He can't "take this as a redshirt year."

Saban has to give him a redshirt.

But I'm sure Nick Saban will out of the goodness of his heart provide that for him so that he can play two years somewhere else, even though that would leave Bama with a freshman as backup QB.

Especially because Saban has always been such a big proponent of the grad transfer rule.

I do not think you understand the concept of redshirting. If he plays in four games or less, it’s not Saban who grants him a redshirt.

When he graduates, it’s not up to Saban anymore.

Hurts is nothing more than a Trent Dilfer QB, no reason for any big school to go after him besides depth. He doesn't turn the ball over, but doesn't really win you games. Bama doesn't win the championship last year if they don't sub him out, he can't make big plays happen against good opponents.

Dude. I would have slapped your mother to have him last year or any other year since 2009 starting at Texas.

I wish there were literally one single thing in her life that my wife didn't tell me all about.

Well we know now he lied. His story is yes I lied at the press conference but really looking back I knew and did in fact do the right thing.

The Univeristy basically has to fire him now. What has happened now is Urban making the settlement more expensive.

My PhD is in higher ed admin.  I know what the purpose of a BOR is.  I also know at the university level, they tend to consist of individuals who are graduates of that school and have a perceptual bias in favor of their university, especially if they are a big dawg in football.  Can BOR members put aside the bias and butthurt of the fanbase and objectively make a ruling.  That's my question.

Granted I really don't care since I didn't graduate from there and think that place is trash.

No need to get snippy. . We don’t want you to get any summer’s eve on your Education Administration diploma.

I always thought the ET/Dallas trade rumor was just that, mostly fake news based on the goofy post-game incident, which, if anything, hurt his chances.
Dallas doesn't seem to believe in paying much for the position, nor put much priority on it.

Them not putting any priority on DT or safety is why this defense has been terrible for so long. Maybe if they got their head out of their ass and realized how important those positions are, they'd see a change.

Honestly, given that teams have unlimited salaries that they can spend, I do not know why every position is not a priority.

There's no way you've spent a substantial amount of time in both states if that's your opinion.  Detroit jokes aside, Michigan versus Ohio isn't even close.  Ohio is nothing more than an industrialized and colder version of Florida.

It sounds like a wondeeful place.

  7. I am already a cynical MF’er who assumes everyone lies, cheats and steals already in college football. But this one really surprises me.

I get lying to cover up an academic scandal or payments to players. I get covering up crimes to protect players who help you win. But why in Sam hell would you risk it all for a position coach? If he were a cold, calcliated asshole who cares about money and winning at all costs why not toss this guy to the curb the moment this happens?  It’s not like a WR coach is the brains of the operation. With all due respect to WR coaches, they are not exactly irreplaceable.

Really baffled by this one, to be honest.

Kid is what, 17? Remember the dumb shit you were convinced of at 17, or hell, 27 (I don't know how old you are but that applies to me, at least). I'm not expecting a 17 year old to think very logically here when he was recruited by 50 schools and 49 of them told him the same damn thing that OSU did. Hear it enough you believe it without thinking that much about it, especially at that age.

There is nothing remotely illogical about what he is saying. Urban Meyer, despite His team culture issues has been putting players in the league. Especially on offense. Meanwhile our offense has been a god damn tire fire for 4 straight years.

If you weee truly being objective there is nothing you can really argue about with what he says.
