  1. Calm your tits. No one is disrespecting Casey. Whoever wins the job needs to show out over a longer time horizon than one half of one game. I’m optimistic about the position because he showed he could play well but that’s not what is ultimately going to decide who is the starter.
  2. What is “should” based on? It’s certainly not anything on the field that has been visible to fans.
  3. He does not have the same kind of resume as Bryant to pull that move off. If he makes a business decision and not an emotional decision (assuming he is in fact the backup) his best move would be to stay this fall and be one injury or bad game away from playing. At worst, he continues to train and develop under Sark and he can pick another place to play at in January. At best, he’s playing and starting at some point. If he leaves now he has to make a quick decision on where to go, he could very well wind up in an even worse position. I would wait it out and see what the landscape looks like after players declare for the draft and pick my next school then.
  4. Thomson would be third at best on the Oklahoma State depth chart right now. He should wait and transfer inJanuary because there isn’t a school out there waiting for a non elite QB prospect to come in and be the unquestioned starter right now.
  5. It’s also certainly possible that Sark wanted to give Thompson every opportunity to compete and win the job. So far, it doesn’t look like he took advantage of that opportunity. I don’t think it’s been locked up for weeks. IT has been projecting Card the starter because they think he is the better player.
  6. Apparently one of the Thompson interceptions was of the scramble to the boundary and throw across the middle late instead of going out of bounds variety. That’s not the kind of play you would hope for from a more experienced QB.
  7. Listening to Sark’s media availability you get an entirely different context on the QB play than reading one tweet. Anyone freaking out over that one line without the rest of the interview deserves the anxiety they bring on themselves.
  8. Assuming that both players are dead even and have exactly the same effectiveness I would go with the player with highest ceiling, not the most experience. That would actually be the safer decision.
  9. There is this narrative that Thompson is somehow the “safer” player at the position and he needs to start early in the season to give us the best chance to win. Outside of just time in the program, there isn’t anything to suggest this is the case. In the limited game action we have seen, he’s put the ball in dangerous spots enough to give me pause on this narrative. Let the QBs battle it out and pick the one that performs better in aggregate across the practices and scrimmages regardless of experience or recruiting ranking.
  10. I’m not sure biased is the right word. They are certainly of the opinion that Card will be the starter. The question is- was that opinion formed from team sources that are giving them good information or is this just the camp they belong in from some existing bias from covering Card in recruiting? Gerry seems fairly level headed but I still do not know where he’s getting that opinion from exactly.
  11. Jake Smith just cannot catch a break. And before you roast me for making fun of an injury, know I’m currently laid up in a hospital after having foot surgery to repair shattered bones in my foot. I actually empathize with Jake.
  12. My bet is Card is starting by the time we play in conference.
  13. That’s something Aggy would do and something we would clown on them endlessly for. Embarrassing. We can move on and still be ok without the “they are not SEC good” bullshit.
  14. Speaking of boycotting, until Stewart Mandel apologizes for spreading false information about the risk of myocarditis in athletes in order to advance his own conference’s and his personal political agenda, no one should pay that fucking hack any money to read his mail bag.
  15. The disappointing part about this is one of the main selling points for Sark was his desire to invest in a staff willing to recruit. I thought there was a greater chance of seeing our staff wind up in a cocaine fueled binder than getting out hustled on the recruiting trail.
  16. Right. Because the problem right now is the fan overreaction. Not the smooth butt fucking Texas is currently getting on the recruiting trail.
  17. This is the classic make up a position to argue against. Unless I missed something, I’m pretty sure it’s not the official position of Texas that we are moving to the SEC because of how “great” we are. Then throwing out the record of us vs TCU proves what exactly? These politicians suck at debate.
  18. Is the claim now reduced to you are allowed to leave a conference unless you are of significant value to the other members and in that case you have no recourse to choose your own conference affiliation?
  19. Is he saying Texas and OU were lying? Who is the “they” in that statement?
  20. “We have agreed” = “I was told to shut the fuck up and I complied”
  21. Remind me again, where did this unbiased reporter Gottlieb go to school?
