  1. FFS, every member of Congress is getting the vaccine because they are mostly a bunch of olds and it could seriously impact government operations and security if there was a big breakout. Not because they are influencers.

Kudos to any politicos who publicly get the shot and try to turn down the volume of stupid in this country and set an example, regardless of which side of the aisle they are in.

  2. At home in the RGV, luckily the family are not Trumpsters, but we hit our favorite Mexican joint after church and a Trumper family strolled in.  What kind of dipshit wears a camo Trump hat to a Mexican restaurant in the RGV (and doesn’t take it off at the table, animal). Dickhead was pretty short with the waitress, too. He should be condemned to eat well done steak with ketchup for life, no chips and salsa for you.

I view wearing Trump gear in public as an announcement that you are a cowardly asshole who is too chickenshit to just be a real asshole in public so you passive aggressively speak through Trump. Voting for Trump is basically just vicarious assholery.

I know this is well worn ground around here, so I’m just adding another data point.  It’s Sunday so I’m taking my wife’s car to wash and fill with gas.  Car has multi-zone temperature control in perfect working order.  I know this because I set it up properly and use it when I drive it.

Back to Sundays...It’s never on dual control, always single zone. It’s always set to either 65 or 80, which doesn’t matter because the auto control button is off, the AC button is off, and the fan is on full blast.

Related, I have lost count how many times my wife has adjusted the A/C in the car a single degree because she’s either too cold or too hot.

Thinking just take the top 8 enrollments teams that make playoffs into a "Super", then fill out 6A as is now... so additional 8 teams would make playoffs.

Your region has a "Super" team in it than likely 5 teams will make playoffs otherwise only 4....

There just has to be an dis-incentive to create these super school just for football.

Nah, just go back to what I posted earlier. Give 6a an upper attendance cap, hell, let it have a cushion of +200 kids or so just in case your enrollment jumps. If you’re bigger than that, you can get put in a district and play a season but you’re not eligible for the playoffs.

We have upper and lower attendance limits for every other classification and there’s no right to be eligible to play for a state championship in them.

    Allen will split up tomorrow.

    Two hacks:

    1) Go over by the produce that has the misting on it. There’s always condensation you can use to wet your fingers.
    2) Wet your fingers by moving your mask and licking your fingers. It has the added benefit of freaking out the Karens around you.

    3. Run two fingers real quick up and down your ass-crack, smile at people while you do this.

  6. Michigan does not have higher expectations than Texas. What on earth are you talking about? DKR would have been burned to the ground years ago if we had the same record against OU over the past 20 years as they do against tOSU. And our record against OU isn't good.

I mean the whole package. They want you to be a Michigan Man, to win, to recruit Scholar Athletes, to be squeaky clean, etc. and can’t decide what order those things should come in.

Sure you answer the phone but if you’re a hot commodity like Campbell you don’t take the job.

What better job is coming open for Matt Campbell. Objectively and not DOOMED MFER!

Texas still racks top 5-10 classes. Let’s be real, the Big XII is either the easiest or second easiest path to a CCG and a CFP berth. In state recruiting rival is probably at their highest ebb in 30 years and will likely miss the CFP and finished out of their own CCG. Take a look at these other high profile gigs open or likely to come open soon and ask if they are really better jobs:

    Auburn- LOL no

Michigan- No, higher expectations and tougher obstacles

    USCw- just as much dysfunction

LSU (debatable but Ed O can mess this up)— Maybe a tossup for recruiting and resources, tougher conference, worse fans and pressure

I’m not sure why Campbell would risk his career progression on us. We are simply too much of a circus to be anything close to the top job many of y’all think we are.

Come on, when Texas comes calling you answer the phone. It’s very rare that a top tier program in peak form needs a new HC, and when that does happen they are like tOSU or BlowU and have a heir apparent.

You want a big job in CFB, you have to be ready to take on and clean up a mess. Texas is a 10 win season away from being the hottest thing going for recruits and momentum.

  9. I think Bielma is a damn good fit for them. Illinois actually should be a decent job, their state is not totally barren of talent and it’s a good school. I know next to nothing of what kind of resources they give the program but the Lovie Smith hire seems to indicate they want to win.  No reason they can’t be a Wisconsin type B1G also ran.

Wtf is this Death Valley talk, the Florida loss to lsu was in the damn swamp

    Yeah, you’re right it was.

Still, seems like a serious double standard to wave away losses to Iowa State and Kansas as “weird shit happens in conference games.” But Florida loses to the defending National champions and the number 5 ranked team in the country and it reveals their mortal flaws.

The SEC is for sure down this year, ACC with ND is probably the best conference.  But if a two loss OU is struggling to put away freaking ISU in the CCG that’s....not a great look for the Big XII, let’s be real.

I wasn't exactly shitting on UF. I merely wasn't kissing their butts.

Was Death Valley at max capacity? And they're still a .500 team.

KState lost their QB after that game. Ou was breaking in a new QB. At beginning of the season. OU had opt outs and suspensions namely Perkins.

Florida had a multi year starter at QB. LSU first start at QB guy. Last week.

    Not a valid comparison.

I don’t know what a valid comparison is. OU lost to Kansas State and went 1-1 and is -1 in points against an Iowa State team with a roster of the Midwest’s finest three stars. Maybe Kansas State would have been a juggernaut with their QB1 after their stumble at Arkie State.

I just saw Florida go toe to toe with an NFL farm team and looked damn good doing it. And I think we have a pretty good track record of how Blow U acquits themselves on the sports grandest stage. But if we feel better saying OU is super underrated, that’s cool I guess.

LSU did really catch lightning in a brittle with the insane roster coinciding with Joe Brady dropping in for a year. Aside from that, it’s been the Nick Saban show.

The Burrow part was serendipity. But LSU stacks top five classes like cordwood, is an NFL factory (behind only tOSU and Alabama), and has won three national championships and played for another in the past 20 years.  They’re a juggernaut, it’s surprising they haven’t won more than they have.

But it's Bama, though. They carry that conference who is nowhere near what their fans think it js outside of their daddy that carries them. It's like saying another AFC East team is winning the Super Bowl when its New England, the only team who wins it. Doesn't make the rest of that division better because of it.

It looks that way because of how damn good Alabama is, but the conference has also had three different teams win NCs in the last decade, four in the last fifteen.

    ACC: 2 different teams

    Big 10: 1

So it’s not really like the AFC East at all.

    Maybe.

I'm not really giving him flack for the Bama game. More or less making the point that they were chasing two scores the majority of the game.

The offense is quite good. The defense not so much.

Yeah, it’s a flawed team as evidenced by the losses. But a damn good one.  If I give Florida every win they actually got and also give them the LSU loss, then these are the other games out there (remember they were not scheduled to go to College Station):

    Eastern Washington

    South Alabama

    NM State

That’s a 1, maybe 2 loss SEC runner up and we’re talking about whether they belong in the CFP.

I do expect better. We're not trash. But yeah we're disappointing. And Florida is not miles better.

They lost to a crappy LSU team last week. Who lost damn near everybody from last year. With lots of guys opting out. And a true fresh QB starting his first game.

Loser shit is whining and kissing up to some other 3 loss team.

With the exception of Bama, the SEC isn't any better than the BIG 12.

Come on, man.  You’re going to shit on Florida for losing in Death Valley when the Big XII champion lost to freaking Kansas State? Let’s be real, that Florida team would likely boat race both teams we saw today.

They are not miles better as a program but they are an extremely good football team.

Reconcile his record at Florida for me.

This year he lost to the Aggies. Only 1 of 2 with a winning record to do so. He lost a first time ever starting QB. He put up a good fight versus Bama. But trailed by at least two scores for the majority of the game.

His 3rd season resulted in his worst record.

If Florida plays its full season its an 11-2 or maybe even 12-1 team most likely.  It’s harder to play a conference only season. Can’t give him shit for losing to Bama, who besides Clemson doesn’t?

  17. Yeah, many of them have been in a semi-bubble, they’ve been on a roller coaster, and who tf knows if these scheduled games even get played? Better to go home for Christmas than prep for the WeedWhacker Bowl only for it to be canceled because some interior lineman snuck out of curfew and got COVID at a titty bar or some shit.
