  1. Dang, Oregon looks big, physical and fast.
  2. I am starting to wonder if demonic forces are involved in our woes inside the 15 yard line. Sark needs an exorcist. His inability to dial up scores close to the end zone is one of life’s great mysteries.
  3. I’m glad we have a few games for this OL to grow up before the swamp. Continuity in the run game scheme is lacking. Pretty ugly.
  4. What is more frustrating? The realization that we can’t score against good teams inside the 5 yard line or the lack of awareness of our weakness with respect to how important it is to come away with 3 pts on drives early in games . . . games that are bound to be one-possession ball games at the end? Say we attempt three FGs on those 4th down calls and miss one of them (I can’t remember how far into their territory we were on one of the failed conversions; two were chip shots). We’re still only needing to get into FG range on that last drive to have a chance to win it. When you have a great defense, FGs matter . . . one of the luxuries of having a great defense
  5. OSU has championship DNA. We do not, YET. Day is a great coach and his team is the measuring stick until they’re not. Hopefully we come out of this hungrier, knowing what it’s going to take. Things will slow down for Arch. That was a very talented defense he played against today and it just took him too long to settle in. Sark still sucks around the goal line, which is hard to fathom.
  6. On the play where Arch scrambled for a first down, I’m pretty sure two of the receivers on his left side would’ve been ineligible
  7. Wisner running with purpose.
  8. Buckeyes are just as loaded as we are, playing at home. Their O-line is legit from what I’ve seen so far. Sayin seems like a gamer. It’ll say something about this team if we can turn the tables and pull this one out.
  9. I get it regarding our edge guys, but I’m still not sold that we’ll be super stout in the middle. Huge question mark in my mind. We lost a ton inside. Any reports on these transfers making noise in practice?
  10. We got exposed in the regional. Plain and simple. Duck tape and baling wire were holding this thing together down the stretch. A pitching staff with barely two legit starters isn’t going to run through an Omaha bracket. Couple that with our middle infield wetting the bed in game 1, turn out the lights boys.
  11. For real. The team he left for greener pastures is in the Super. Phew.
  12. The fact that Harrison was basically our “Ace” down the stretch is kinda what I’m talking about. That’s not the standard around here.
  13. Agreed, we knew it would be a razors edge to even win three games in a regional. This team was not built to go through a losers bracket.
  14. It’s pretty freaking amazing that we won the SEC with this squad. Deficient at two or three positions defensively (especially after the Mendoza injury), you can make an argument that we only had one or two legit starting pitchers even before Spencer got hurt. The fall-off of Gaspo and Flores was unexpected and painful. I feel bad for those two guys, especially Flores. Schloss and Weiner did a great job this year, with the exception of these two games against UTSA. That being said, we make a few plays defensively in the first game and they’re the ones facing elimination tonight, not us.
  15. Looking forward to Weiner being able to work with a complete pitching staff in the future. He did what he could with the guys he inherited this year.
  16. Okay smarty pants! 😁
  17. So, for us to survive this regional, Bing and Flores are both going to have to have good outings right? Unless we just keep raking for 24 more hours.
  18. Kinda crazy that most of our lineup is seeing the ball well from this guy, but Galvan looks confused. Baseball is weird.
  19. After going up 6-1, the rest of the game felt like some of the 3rd & 4th quarters we endured in the Fall. At least we squeaked most of those out.
  20. Man, getting right mentally after this one is going to be a chore. Finding enough arms to even reach a potential Monday game . . . one pitch and one AB at a time I guess.
  21. The unwillingness and inability to execute a bunt, down a run, runners in 1st & 2nd and no outs is a travesty.
  22. Lead off batter right there a great example.
  23. Two strike hitting has been night and day between these two teams. UTSA shortens up and protects the plate.
  24. Flores . . . wow. Totally lost.
  25. Gotta tip your cap to these guys for putting the ball into play over and over. Yes, our defense sucks, but not a lot of swing and miss with these guys. Disciplined hitters.
