Holy Christ what is happening to this pathetic joke of a party!?

Umm--good.  The Castros are worthless.  They define the term "empty suit."

MJ has a better chance against Cornyn.  And now she'll have a clear path through the primary.

Did I just hear that right that Barr stated Trump didn't commit obstruction because he was exercising his constitutional authority to shut down an investigation that was based on false accusations against himself? What kind of circular horseshit logic is this?

That is an amazing theory to articulate.

i actually like it.  Not a total departure from a classic design, but a mild update.  Nothing wrong with it, but certainly not really moving the needle either. I prefer the old one.  it was timeless and im not sure it was in need of an update.  That said, it could have been way worse.  Still hate the AA livery change.

Speaking of the AA livery change, there's a big bird in those colors now pulling up to the terminal at AUS.  The 773ER operating HKG-DFW was diverted this afternoon presumably due to weather in Dallas.

Any Asian routes, it would seem to me, would be operated by a OneWorld carrier...that would be either Cathy Pacific or Korean, both of which already serve Dallas.  Asiana, Singapore, Air China, Eva are Star Alliance serving Houston.

Austin may be boxed in re: an Asian route by IAH and DFW....but what do I know....

If you want an Asian routing--which I still think is very unlikely--I think it would almost have to be a Skyteam carrier because of the nearby hubs for AA and UA.  That would mean either China Airlines to Taipei (unlikely) or Korean Air to Seoul (somewhat less unlikely).

This will, unironically, be a boon for him.

Democrats have broken brains when it comes to the troops

I don't understand why you don't understand that two things can be true at the same time: (1) I consider John McCain to have been a war hero, and (2) I strongly disagree with many of John McCain's political positions.

The good news is Trump can’t pardon himself because Mueller made it clear he can’t be charged with a federal crime while in office.

Another good reason to open impeachment proceedings--the pardon power can't be used "in cases of impeachment."

Is it? Or do they want the Dems to impeach so they can fundraise and campaign on it and get Trump a second term?

    I think there's a lot of that.  But I think they've miscalculated.

Everyone is extrapolating consequences of a impeachment-without-conviction from a sample size of 1.  That's not a very sound way to predict future events.

Pelosi and the Democrats act like not impeaching is the safe play.  It isn't.  It holds its own risks.  It may be damaging to Democratic prospects to forego impeachment than to impeach.  If Democrats don't impeach, then their base may be dispirited and disguised with the gutlessness of the Democratic Party, say "what's the point," and stay at home.

The fact is that we don't know what is "good politics" in this situation, because we've never seen it before.  We're all just speculating.  And in a your-guess-is-as-good-as-mine scenario, it's best to default to the what's-the-right-thing-to-do position.

My boss is from West Texas but spent many years in St Louis for work. He's a Blues fan -- and a Stars fan. Was asking him about Jordan Binnington yesterday. Sounds like he literally came out of nowhere as the Blues went on their run. Is it because of him? Did he go along for the ride? I don't know the answer to that but he had one NHL appearance before this season. I do know, however, that Binnington is an amazing 24-5-1 as a starter. The Stars accounted for two of his losses and were 2-1 against him this season. Also, his numbers were down considerably from the regular season to the first-round series against Winnipeg. I didn't watch much of that series at all but if we lose to STL this round, I don't think it's because of Binnington standing on his head or anything.

I didn't watch a lot of that series, but I saw enough to form an opinion about Winnipeg.  It seemed to me that they entered the playoffs looking lousy over the past three weeks, and they maintained that form for another six games.

That's not to say that the Blues didn't earn it.  They entered the playoffs in good form and looked good.  I'm just exceedingly skeptical of Winnipeg.
