though. He played great versus Bama. He had a poor start versus OU. He finished well. I’m not ready to say he’s better than Sam. I know Sam will have played with less talent and that more was on his shoulders. Probably considerably so. His best is yet to come, particularly if he returns next year. He’s improved since last year. I’ve certainly never said our opponents don’t respect our passing game. I’ve merely questioned the assertion that they’re willing to concede bunches of rushing yards to do that. I’ve watched a few plays from 2022 and 2023. KSU moves around on D presnap quite a bit. It’s not like ksu was playing press man versus Murphy. The numbers say he’s excellent in the intermediate range but considerably less so in the deep and short passing areas. His numbers are top tier behind the LOS. Our Oline metrics show that we’re good at pass blocking - pressure rate is top 5 or so best. He gets sacked at a high rate per pressure because he’s trying to make things happen. But he’s made some runs because of it. He’s missed a few opportunities for big plays when escaping the pocket. We have as good of skill talent as anyone in the country on that side of the ball. This will be the last post here but…… Make no mistake, if he wins, I win.
  8. A screenshot representing less than 2% of plays in two different years against two different formations a t different points in the game is not convincing. I don’t expect screen shots of every play but didn’t ask for any other. That’s not even to say I don’t appreciate the effort.
  9. Your mind is made up. I understand. But what you’ve provided is two screen shots. One with a single WR on each side. One with 2 and none. One 1st quarter. One 4th quarter. That certainly doesn’t prove whether KSU is treating us differently than any other team because it provides no insight into how they handle others or whether that is simply different formations. As I mentioned, I don’t doubt that many teams would dare an inexperienced QB to beat them. I did go back and watch OU. It looked like a good balanced game plan - no real favoring of run or pass but rather unpredictable. Some single high, some two safety. QE is great at the intermediate game. He has a unique attribute or two. You’d have his children if that were possible. I got it.
  10. This ties in a bit to the dumbassery I referenced in the worst era of football. Some were roided up and inflexible. Some were just inflexible. Many were not maximized for speed and agility. Whoever was that dude in the state of Texas that opened it up and introduced speed kills should be inducted into all Halls of Fame.
  11. That’s a bit misleading. But congrats to the Buffs being 2-1 against other first year coaches.
  12. Of all the assholes to single out why me? Maybe I was just hoping he’d reach out to the coaches and see how that goes.
  13. Since you have all the answers please reach out to the coaches and inform them they are screwing up.
  14. Good teams largely do what they do. They’ll all game plan for the opposing teams strengths relative to their strengths/weaknesses though. KSU is a good team that is likely to work their game. Since it didn’t happen, I don’t know what they’d do. Bijan ran for 200 last year. Roschon ran for 177 the prior year. We ran for 230 this year. Their Dline does not match up well in the run game versus us. They don’t pass rush either for that matter. Generally speaking teams load up against backups and dare them. I cannot automatically sign off on KSU conceding 200 plus rushing yards either. Make that 300 since you presumed they changed what they do to shut down Bijan yet failed anyway.
  15. It is not known what KSU does with QE in there because they didn’t play him. What Bama did almost 15 years ago is irrelevant to what they’d do this year.
  16. All QBs not just 99%. Do you believe that Bama and OU game planned to allow the run in favor of pass defense? The 2.8 YPC versus Bama indicates otherwise. So you make it seem that everyone is so scared of Ewers that every team is doing something different. That’s not really true. TCU and ISU ran their stuff did they not? KSU got lit up. We don’t know that is because Murphy was playing.
  17. I never said otherwise. The #1 objective is to win. We are more talented than all but Bama on our schedule. QE is part of that talent. When we’re on fire, he’s generally part of that. When we’re not, he’s part of it too. We also scored 30 points versus KSU while pissing down our leg. We’ve had a ton of injuries. We’re a team in every sense of that word. That’s our strength. As for the gamer comment, I’m looking at it from an NFL prospect consideration. Down by 6 with a minute left. Down by 3 with 30 seconds. Down by say 38-26 with 5 minutes left. There is not much there at this time. I’m not sure they’ll say wow you beat .500 ISU and TCU on the road with a more talented roster, but it was his elevated play that carried them to victory. Don’t confuse that with the fact that we just need to win. I’d prefer looking great but will take winning ugly.
  18. He’s got 4 potential 1st rounders on offense with him along with Brooks and #1 recruit Baxter. Worthy is open all the damn time. We won 2 games without him including against possibly the second best team on our schedule. You are right. He did lead a final drive vs ISU. 9 runs, 2 passes. A great grab by Bijan on one, and Worthy absolutely abusing the DB in the other. Maybe he did versus Baylor too. He doesn’t carry the fucking team and that’s a disservice to every other member of that team that does their
  19. Bama we basically ran it out the last 7 minutes. He had a nice finish the drive before. The throw to end TCU depends on perspective. Mitchell was wide open and made a great catch. He was good last night but protection was too and receivers were open. Like MM or not, we scored late to beat Houston and got the late FG versus KSU to take the lead after he made the big throw to Sanders on 4th. I don’t think there’s enough yet to consider him a gamer.
  20. To some degree, but there is so much more data available these days. People won’t like it, but he’s trying to be more of a game manager this year. It’s working. His completion percentage is up but average depth of target is down 20% or so. His long ball numbers lack, he doesn’t suffer from lack of weapons, coaching or a system. He’s not pressured at all high rate and his passing has a high play action rate. His pros are arm and potential for anticipation. His cons are durability and lack of proving to lead a team/carry them. I don’t recall him leading a game winning drive late. That’s not to say he can’t. He could have finished OU but didn’t. yes, the defense gave it up but one more first down and it was over. He’s shown more mobility but that’s likely a minimal factor miniml future consideration.
  21. Things evolve. I would expect in breaking routes to be completed at a relatively high rate. What’s the average completion rate - 60-65%? Deep down the field and outside the hashes doesn’t build that up. In just the last week, I’ve scanned probably half if not more P5 QBs and their pass distribution. I did not put it to paper but every QB attacked the middle of the field more than outside either hash. Number of attempts and completion percentage. Many of those QBs do not go to their backside from their throwing side. As a stand alone stat, completion percentage means little to me. And if there are limited relative comparisons, then it is less so. For QBs, crossing routes are easier throws than go routes. Middle of the field throws are easier than sideline throws. Better sight sidelines. Less air time which allows for less defensive reaction time. Receivers aren’t running away from you. If we’re running a ton of cover 4 or cover 2 in combination, you’re not going inside leverage. If you believe your corners are more vulnerable down the field in man, I could see outside leverage given the perceived risks. If you’re trying to disguise, inside leverage may be an indicator for the offense.
