  1. You’re a little non-committal in your post here. “Often” the problem….”most”…….”we don’t know”……”most people don’t know” Can you point out who knows so I know which posts to give the most credibility?
  2. It’s not like he’s done here. I mean we’re one game into this season.
  3. I’m on the lower deck, west side. The heat wasn’t terrible and probably better for a 2:30 start than 11 in my spot. We were lucky that we didn’t get direct sun though. That’s the killer.
  4. What exactly are your expectations? I’d assume there is some sort of team metric there. Say wins for this year. Many probably had us 1-1 after Bama. Ultimately, his jobs is to help us win games.
  5. Jumbotron was damn loud. I want a replay of every play. This fell way short. The band, Pom, cheer seem non-existent. Tv commercials were pretty much all 2:35. I don’t know if that’s a network thing but better than the occasional 3:55 or whatever that had started to happen in prior years. Halftimes can be cut down to 15 minutes.
  6. Well let’s hope your strategy works.
  7. One might want to consider on the out of bounds ball to Worthy that it traveled about 80 yards in the air. (Throw from 24 to 25 and just inside the opposite hash) He missed the target by about 2 yards. On its face it is frustrating, but it’s why he’s playing.
  8. So Connor goes from starter to duking it out at a different position whereas the backup goes to starter without question? Ask @HenryJames
  9. The feeling regarding the offense is likely different if the first possession yesterday wasn’t garbage and Brooks catches the easy TD. He’s an anticipatory passer. He throws too soon on occasion because of this. When it works (Sanders TD) it’s awesome. When it doesn’t (Sanders face mask) it’s what the hell. Repetitions will/can help his patience. As far as being the same dude as last year, there were no risky throws necessarily, but he’s looking to convert first downs with his legs. So no he isn’t exactly the same guy. It was Rice. Who gives a damn. It was hot. It was never in doubt. In truth my preference is to not look great in game 1, but the realization that we need to focus and prepare properly for Bama is more important.
  10. Yeah, I can’t help but think there will be fewer comebacks now. Heard ol Bobby Burton say that thus far there’s a 7% reduction in plays. Yet somehow I didn’t get a 7% reduction in ticket prices. They should have tried creative advertising and efficient replay reviews first. If that didn’t work, then move to other options. There’s a number of things they could have done to save 15-20 minutes per game.
  11. I think if that happens something has gone wrong. But suspect we will see some against Rice.
  12. Did you fall down the stairs with him?
  13. Yet he’ll still run/jog/Gallup 75 yards to put on the headset.
  14. Retirement time for Colt. But anybody bringing on Dobbs should be questioned. They ought to pick up Felipe Franks so they can have two dudes that keep getting more opportunities than they’ve ever deserved.
  15. This is bs. Look at the Chiefs. The RBs won it for them. Particularly the one they spent a first rounder on.
  16. When does fall camp end?
  17. I was following the conversation that was applauding Sark on his recruiting but was referencing Herman. That Oline class for Sark was struggling to come on board. Then things changed. And that Oline class along with Ewers may be defining moments. Sark is fortunate of the timing. NIL and the SEC move. Texas fans can look back on that as a GameChanger. To hell with me for not realizing it was off limits to have some reflection.
  18. Does Sark suck or TBD?
  19. You do asshole. I’m assuming you want a good team. NIL is helping Sark recruit. He’s doing a great job with it. Without NIL and with the under the table offerings, that makes things more difficult.
  20. Yet the wins aren’t there compared to year 1 and 2 of Herman. So all players are better. All recruits are better. But we are a .500 team over that same time. Your math doesn’t add up. Both year 1 of Strong and Herman had a similar impression on the defensive side of the ball. WOW development. That didn’t work out in the end. You can’t measure a player’s maturity or maturity in the scheme. Surprise - DMO was better LB year 3 than year 1. I’m not surprised others are better as 3rd/4th year players than 1st/2nd particularly the further out from Covid spring and continuity of scheme and coaching. Some guys improve even with the crappiest of coaching. We’re the most talented team in the conference. Probably the deepest with talent. Maybe even the most experienced. We are pretty well balanced. We are in one of the best positions moving forward of anyone in the country. Sark can take this to incredible levels. If we can’t win 10 this year, there is a significant problem. There are no excuses.
  21. The jury still is out on the Oline too. That says nothing about their ability or potential. Simply getting a starting role doesn’t prove much particularly when the incumbent starters struggled. They have yet to perform. It is my expectation that the Oline will make a helluva jump this year. But the guard play is all projection. I also think the side opposite Sorrell will be solid as well.
  22. No, I get that, but do we believe that the Banks OLine haul happens without the NIL landscape changing? The timing was good for Sark and the program.
  23. Our upside with Sark is greater than Herman, but I can’t help but think NIL/under the table payments heavily skews the recruiting to Sarks advantage. And that might be a sizeable advantage. Thus far only Banks has come through with actual production from Sarks OL/DL commits. Murphy/Sorrell committed to Herman, right? Ojomo, Coburn, Sweat, Collins. Thornton and Ovie were Sark guys. It’s early in those guys careers, but they haven’t done much yet.
