  1. Well, AZ looked plenty good, dangerous. UW has played in tough games other than Oregon.
  2. The settlers have been terrible since at least the 80’s. Roth had a good take of it in one of his novels back then.
  3. Not contesting that, just the notion they are “compelled” to by some quasi legal reason. They are not.
  4. This fiduciary duty speech is over rated. No company was sued for not investing in China. Or for any other reason I recall. If so, hardly a deluge. Companies can make choices based on what they think is “right “ among other things.
  5. My parents bought a 1100 sf house in Killeen in 1954, on NCO wages. That house, piece of crap that it is, just sold for $90k. With renovations over the years, that is$50 something per sf. But it is still in Killeen, and no gen z wants to live there and commute to Austin.
  6. In addition to the issues listed above, mistakes plagued the OK St game. The multiple deep PI’s, one not called; the 3q interception, the lack of “urgency” opening the d\second half, the f.g/delay of game fiasco. If the less than great offense shows, we can’t afford game changing mistakes.
  7. Good point. Once money gets in the picture, it may be hard to get it out.
  8. But he’s not big and cannot afford to get dinged. I don’t think the coaches nor he want to run the Q2.
  9. 5% injury rate? Several multiples of the public rate, and way higher than industry standards, orders of magnitude. This is clear evidence of a poorly run manufacturing enterprise
  10. More MBZ love. Our 2014 ML350 has just under 50k miles. It will surely go another 10 years. EV selection should be easy then.
  11. Helpful level of explanation. I guess we need the offense (and defense) to show: this ain’t no Oregon.
  12. Yes, most likely early trend will be ineffectiveness in the run and shift to virtual all pass. You allude to last year’s game and that seems a bit far away and somewhat different teams. I do think UW can score 27 or more,. Sure. How much friction can our D generate? One of two huge questions for Texas. The other is, will the great offense show. It has happened, and recently, and more than once.
  13. Yes, the trend needs to continue. Yet, it won’t be recognized by the overlords.
  14. GW He was simply making a reasonable conjecture, prior to examining more trial stuff. Simma down, now.
  15. Lots of analysis on this thread, sums to an early realization: the teams are closely matched. UW’s nations best passing attack should have a very good outing on our pass D, subject to whatever trouble our front 4 might generate. Our offense against their D looks good on paper, but their experience level is likely to even out much of that gap. And our great special teams are pretty well matched up by UW. Both teams had several games where they played below their best, and had to learn how to win. Having watched the two Oregon games plus USC, I am biased as those were 3 of their very best offensive outings. As of a month ago, I didn’t think UT was of the same capability as UW, that we just didn’t look as good. Then we began to look real good. Tremendous bias on my part in the wake of those games. Really hard to pick this game. But I have to pick UT straight up. The team has earned some confidence.
  16. I have gotten used to CTJ’s style, even when he’s calling me a dumbass. But Sark and crew have less background and may not appreciate what they are reading
  17. Definitely no purity balls in Killeen, in the 70’s. Not even much soap.
  18. Wouldn’t anymcourt demand the doc be produced for the court and for the defense?
  19. The real issue to complain about is how utterly disinteresting the early bowls are. 1 out of 5 last week, 0 for 5 today. It wasn’t always so, eh?
