  1. I’m aware of that and that’s why I put regular procreation pool.
  2. I’m not a biologist but if 20% of a generation take themselves out of the regular procreation pool, accelerated population decline is a foregone conclusion.
  3. This maybe should’ve gone in the inflation thread, but I couldn’t resist it here since it involves a central bank telling people to Have Fun Staying Poor. A lot of high notes here. It’s greedflation, you shouldn’t be asking for raises pleb, muh Russia. Couldn’t be monetary policy of an unaccountable central bank huh. Also, quit bitching about the system. “stop trying to maintain their real spending power” It’s like they’re begging you to opt out.
  4. Wow this is a great idea. I will definitely follow up this way. cheers. My borderline Asperger’s helps in stressful situations like these. Having an awesome wife is a huge help as well. Thanks again to everyone here for all the input. Especially the people who normally aren’t my biggest fans. 😂 🫡
  5. Just got my afternoon update. The principal let me know he will never set foot on campus again. I asked about any legal ramifications and he said the same line that the investigation was in district HR hands. He said he wasn’t able to legally share anything that they had uncovered but he wanted to let me know he will never be employed by our school district again. So he got shitcanned in less than 48 hours with minimal fuss at the school. I’ll take it. I’ll probably call the school district in a couple weeks just to poke around. Maybe just ask, “Is the investigation complete?” Though I suppose if they really find something else the cops will get in touch with us.
  6. It’s not Snapchat. It’s some app called SendIt that I hadn’t heard of until Sunday. We’ve never allowed her to have Snapchat for reasons discussed earlier. As for other apps, I’ll just say isolating your kids from all electronic communication is a noble goal, but impractical. When they start traveling for sports or stay late for practices etc it’s pretty easy to justify them having a phone for communication. Then once all their friends all also on social media like instagram or TikTok it’s hard to keep them off. You have to essentially isolate them from peers. Maybe that’s a good thing. Idk. We went with allowing some of it, but closely monitoring all their communication on the apps. You can put up certain safeguards that appear to deter some of this bad contact. On her insta it says parent monitored on the profile. You approve who follows her etc. we limit her screen time where the phone will make the apps unavailable after a certain amount of use daily or a certain time of day. No perfect answers. If you don’t have kids or teenagers specifically you probably underestimate the role it plays in their lives and the trickiness of keeping it under wraps. For example, new apps pop up that you’ve never heard of.
  7. Missed this a few days back. This screams to me that they’re preparing for more bailouts. Next up Blackrock and all their real estate? Pensions? Insurance companies? Basically any massive players underwater from rate increases
  8. There is a small town angle to this. The principal’s wife is a teacher at the elementary. The schools aren’t mega sized. It’s a decent sized school district but the schools we feed into service a smaller community.
  9. Agreed. My oldest is in 8th grade so we’ve had this principal for 3 years. All communication and school functions have been very professionally managed. That’s why we thought it was the right place to start. when we spoke last I asked if the on campus officer was aware of case or involved. That’s when I was told that district HR makes the determination if police need to be involved. Not the best answer I’d like to hear, but he knows we’re tracking that angle.
  10. 12 year olds dude We have considered that and it is a new app to us. SendIt. But given all the other red flags from his behavior and his activity levels on other social media with the kids it still points to him. I’d say we’re 95% sure it’s him. And if it is an impersonator they need to be called out. Also his other creepy behavior is still coming to light.
  11. I know not to expect discretion from you Lobo but most of the people you list won’t give near the fucks that the principal of the school will. You go with a spray and pray strategy. We went with a focused plan of attack. I like what someone upstream said. Not everybody is Joe Paterno. These people value their jobs and want the school to be a good experience for families. They won’t blow it for some two bit baseball coach. If he were some kid connected to a prominent family that might change the calculus but that’s not the case. No need to call in a bunch of favors to have this guy fired. Just let the system work and he vanishes.
  12. No. We’re going with the anti Lobo strategy for now. Keeping our mouths shut. He’s almost certainly gone from the school forever and we don’t have to worry about him anymore. Fortunately he didn’t hurt my daughter and she hasn’t heard of any other friend receiving contact like this so we aren’t going to knock door to door to see if there’s anyone else.
  13. When I asked if we’d be alerted for any change in his status, the principal said he would speak with me daily until it’s resolved.
  14. I was surprised there wasn’t an explicit district wide policy against interaction on social media. It has to be allowed though because of promotion of student athletes by coaches etc. Maybe make it a rule under high school? Appreciate that. Whenever you think you have it figured out, something new happens. I knew I’d get a wide variety of opinions here and the site is 72% lawyers. Some good input even from people that think you’re doing it wrong.
  15. I’m aware of what he was doing. I think he’s a noob at it and slipped up a bit on target selection. He picked one with present and involved parents. Just glad we caught it. I feel bad that we have to discuss how pretty girls draw creeps at age 12 but we’re getting into it. All new to me as she’s our oldest daughter and I grew up in house with only brothers.
  16. You missed the part where there’s no guarantee he actually did anything truly illegal. So, yes I do lean towards protecting my daughter if there’s not a great chance of positive resolution. She’s at a very impressionable age and as it sits now doesn’t seem affected by it. Is that still the case if multiple classmates and families are getting interviewed by the cops and it blows up into a big story in town, but he still just gets fired? I’m not pretending to have all the answers and I’m willing to change my mind as conditions change. For now I think we’re waiting and watching.
  17. He’s been pulled from campus. Will not be there tomorrow so she will be going and taking the Staar exam. The investigation is now in the hands of district HR. They’ve been given everything that I provided. It’s at the district’s discretion as to whether police will be brought in. My wife and I will have to talk and determine if we want to push separately for police involvement. But, I am confident that he will never step foot on campus again. this is our concern. Not so much from parents, but other kids there. If/when it’s discovered why he vanished I worry about her being blamed or shamed by classmates. Seeking out the police on our own guarantees that happens imo.
  18. I think he was caught off guard a bit by the severity of all and as I said he’s a buttoned up guy. He said he has to conduct an investigation basically and he would get back to me asap. I’m assuming they’re making initial contact with the perv and confronting him with evidence? I’m interested to see if the full time sheriff at the school has been brought in to help as well.
  19. We take their phones before they go to bed every night. Wife does the necessary digging. It’s all pretty easy to uncover. She’s not on Snapchat because our understanding is that messages automatically delete on that one.
  20. Here’s the profile change. Before with his real name. And after.
  21. Not sure if serious but there’s been a bitgold. https://www.investopedia.com/terms/b/bit-gold.asp
