  1. I'm still thinking about how I learned in this thread that Kubiak named his kid Klint with a K. What the hell is his middle name? Got to be Kyle, right? Those people. So weird.
  2. JMU has now outscored three of the other teams that played today.
  3. I don't think that's true and that's not how my Daddy raised me. Daddy taught me to bottle up my feelings and he only hit me when I deserved it for crying or showing sympathy towards others. Now, if I could just find a good woman like my Mama.
  4. Well, not every game. All but one.
  5. OK, I've seen enough. So much so that I might actually go do something with the wife.
  6. This is an embarrassment and it won't get any better with tonight's game.
  7. It was obvious they were going to lose at home. Still, I never expected such an epic show of futility. Poooooor aggy.
  8. The coordinator I most wanted to be fired is the one that handles Special Teams.
  9. And yeah, his cover of Not Fade Away was the best one.
  10. RIP and thanks for the great music. Saw him lots of times, including an awesome solo show at a club near Wrigley Field. That said, the band he had with Ponty Bone, Jesse "Guitar" Taylor, and Lloyd Maines was maybe the best live band I've ever seen. Just greatness. I was always puzzled why they didn't hit it big, but I guess they defied genres a bit too much. Here's a video that best captures what I remember:
  11. Don't we already have a guy giving handjobs to recruits? This would not be a big step up from that.
  12. This seems to me like a reactionary hire. Someone convince me this helps solve long-term problems.
  13. Went back and looked at highlights of that SJSU game. Scudero doesn't show up much until the second half when we were rotating a ton of folks in on the defensive side. That is in contrast to the best white wide receiver on the field that day, a man who deserves respect and awe when you say his name: Motherfuckin' Parker Livingstone. As a bonus, that was Baxter's best game of the year by far.
  14. (Didn't see a thread, so apologies if one does already exist.) Watched it last night on Netflix and enjoyed it. It's a subtle movie that assumes you have some knowledge of cinema given the number of inside jokes and references (I'm sure I didn't catch all of them). Linklater also weaves some self-deprecating bits in there--you can almost see that this is about Slacker as much as Breathless. Gorgeous sets/scenery, a killer jazz soundtrack, and great acting. It's amazing how much the actors look like the real people they are playing. Well worth a watch.
  15. I played STQ a lot in my youth. It was loads of fun. Growing up in the 1970s in rural East Texas, we didn't have gays but we sure called each other gay, fag, queer, homo, and the like. Of course, we had a few of your more artistic types, but nobody was gay. I mean, come on. That was unimaginable in our school and something that only occurred in far-off cities. In the fog of my teen years, I didn't think about it too much when a couple of those artistic types just left for California or disappeared from class one day. Finally, sometime during my freshman year in college, I realized what was reality and how I and my friends had inadvertently made life much tougher for them than it should have been. Haven't really forgiven myself, but I hope I raised my kids to be more aware and caring than I was.
