  1. Think this was a northern guy but legendary
  2. Exactly - the penalty of getting tossed and losing future tickets forever has a great effect on behavior. I have posted this before but they could end the yelling crap by starting to enforce any existing laws on public intox. Yep it's low priority but a few hours in the drunk tank and having to explain in job interviews - might make people think twice.
  3. RIP to Hubert Green Us older golfers know how good he was. Two majors including one with a death threat during the round and a bunch of other wins. One of the very few to win three in a row and he"owned" his swing. The Senior Tour is pretty much the last place you will see pros with homemade swings that work. Followed him a few times at the Senior event in Austin and he was absolutely a grinder - he knew how to get the ball in the hole - a member of the Golf HOF
  4. I was not saying anything here was fake. As was mentioned - if you make a divers watch then you have to have some common elements with any other dive watch. The counterfeits are the ones that are made in China but still say Rolex on the dial which are totally different than a similar dive watch. A lot of the Subs for sale are these models and are used to cheat an unsuspecting buyer. And the manufacturer of these fakes are getting better and better at disguising from the real thing
  5. Probably a minority here but I call it a counterfeit and not a copy. And mostly because the bad guys are always trying to sell it as genuine when they know it's from a factory in China - not because my 25 year old sub is original.
  6. and this years it's a two hole playoff - I think
  7. what was that reaction from Stenson on the birdie? Looked like he absolutely wanted it to miss
  8. You should google the retirement plan. It's outrageous. Depends on cuts made but a lot of the mid level pros are not going to have to worry
  9. did I just hear that they did not move the hole location on 13? never heard of keeping the same location on two straight days
  10. 12th green looks really bad at 10 am
  11. crap - was trying to type "was not" and somehow left out the second word...
  12. First look at pin on 9. Gonna be fun. Of course Fowler just stuck it a few feet away. Already seeing brown spots near cup
  13. Nicklaus once said that every time he heard a golfer complaining about the Open course he knew the guy was ready to contend
  14. Well you could make a case for 3 of the 4 at least. He already has the US Open and could have had the PGA except for the goofy local rule about hazards. His length is perfect for Augusta so the one that IMHO he has the least chance is the Open. Of course we said the same about Phil until 2013.
  15. Go find a copy of Massacre at Winged Foot about the 74 Open after Miller shot his 63 the year before. Irwin won with something like 7 over. USGA is tired of John Deere like scores.
  16. and tickets are still available - just wow.. If I lived there I know I would have gone it's the US Open no matter who missed the cut. https://golfweek.com/2018/06/15/the-forecaddie-tickets-available-heading-into-weekend-at-shinnecock/
  17. really liked Poulter's honesty on his mess from the bunker. Something like - a really bad shot from there would wind up 30 feet away. I wound up 30 yards
  18. Listen to him... he's pre med
  19. This gonna make the US flag look pretty weird
  20. Interesting topic on Golf Channel last night on the 7th in 2004. The previous USGA official (before Davis) was still defending the crap they rolled out. There was also one USGA offical who claimed without any supporting evidence that a "rogue" greenskeeper had rolled the green late the night before. They also claimed it was watered between groups and Phil has said it was only watered if the group had a double bogey or worse. Also they pointed out that several players had putted of the green on saturday
  21. The overhead camera shot of Pavin on 18 was just amazing. A few oddities from 1995 - Pavin only won one more PGA tournament after. I would have put him down for at least 5-10 more. Also he won with one a sets of irons - Cleveland VAS- that would not win any design contests but obviously worked for Pavin.
  22. I was reading something today and learned about what happened to Phil on 18 last time. He never mentioned it but he had a big rock right behind his ball in the bunker. Fred Funk was in his group and said it was obvious from the sound that he hit the equivalent of a knuckleball and took a 6 or 7 to lose. All Phil said about it was he shouldn't have hit in the bunker.
  23. have some rep for that effort
