This would be a SOLID haul after pulling the insane class we did last year.  I'm really not a big fan of Marcus Banks as a player.  He just comes off as a JAG.  Wolfe and Carter seem like guys that will be future attrition candidates.  Sucks that we missed on Brian Williams and Demani, but I'm impressed with this haul.  Really happy we looked hard OOS instead of settling for guys like Mack would.

I think our response to missing out on some key in state guys is very encouraging. Mack would have signed the first coaches son who agreed to commit at one of our junior days and Strong would have gone after some grade risks or simply nothing at all like he did at QB.

Herman and company are not settling even when the competition for in state guys is very high.

No shit?  Hate to break it to you but the world is still at war and the superpowers still have nukes pointed at each other.  We just don’t have the body counts.

Our reality TV President is in the process of dismantling the post WWII international order and he’s two klicks away from aligning us with the Axis powers.

    What could possibly go wrong?

You are an idiot. And proved my point for  me about having no perspective

I don’t think there’s been any point in my life when I’ve learned so much.

It’s probably the most fascinating time in US history.

But make no mistake, these are the dark times.

This just shows how young and naive some of you are. There have been times in our country where we  have been in an entire world at war where millions of people were being killed. We lived in a world where the two biggest super powers were pointing their nuclear weapons at each other.

We have an asshole at president who says outrageous shit and gets people worked up with political theatre and outright lies.

    Some perspective people.

Regarding Cain, it appears his other choices may not present him with good options to shine:

    1. Georgia - Based on Cain's comments he wants strong OL play, he'd get it at UGA for sure, but he'll likely have to sit behind Zamir White for 3 years.  White was the nation's top RB last year.

    2. LSU - I expect them to under perform under Ed O.   Plus Emery Jr has a good chance to end up there.

    3. Penn St - Distance has to be a factor, plus the fact that Ricky Slade (5 star RB) committed there last year, and they already have a 4 star back committed this year.

And White will not even be the starter. Their starter, Swift is just a sophomore this year. Suffice it say that Georgia is not his quickest path to early playing time.

Wow you just confirmed my whole theory of you not understanding logic because if you did you would know that just because A=B does not mean that B=A. A being a pitcher makes you B a qb but being B a qb does not make A you a pitcher.

I am pretty sure there was a better way of saying that.

I remember when SydneyCarton was in his mid-20’s and came to work one day bragging to the rest of us that he’d purchased a Lexus.  I’m not a car guy and don’t pay any attention to them but I knew enough to know that a Lexus was above this cat’s pay grade. Right?

Wrong. I’m in the parking garage a few days later and I see this 6’3”+ mongrel trying to climb out of this tiny, bright purple, rice burner of a car. It looked like a tricked out Corolla. I am fairly certain he’d stolen some Lexus insignia and had it drilled into his car. Anyway, that’s when I figured out that someone “owning a Mercedes” or what have you could mean a wide range of things.

I am just glad that I spent my first years out of college working in New York where poor analysts pretending to have more money than they did simply overspent at bars instead of having a tangible object like a car to remind people of how ridiculous their fiscal choices were.

I took a peek at the schedule, can't do it..

Incidentally, I love how every 9.95er write up I've seen lately fails to mention Kyle Porter when talking about the RB's...as if he's no longer on the team or something. There's no question he's not our best back, but he was actually starting to tote the ball pretty well towards the end of last season, and he's probably our best at blitz pick up. Like it or not, he'll see some play time next year even with our Freshman stud coming in.

    Lulz.

What the ever-loving shit is this asshole trying to say?

UT will suffer because it is located in one of the fastest-growing and most popular urban areas in the US? And the "shrinking of rural communities" trend will benefit aggy?

What is the purported causal mechanism here?

Austin is at a geographic disadvantage because of Mexicans is what I read.  And College Station will generate morre fan support due to its ability to stay pure to it’s Arian ethnic culture.

Whew! I can breathe a little bit easier now that I know that Texas is recruiting the right kind of player.

People actually pay for that shit?

This time, you see is different. This time the coaches have really started to identify the right kinds of players and unlike the guys before these are really the right guys.

Just like in summer workouts. Everyone is more focused than last summer. Everyone is more in shape than last year. And team chemisty is at an all time high. Not like last summer when things were really bad despite you reading a report almost identical to this one. It’s different this time.

Who in the fuck roots for Mexico AND Germany?

America’s biggest rival AND the front runners?

Thats like saying you root for the Eagles and the Patriots. Or OU and Alabama.

    What a dick

My guess is you have never really followed soccer if you think Mexico is somehow a front runner. .

Kroos with a legendary strike. He's the best player on the German side, and for Germany to do well, Kroos needs to be a big part of their system. This is one of the weakest German sides I've seen. There's not been a real leader on the pitch and certainly not a reliable closer in the tradition of Gerd Muller or Klose. Weak defensively. Then again, they lost three of the greatest Germans ever in Lahm, Schweini and Klose.

Brandt should start every match. Muller's invisibility and ineffectiveness is really hurting Germany.

In the last World Cup, Klose was largely irrelevant on the pitch. His specific skill set was easily replaced at that point in his career. If he is not two goals from the record and not named Klose, he does not even make the squad.

With Phillip Lamb, you had a converted midfielder to right back out of necessaity. From the offensive part, Kimmich is far more talented and effective.

Schweinsteiger is another story. His loss is the one Germany has not replaced and it is evident. His job was to sit on top of the defense and clean up against the counter when the backs pressed for offense. As of now, Germany had not found his replacement.

The biggest issue I have with roster is the specific chemistry and makeup. If Germany is going to play on that high line and press both backs on the wings, then the middle has to be covered against the counter. If you do not have that player (Rudy is more of that guy I think) then your forwards better be committed to coming back to play the counter. Draxler, Ozil, Khedira, Mueller, Reus are all offense first. Playing Ozil, Draxlr and Mueller together is a recipe for giving up chances if there is a turnover in the middle.

If Rudy can play against Korea, they should be better off. But if not, you cannot have all of those scorers on the field and expect to keep the middle contained. Another option would be to have Hummels play left back and keep Ruitger and Boetang in the middle. Of course they cannot try this now until the round of 16.

It would be interesting to see if Brandt can actually start. Either that or sub him in earlier in the second half. The guy is instant offense.

E.J. Holland's Big Board: Tight Ends

      Reveal hidden contents

With the spring evaluation period over and done with, it’s time to reset the big boards and look at where Texas stands with its targets at each position. We continue the series by taking a look at tight end recruiting.

    Commits:

Brayden Liebrock, Chandler (AZ) — Liebrock committed to Texas last month and filled a big position of need. One of the best pass catching tight end recruits in the country, Liebrock will bring a different element to Austin and could see extended playing time early on in his career. Liebrock does need to keep adding weight and working on his blocking but as a receiver, you’d be hard pressed to find a better option. This was one of the most important lands of the cycle for Texas.

Jared Wiley, Temple — Wiley is a solid second tight end take. While he didn’t have a ton of offers, Wiley is a tall, athletic project prospect with a ton of potential. Wiley had the frame to put on around 40 pounds at the next level and could turn into a key in-line player in a few years. Wiley plays quarterback at the high school level and is also a great baseball player, so the athletic upside is certainly there as well. Wiley, who also committed to Texas last month, plans to graduate in December and enroll early.

    Top Targets:

    None

    Offered Prospects:

Larry Hodges, Tampa Jesuit (Fla.) — Texas is done at tight end if both Liebrock and Wiley stay committed. But Hodges is an intriguing prospect that could be a take at another position. At 6-foot-1, 234 pounds, Hodges has the potential to play fullback or linebacker at the next level. He is currently committed to Miami but has talked about making an official visit to Texas in the fall.

I did not think these pay sites could write something more worthless than made up practice reports.

    I was wrong.
