Whitney definitely had pipes, but I feel like the spirit of the song is somewhat lost in her version. I prefer the melancholy of Dolly's version.

Also not better, but Weezer just had their first billboard hit in over a decade with this song.
They also did this one:

I realize this is a real thing, but at the same time I get ads in Spanish all the time -- a language I don't speak -- so I think I've somehow successfully fooled my phone.

I have one of these and it's fun as hell. You just have to be prepared for everyone to stare at you like you're an idiot. I prefer it to my bike any day of the week, though.
I realize you're talking about indoor, though, so I apologize because I'm no help.

Saw it last weekend and thought it was a lot of fun. I'd recommend it.
Also, I liked the ending but.....
I'm also into grim and dark shit where everything doesn't end all tidy and happy. I was close to being pissed when I thought it was all going to end up being a coma dream. I was pleasantly surprised with how it turned out.

It was the wealthy who destroyed this country. Don’t blame all the olds.
The wealthy have no power without the votes of the boomer majority. They can have the blame.
Boomers were the "No skills? No degree? No problem!" generation. There was a middle class job turning a screw in a factory for damn near every one of them and they had no issue squandering the wealth of this nation, were the leaders of pointless interventionist wars, started the endless war on drugs, and so much other bullshit. They waltzed through life with the greatest worker rights and protections this country had ever seen, and they've been doing their best to dismantle those rights and protections for future generations for the past four decades.
I have zero sympathy.

She and Schumer fit the stereotype of limousine liberal right down to the ground. NYC and SF, the two cities the heartland loves to hate the most. Typical Dem cluelessness.
This is true. The heartland hates successful cities, which is in part why the heartland is poor and miserable. Nancy Pelosi actually fights for things that would make life better for those in the heartland, but she's an old liberal woman with a D next to her name from a liberal city, so screw her, amirite?
I understand why heartland America would rather vote for Republicans who, even though they sell them out to the 1% on every issue, at least they appear more like someone they'd rather have a beer with. 'Murica!

A lot of you incel dorks take this Star Wars stuff way too seriously.
Quote“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” star Kelly Marie Tran has erased all of her Instagram posts, with “Star Wars” fans pointing to months of racist trolling as the reason for her exit.
The deletion was spotted by Star Wars Facts, a fan site dedicated to the franchise, on Monday night, saying Tran had left because of “months of harassment.”
A rep for Tran did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment on why the actress erased her Instagram posts.
Tran — who played Rose Tico, a Resistance mechanic, in the latest “The Last Jedi” — has dealt with online harassment before. Her character’s page on Wookieepedia, a “Star Wars” reference site, was altered by racist trolls last year, changing her name to “Ching Chong Wing Tong,” and calling her “stupid, autistic and retarded.”
Previously, Tran used her Instagram account to chronicle her journey on the press tour for “The Last Jedi.” Tran’s account remains active, just without any posts.

When I was a kid one of the major television networks broadcasted Hondo in 3-D. You had to go by Randall’s and pick up your glasses in order to watch it. My dad was so fucking excited. My dad made hamburgers and baked beans and all sorts of “cowboy food“. One of the only times as a kid I truly saw my dad just get casually drunk on a Sunday.
With all that said, it’s OK, but it certainly isn’t some piece of shit or his worst effort.
Long live The Duke.
There was an entire Married with Children episode about this. If my memory's correct, it was in 3-D, too.

Running around on cable a lot the last couple of months. Interesting observation on Taken. Probably right.
I think Scott borrowed from Traffic for the color oversaturation. The Mexico scenes could be from the same film.
Oh hell, I looked at the IMDB entry for this and noticed for the first time that this is a based on the first of a series of novels. Got the first one. Could keep me busy for the summer.
I read the first book years ago and while I liked it, I think this is one of the rare instances where the movie is actually better than the book.
Spoiler but not really important enough to ruin the book spoiler:
Roughly a third of the book is him recovering and getting back in shape after he is shot and the little girl is kidnapped. Pages and pages about him swimming across a lake. It drags, IMO.

How many people know the words to God bless America?
Not me. If my life depended on it right now, I would get shot in the fucking head for not knowing God Bless America.
However, if I made an entire spectacle about patriotism and uninvited a championship sports team because they *(didn't) kneel and then threw a celebration of 'Murica focusing on myself, I'd probably have the foresight to spend five fucking minutes to learn the words to songs that were going to be sung.
But I guess when it comes to leaders of nations, I'm just an overacheiver. Go figure....

I mean if the crimes are so overwhelming, why won't he get the boot? Y'all are on here all day talking about treason and RUSSIA ATTACKING THE US. You and the pundits that are reporting and providing you info are overpromising and the investigation is gonna underdeliver.
If the crimes are as meaningless as you think they are, why is he and his attorney publicly debating whether or not he can pardon himself? This is the behavior of a man who is aware that he's cornered and is trying to move the goalposts to the next spot for the sake of his supporters and those on the fence.
And he hasn't gotten the boot yet (and maybe won't depending on how future elections go) because the bootlicking Senate and House are more than happy to protect him. Bill Clinton was 100% correct the other day in saying that if Trump were a Democrat, impeachment proceedings would have long been underway.

Unemployment fell to 3.8%, very impressive. Some believe it could fall to 3% by the end of 2019, which would rival the levels of 1953 during the economic boom post World War II. Looks like some good times ahead gents, happy Friday.
I agree. Obama did a great job turning the economy around. I'm happy Trump hasn't ruined it yet, even though he's trying his hardest with these trade wars.

I'm watching Spectre now on FX and don't get the hate. No, it's not Casino Royale, but likely no Bond will ever be that good again. It's basically just the old-school outrageous Bond formula filmed in modern times. It's still, like all the Daniel Craig films, better than every Bond that came before. Sean Connery wishes he made Spectre. If you think otherwise, maybe it's been too long since you've seen "You Only Live Twice."

I’m sorry, but you’re unfortunately incorrect. While her method of delivery was not Twitter, the remarks were equally disgusting. Suggesting that “adult gay men tended to be attracted to very young, post-pubescent types” or calling Gov. Charlie Christ gay and naming him “miss Charlie”, while insisting his marriage was a sham, are absolutely slurs. Hell, she admitted in her blog that she was “probably homophobic”. Er, I mean the hacker admitted as much. There are different standards and it’s abundantly clear you’re ok with them.
I expected far better banter from you, you’re slipping BT.
Negged for spending the past page trying to turn this thread into a Joy Ried thread with your whataboutism. There's already another thread for that, and since nobody here works for her network and can fire her I'm not sure what point you're trying to make.
