  1. pretty comprehensive 10ish min recap of the alumni game. Hadn’t seen it in other spots, but might’ve missed it. https://youtu.be/XD4COr8KRLw
  2. Yep, looks like a Cali (Mater Dei) guy and Ryan Leaf’s former WR1 at Washington St.
  3. “A proprietary algorithm, the On3 NIL Valuation calculates an athlete's NIL value using dynamic data points targeting three primary categories, including performance, influence and exposure.” Probably a combined metric including social media followers, on-field performance/awards, and exposure of the program they play for. Wouldn’t bank on it too much, though.
  4. WRs looking pretty quick this summer. Several max speeds over 22mph.
  5. 3 years! maybe 4 depending on COVID exemption stuff. 247 Article Fansided article alluding to possible 4th year
  6. I mean, we still have Quinn Ewers, so this off-season is already a win. We still have a long ways to go, but we have gotten some nice players to give a little room for trust in the process. We can be stubborn on the vision, but flexible on the details.
  7. Agreed; Kyler Murray was drafted on “upside” and raw potential that the metrics supported from basic Track Man projectile and kinematic stats like exit velocity and sprint speed. Doesn’t always translate. Who knows— if a guy like Mario Williams is the difference between us stealing a base in a tie game against Vandy or Mississippi State to get into scoring position to take the go ahead score or snagging a ball deep in the hole to take away and XBH in the College World Series, you take that every day of the week.
  8. When the baseball team has to divide 11.7 scholarships amongst the entire team, it is a huge benefit to have a player on full scholarship via other means (football). While I’m not sure how much Baseball would factor into Mario Williams‘ decision, David Pierce could absolutely use a fast, rangy, athletic player as a defensive replacement and pinch runner and would value a position like that over a 12th pitcher or fringe freshman. If there is any legitimacy to Williams’ interest in baseball, Texas baseball should absolutely try to help with that recruitment. Furthermore, with the MLB shrinking the draft soon (evidenced by the COVID draft in 2020 and outspoken desires from MLB front office members), and more and more minor league baseball teams going away, college baseball athletes will be more marketable and players who would have gone into the draft will now be playing in college with fewer rounds in the draft. Absolutely bar minimum, Baseball would give Mario Williams a point of leverage similar to Kyler Murray.
  9. That’s an interesting note I haven’t seen before. As a baseball nerd, a rangy outfielder with speed as a defensive replacement and pinch runner on full scholarship would really be a nice to have for current top-ranked Texas baseball. USC could absolutely still be a player, but Texas would stomp USC in baseball and that could be an edge we could spin correctly.
  10. Put as much time into this one as Aggy puts into self-evaluating their long-standing “traditions”.
  11. BREAKING: X Alabama 5* recruit enters the transfer portal. Sources say Texas is a top choice. X recruit was behind the starter at Bama and thought they could do it better. -most reporters tomorrow, probably.
