  1. Number of starts doesn't tell the whole story. A couple of years of age and maturity still makes a huge difference at this level.
  2. It's not fair, but that's the price of being an ultra-hyped prospect. Quinn wasn't just a 5 star. He was sold as a king of kings with the whole perfect rating thing. The fact that VY is the other player we've had with that type of rating and patience among this battered fanbase was always gonna be thin.
  3. The list of names from the past decade that I once thought would "save" the program that I now realize I haven't even thought about in years is depressing.
  4. I've seen a lot of strange takes from people on this board, but this isn't one of them. If there's anything it seems like we all agree on, it's that 2005 was a long fucking time ago.
  5. When did I say those words? Nobody actually thinks about it in those terms. I'm sure they try to win every game on their schedule. But let's be honest, you know they want to win one game above all else. If you think Tech prepped for Wyoming the same way they're gonna prep for Texas then idk what tell you. Remember Tech struggling vs Houston Baptist a few years ago before taking Texas to overtime? This isn't some new phenomenon.
  6. Part of me feels like the hateful 8 are prepping for Texas even more than usual this year, which explains the early season shittiness. We're talented enough that it shouldn't matter, but I expect some of our conference games to be scraps if the offense has its head up its ass to start the game like usual so far.
  7. I haven't been to a game this year, but I remember my senses being absolutely fucking assaulted at the UL Monroe game last year. It was my first game at DKR since 2013. Maybe I'm just old now. I went to Texas during the Colt years and wondered why the old folks got so worked up over godzillatron. But damn, it just feels like too much these days.
  8. So fucking happy these goofs are getting an early look at what their reality is going to be when they don't have their super bowl to focus on every year to give themselves meaning. Enjoy irrelevance you shit talking, whiny fucks. Fuck Yormark, too.
  9. So we're about as good as 05 OU?
  10. Four o 'clock in the morning here in the UK. Sitting in my non-air conditioned British house, after drinking since sometime around yesterday afternoon. God DAMNIT was that worth it!
  11. First thing I thought of!!!
  12. I'm I'm the UK. Try youtube TV or FuboTv. What kind of VPN do you have? Some streaming sites will sniff out some of the lesser ones. A good VPN will give you multiple US servers to choose from. Just keep switching them til one works.
  13. Lol, you clearly don't know much about Taker behind the scenes.
  14. Hoping for a 2010 Nebraska type outcome where we go in, shitty offense and all, and ram it up their ass.
  15. Yep. He's always given me the impression that he sees this as his stepping stone to something else. Probably something non college football related.
  16. Extremely happy with the defense yesterday, but I worry about Bama just leaning on them all night while our offense fucks around for a half.
  17. When Florida hired him, all I could think about is how his veteran ULL team that had been hyped all summer long lost comfortably to our shitty '21 squad. It's still early, but I'm not sure if a job with Florida's expectations is a good fit for him.
  18. Bingo. Bama, Oklahoma, and Ohio State have decades of successful football in their histories. Clearly location isn't as big a deal as those of us from, or familiar with Austin wish it was.
  19. It's always fun to see people that think they're making themselves look cool; when in reality they look like a moron.
  20. Larry Coker, Ed Orgeron, and Jimbo Fisher are all inferior football minds to Sark, imo. If you have a roster that's truly stacked with talent, it masks a lot of coaching problems at the college level. I'm hoping the new age of special assistants helps allow Sark to shore up his blind spots.
  21. I still fail to see how being optimistic about the roster means one is swimming in Kool Aid. You accused me of making a strawman argument and then make the same strawman argument the original poster was making.
  22. It feels like you're looking at this whole thing in a vaccum. You seem to be basing your entire argument for us sucking this year on Quinn being raw as a true freshman and one player (Bijan) leaving. I love Bijan, but as amazing as he is, an elite rb is a luxury, not a necessity. I'll take a better overall offensive unit (OL, QB, WR) over any single rb, even one as good as Bijan. But if just saying we suck in 2023 because one player left and our young qb struggled is "real football discussion" to you, then continue on.
  23. Because understanding that a Freshman quarterback that hadn't seen live action in two years can actually mature means we think the team is unbeatable? Quinn was a mess at times last year, but wtf were you expecting?
  24. Doesn't matter. Sark's record from a decade ago means we can't possibly be good, no matter who is on our roster.
  25. Better start preparing yourself. The current students have spent their entire lives knowing nothing but SEC dominance.
