  1. I thought it was apparent that Sark realized Quinn was off and called the game accordingly
  2. I think this year it’s all about QB. It is a really bad QB class. Lot of the top teams have QBs you just can’t trust for 3 straight games. That’s probably why Texas fans are so frustrated with Quinn. They know if Quinn consistently plays to his abilities for the back end of this season, Texas has a legit chance at a NC. If not, Texas may not make the playoffs
  3. Was nice to see the offense be able to run the ball to ice the game
  4. It’s a schemed up play. Use motion to isolate Golden. Simple 1 read play, which Quinn is pretty good at
  5. Collins with 7 tackles, 2TFLs, 1 sack, and a forced fumble.. ridiculous production from a DT
  6. They just gave up 800+ passing yards the last 2 games. Let’s not try to twist this Arkansas team into a legit power. They also lost to the worst Gundy team in a decade
  7. I don’t think any of the 3 sacks were on the OL today. If you are being reasonable, it’s easy to admit that offensive performance we saw today isn’t going to work vs better teams.
  8. Really hard to know and I think that ship might have sailed. He would have needed some starts vs lesser defenses. The frustrating part of Quinn is it’s year 3 and you never know what you will get out of him. That is supposed to be the reason you start experience
  9. Greg McElroy had a great run game behind him. Texas doesn’t have that. Texas can not win the SEC with the version of Quinn that showed up in the first half
  10. I have said Quinn in a clean pocket with an easy 1st read is a stud, but a lot of QBs are good in that world. How QBs handle pressure and respond when their reads are muddied is what separates great QBs from mediocre QBs
  11. 3rd down pressure package Show 7 on the LOS. 5 come and 2 drop out ends up in a sack
  12. just watching some tenn/Ark guessing we see a lot of this look.. 1Q plays: Ark 22 Tenn 4
  13. I think stadium reputations like Michigan and Texas are overblown. Get a top 10 match-up in there and the stadiums are as loud as any.
  14. Odd. Tenn game Ark gave them the running game. Tenn starter had like 150 yards rushing (too lazy to look up) and Nico had probably the same passing. They ran a lot of dime if my memory serves me well. Destroyed the Tenn passing game. That is not a bad plan vs Texas. If you play Texas there are 2 things to try. Either you hit Ewers and try to rattle him or dare Sark to win the game running the football.
  15. A&M will be an environment that Texas players havent seen. I expect that to be one of the craziest environments CFB has seen in a while. 11 am kickoff at Ark doesnt really rival that.
  16. Texas has been a double digit favorite in both games, nobody has given Ark or Florida much of a chance to win the game. I am sure the DC for Ark is going to go with an extreme plan vs Texas that will be all or nothing for them. I would expect blitz heavy or a drop 8 type look. Their only chance is he hits a home run schematically.
  17. I believe this is the tweet you wanted to show. Keep in mind that is a 4 yard run. That play works with the RB getting exactly what it is blocked for and nothing more. I believe the biggest issue with the run game is it has schematic diversity (gap schemes and OZ) but lacks gap diversity. For all the "Big Humans" talk Texas rarely runs inside. Seems the vast majority of runs are attacking the edges of the defense. Some that issue is the RBs and the middle of the OL. The OTs can displace a DL. That isnt something that Majors and Conner strive at. RBs havent shown much contact balance or great vision as a group.
  18. Sydir was pretty good. I would add that Safeties were hanging back in the 2nd half. That tends to happen when you have a 42 pt lead. Lot of that success was schematic. Like Florida, the key will be to get up early. You dont want to allow them to shorten the game and just pound the ock. Maye them 1 dimensional.
  19. think the stats are a bit skewed.. 08/29/24 Ark.-Pine Bluff Turf W 70-0 33 279 8.45 8 09/07/24 @ Oklahoma St. Turf L 31-39 47 232 4.94 3 09/14/24 UAB Turf W 37-27 38 266 7.00 4 09/21/24 @ Auburn Grass W 24-14 55 183 3.33 2 09/28/24 + 15 Texas A&M Turf L 17-21 30 100 3.33 1 10/05/24 6 Tennessee Turf W 19-14 44 137 3.11 2 10/19/24 21 LSU Turf L 10-34 19 38 2.00 0 10/26/24 @ Mississippi St. Grass W 58-25 37 359 9.70 2 11/02/24 10 Mississippi Turf L 31-63 37 127 3.43 3 In SEC play they are averaging 4.25, but that MSU game is massive outlier. Take that game out and it is 3.16. 3 of their 9 games (Pine Bluff, UAB, and MSU) represent 53.1% of all their total rushing yards.

  21. Could Texas Longhorns Alfred Collins Be Best Defensive Tackle in The SEC Next Season? Pro Football Focus recently released its grades for the top returning defensive tackles in the SEC next season, and Collins was among the best of the bunch. Based on last season, Collins received the third-best grade of 79.9, behind only Florida's Joey Slackman (90.5) and Kentucky's Deone Walker (80.6).
  22. He was actually solid last year, so I am not sure he is eligible.
  23. He might quietly be the defensive MVP for the team.
  24. The best defense is base defense, if you can play well in it. Todd Orlando still hasnt learned that. Stunts do raise the risk of people getting out of their gaps. Offense can catch you in the wrong stunt vs a play and it is RB on Safety in the open field. Blitzing is the same way. Like everything in life adding complexity increases the chances for mistakes. Texas runs stunts. You will see them in obvious pass situations. If you are up 42-0 the main goal is not giving up any big plays, so need to run them vs Florida
  25. Ark offense is strange. They are actually pretty good, outside of the fact they love to fire a few rounds into their foot a game. Only OU and Aubirn have turned the ball over more than Ark in the SEC. Texas has created the 2nd most turnovers in the SEC. Ark defense pass defense is a mess. 8.3 yards per attempt (only UK is worse). 266.2 passign yards/ game worst in the SEC. Not helped by the fact they struggle to get pressures.
