Coming in late and trying to understand what happened. It looks like the tide was underestimated and you had to make your own way out? others were not so lucky? If correct - how did you mis judge the tide so bad? i thought you were a frequent visitor there

That look outstanding. Too late now but hopefully you put some black plastic down to cut back on future weeds

One the subject of shots to win Open - almost no one remembers Jerry Pate's approach. they might remember his pants however
also the shot by Pavin on 18 to clinch the Open gets mentioned but he did miss the putt

I am too lazy to look up and see if there are videos, but here are two that are in contention, from the same hole
A) Jacks one iron at 17 at Pebble Beach
B) Tim Watson's chipping and 17 at Pebble Beach
I think both were in US opens, I'm not certain of that though
A is the correct answer. Most people have no idea how darn good that shot was. As background - final round of US Open and slim lead. The wind is absolutely crazy off the ocean. He hits the pin and 2 inches away to seal the Open

We had a triple drive-in near where I grew up. If you stretched your neck enough, you could see the R rated movies on the other screens.
So I heard...
At college in Birmingham there was one that showed XXX stuff. No idea how they kept the teenagers from hiding nearby

100% NOT a classic car, but I didn’t see anywhere else to ask. I bought a new Ram a few months ago, but by ol’ stand by almost daily driver is an ‘07 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 120k miles. I keep it around because it’s a decent ride, and living on the beach I don’t care if it rusts. Anyway, it may just be in my head because I tend to worry about crap like this , but it seems like there’s a slight hesitation in my transmission when I put it in gear. I’ve never had it serviced, and I hear conflicting op about working on higher mileage transmissions. Any opinions?
Might try here

I have a lot of stuff similar to items mentioned
1. Two HP41C calculators - 1984.
2. High school track spikes - unusual item. Nike Americas from 1970s. A pair was offered by Sothby's for something like 4K
3. Any of my record albums from 70's. I do have the very rare Buckingham Nicks album. Never made it to CD for some contractual issues
4. High school letter jacket

I was not encouraged by what I saw in our spring game, particularly slow QB decision making - holding the ball too long. Texas/Bama has been good football every time out all the way back to 1960 but the feel and flow of this year’s game is a hard call.
I know this; September 9 is too fucking early for day games in Tuscaloosa or Austin. Wish the full Texas band could come but TV has killed that. Back in the early 80s Texas opened at Auburn. A friend of mine who attended that game said the Longhorn band march-in took forever as the Boog fans sat there gaping. By the time they played The Eyes the game was over in everyone’s minds. I believe Bo Jackson was on that Auburn team. There’s something extra cool and special about a road underdog coming out with the W, especially vs those Philistines.
Not a Philistine but I was at that game. 11am kickoff and it was hot as blazes. Only loss of the year

Thread has taken a turn into the tiny euro convertible lane - I'll join with an update on the TR6.
My son and I upgraded the suspension, brakes and steering, so we moved on to the wiring harness.
Engine bay was straightforward, despite the PO making a mess
Inside dash also pretty easy, just need to label everything
This is what awaits us under the dash this weekend - not great Bob
Plan is to ship it off for paint after full removal. Wife wants British Racing Green. OK, we like British Racing Green.
Once it's back we get to open this box.
I'm afraid to look ... however it's reportedly a brand new modern wiring harness. Removal of said harness is one thing, installation quite another.
I'll use the interim painting period to ponder under the tree of woe, and ask the universe why I've chosen that task.
That harness looks like every owner screwed around with tapping into it. New harness is a great idea.

I'm dealing with the same thing for my Fiat 124 Spider. The original color was orange and I'm leaving towards blue (color code 462). The problem is getting the proper shade, and the new Fiats that are painted blue have the same 462 code but look different. I have a similar paint code card like was posted for the MGs and have DuPont codes, but a lot of paint shops can't properly match using that old code, especially if the old paint has lead and the new paints don't.
There are paint companies that use digital scanning for paint matching. If you're not already part of an online FB group for your model, join one. You can probably get someone who has the same color in original who is willing to take it to get scanned and send you the code. That's what I plan to do.I posted this but the shop has compared card 4 to two different, never been painted original cars and it matches. My problem is that is doesn;t seem to match what was called original in 80's

Apparently i went past the time to edit.
(1) is 1979 VW Florida Blue which is supposed to be an exact match for Iris Blue. (4) is Iris Blue using todays paint. It also may be correct. The shop manager has a 1960 MG in Iris Blue that has never been painted and a triumph in his shop that has never been painted. He swears (4) is a match using hidden spots like inside trunk etc. he also sent me this piece that was cut of my car and buffed down to to show what the paint was that Dad used.
The ability to only edit for 2-3 minutes stinks.
The problem is not really trying to get 1960 version but to get what I thought the 1960 version was. I really liked the color we used in 80's and it may be a match. But the samples (4) don't seem to be the same as the picture from the 80's

This is what I found. It's not a Baby Blue. It's closer to a Carolina Blue.

I have seen that chart multiple times and a few others. Also i appreciate the website you linked but I have been there too. The issue isn't that I didn't want to post but that everyone sees things different on different computers. And the issue really is not that I don't know what I want. But here goes with pictures. The car is a 1962 MGA. Here is my twin in early 80's. Both were same color - Iris Blue. Dad took his trunk lid to PPG store and matched the inside so it's close to how it was originally painted. Not quite the same as paint chart above
Here are the two plates the shop sent back

and it's time to choose the "correct" shade of Iris Blue for my MGA. The shop sent 3 samples and I am not sure any are what I remember the car being. I asked if we could take a time out until June when the national MGA club meets in Memphis. I could drive over and compare a lot easier. On the other hand no one knows exactly what the shade of Iris Blue was 60 years ago. Most paint codes have changed and the original was methyl cellulose based.

So you are digging the masterpiece for no reason other you wanted to? Have you considered some products from our new sponsor instead of manual labor?

It's a long story so I'll cliff note it: After three fucking months, including two trips to court (fuck judges and their dumb shit BTW), I finally got the damn title for my Camaro. I dropped it off at the shop yesterday to get the front end looked at and a couple of other little things. Got some new seat belts ordered. Things are finally progressing, a little bit at a time.
Could we get just a little more detail on this issue

Growing up in Huntsville we had Picadilly and Britlings cafeterias. One of the Britlings was next door to the largest Baptist church. More than one other church played the BBB game - a minister described it as - we end the sermon at 10:45 to Beat the Baptists to Britlings.

I'm thinking Apple sits this cycle out completely, then plays wait and see with the SEC-B1G and how their own sports offerings work out. Apple will want as many eyeballs as necessary if they are to justify the expenditure.
They are dipping their toe into sports, and maybe after a few years of broadcasting they decide to go further, or that it's just not their thing. At the money they generate (in 2020, they made $94 billion in net income, or around $10 million per hour) whatever it would cost for the rights to the SEC would be a rounding error.
Just tossing out that the head of Apple went to Auburn. No idea if that changes anything or not in terms of getting SEC.

It's not a good position to be in this year - if you need a QB. There are a large number of them but no Joe Borrow or Trevor Lawrence - consensus number 1's. Gotta hand it to Carolina for having guts to trade in a year like this

I am trying to match Iris Blue. Every one present was slightly different and every owner said they matched the original paint by using a section that doesn't vhange - behind dash etc.
This one was a very special model. They had a racing version but the general population kept blowing the engine so they created a special version with all the race stuff but the standard engine. Only a couple hundred were ever made
