  1. It's Gandalf. No one gives a shit about Radagast or the blue wizards. People like Gandalf.
  2. I was definitely thinking about this post during at least one scene in the last episode
  3. Do more of these situations popping up make you feel less comfortable in playing in streamed games?
  4. For maximum chaos, I kinda hope the investigation finds that Garrett has been cheating the whole time
  5. If he turns out to be Sauron, I wonder how they will try to explain (or if they will) him saving Galadriel in the ocean.
  6. She did have J3 the hand immediately before this one but she also took a long look at her cards before making the all in call. Not sure how you can ever give the money back.

Completely serious. There were 16 "plays" in the video you linked. Long made two bad passes and let his man beat him on a run once. He was mostly fine and definitely not outmatched. You're crazy if you're placing any blame on Long for the goal. But it's clear that no matter what Long did, he (and Berhalter for including him) were going to be at fault to you. The team played like shit and lost. The worst offenders were the midfield trio of Adams, Weston, and Luca. Long's performance only stands out to anyone who was already going to scapegoat him regardless of what happened.

Is this supposed to show Long being terrible? Because really he looks mostly fine here. He under hits two passes (and the danger in the first one is really on Vines for sitting and waiting instead of coming to the bad pass) and then gets beat once defensively. Certainly not a great game but the problem this game was much more on the midfield trio than anyone else.

Really disappointing how bad the midfield was this game. Crazy how much missing Musah stands out.

I love that people have started complaining about Tim Ream not getting called in when people have bitched about literally every time he has been called in.
  11. If you're expecting the timeline of this show to perfectly match up to the thousands of years that passed during this time in Tolkien's lore, you're just setting yourself up for disappointment for no reason. They are condensing key events that happened over thousands of years into a time period that makes more sense for a TV show.
  12. You're right. Looks like I was mixing up the scramble where he got hurt with the "high stepping" scramble earlier.
  13. This whole thread is dumb (obviously) but what is the "he was playing well before he got hurt!" narrative you're trying to push? He handed the ball off four times and then came up limping after the first called pass play when he bailed on the play at the first indication of pressure and ran up the middle.

Sargent has always been good at everything but actually scoring at the national team level. If he starts scoring regularly, he's a perfect fit for everything we're looking for in a 9.
  15. When he said "sometimes you think about a girl, but sometimes, you're just there thinking about the donkey you're fucking" I lost it
  16. Shawn Marion is the guy who has always popped into my head as a player comparison for Eason but maybe it's just them being the same size with ugly shots.
  17. He did play almost 30 minutes a game during a 7 game playoff series in his rookie year, but $85 mil sure seems like a lot for the type of player he is.
  18. What does Jabari instead of Paolo change? You can't ever have enough big switchable wings.
  19. Eason at 17 and then taking a shot on a guy like Koloko at 26 and this is a perfect draft from the Rockets for me.
  20. And what player (that you actually want to sign to a large contract) is going to come play for a 25 win team that only consists on 1st and 2nd year players?
  21. 100% this. It will just make ads relatively more expensive compared to what they were before which is fine because they also will be generating more real value.
  22. Lol at Sterling being a "big loser" here.

Nah, that was a terrible article that Turner had to correct

The lineup you posted (for the US) is some FIFA shit. The Chelsea lineups you posted are all using three CBs. They aren't going one CB with two outside backs next to them and then just wingers ahead. A realistic lineup for the US in a similar vein would have Miles Robinson, Zimmerman, and Richards as the three CBs with Antonee Robinson and Dest as the wing backs. Essentially compared to my lineup, you're pulling Musah for an extra CB. Reyna at the false 9 absolutely would not be a waste. Viewing any formation as completely static and "well, you said he's the 9 so he's stuck up top" is a misunderstanding. There is zero reason why Reyna wouldn't be able to drop deeper in that role. It might not work but I'd at least like to see it before giving up on it.

I don't think 3/5 at the back is the answer for the US. We have struggled scoring and when everyone is healthy (if that ever happens) already have trouble finding minutes for all of the attacking players we want on the field. 3/5 in the back pulls another one of those attackers for an extra central defender. 4-2-3-1 could be a great fit for our player pool as a slight change up to the 4-3-3. It would really play out very similarly to what we already have but would add a true 10 role for Reyna instead of just a free role on the wing. I still want to see Reyna as a false 9 in the 4-3-3. That gets the most talent on the field for us and Pulisic/Reyna/Weah have a lot of ability to switch across the front line.
