  1. The non-Xenomorph stuff had the feel of that 2023 Gareth Edwards movie "The Creator". Southeast Asia, cyborg/synth/android technology, conflicting factions, and visually similar. I enjoyed that movie's world building, acting, and use of cinematography/special effects, but was frustrated by the overall story. I hope Alien Earth keeps the narrative, cinematography and effects quality up, I have high expectations based off the first two episodes. Last week was a really fun 2 episode watch.
  2. Good news on both fronts, Cutti and a new medical staff.
  3. The Third Man is outstanding. Touch of Evil is good too.
  4. Kudus looks the part. Excited if we can follow thru with the other two signings.
  5. Richy from another Kudus feed!
  6. COYS!!!! Matchday! I started following Spurs in 2006 and the team has changed over the years, but it feels more dramatic this year. Anxious to see what the new squad looks like this year. Fingers crossed on getting an Eze deal over the line. That would be big!
  7. Bissouma not travelling with the club for PSG match. Disciplinary reasons. Time for him to move on. If we get Eze, I think he's a goner for sure.
  8. They called it the "Jim Lee experience". Once you got in line, you could look at artwork and original panels that he would sell. Some were as high as $85K! They also had some stuff from his own collection that wasn't for sale. Very engaging people working with him that would give you some background on the pieces. I got the impression that it was a family affair, he had about 4 different people helping him. Lee and I spoke about the late '80s to early 90s run at Marvel. He said that was the real "golden age" of comics. I agreed with him. McFarlane's Image indulgence started the 90s downfall. McFarlane was always a better artist than storyteller, but I enjoyed some of his Image work. But it accelerated the mediocrity of the industry overall (Liefeld!), and ultimately diluted the comic industry by flooding distributors with tons of copies of books that wouldn't sell. I've heard McFarlane is a gracious person with fans, but really comes off as arrogant and off putting with others in the industry. I'd love to meet him. Can't tell the history of comics over the last fifty years without him, Lee, Claremont, Byrne, Miller, Morrison, Shooter, and others.
  9. Went to see Jim Lee a week ago at a Frisco Collectors Convention. He was great! Got all of my X-Men #1 variant covers signed from '91. Same ones Claremont had signed years earlier. Smaller comics area than the sports card area. A few really good vendors, but overall less a comic convention and more memorabilia convention. Still had some good '80s era comics there that I almost picked up.
  10. Kulu not available for the first month of the season as well. Things are going great!!!
  11. Huge blow. Magnifies the MGW debacle. I don't know who is out there this late, but Levy needs to move out on someone.
  12. It's an ACL, so he's pretty much done. It's a 7+ month injury, barring any setbacks. He's set to have surgery soon. I wouldn't think they would rush him back after that. He'll be available next year. In the meantime, we need a midfielder.
  13. Any update on the Maddison injury?
  14. Please do, if you wouldn't mind.
  15. Sonaldo is moving to LA. I'll have to catch him when he comes thru town. LEGEND!!!
  16. They're saying it's pretty serious. We need to get a new midfielder in as soon as possible.
  17. The blooper reel with Wesley doing the Riker "leg over chair" gag was outstanding. Especially since Frakes directed the episode.
  18. It's a final. Spurs win 0-1. Given the large support of Arsenal by the Chinese, I feel good about disliking both.
  19. Friendly vs Arsenal in Hong Kong this morning. Very partisan crowd in favor of the Gooners. Sarr just scored from midfield as he caught the GK off his line. 0-1 Spurs. It's on P+ if anyone is interested.
  20. It wasn't 4 months, right at 3 months, but I was younger and watching it as it came out. That was the first cliffhanger in the series run. The first two seasons didn't have two part episodes during their seasons either. This was pre-internet, so nobody knew what was going on. That season, they would show 3-4 new episodes then show re-runs for 2-3 weeks, then show 3-4 new episodes again. When Best of Both Worlds Part I came out, most of us thought they were in another re-run cycle and that Part II would come out in 2-3 weeks. It was a long wait to get resolution. TNG was can't miss TV for me before DVR and On Demand.
  21. Gonna need more than that. Eze, Mbeuemo, and Kudus have all been discussed. Need one of those or a combination of those to come in. Highly unlikely, but we need more than we have.
