In what universe is Wilco NOT a rock band?

Huh.  I probably hadn't heard anything of theirs in over a decade.  Last time I listened they were very alt-country, but the stuff I just checked out was definitely in the "experimental rock" category.  So fair enough, I concede, they are a rock band. :)

I served mine right away and it got rave reviews.  However, I did put a bunch of it in a jar to keep and it was noticeably better the next day.  But I’d say it went from like a 9.5 to a 10...not like a 5 to a 10 or anything.

Yeah, I generally make it fresh and eat it within hours.  But it does tend to improve somewhat with some melding time.

Wrong thread, but Texas and Alabama could easily be in the same conference. League with Texas Alabama A&M, Arky, OU, Auburn, uga, fla, TN would be the best in college ball.

    Yeah, wrong thread.

I'm in the Surly minority but I'd be cool with getting our traditional rivalries back with A&M and Arkansas. And going along with OU would preserve all three of our traditional rivalries.  But beyond Alabama (who Texas would likely only see a couple times every 8 or 10 years), being in a conference with Auburn, Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee is really a big "who cares" from me.  I get it that they're YOU'RE longstanding regional rivals, but they're not mine, and I don't really give a rat's ass about any of them. Especially since they'd most likely be aligned in an eastern division, so really Texas would be looking at playing the Mississippi schools and LSU on a regular basis, with a slight smattering of the other SEC schools you mentioned.

I'd be far more interested in ditching the dead weight in ALL conferences and forming a conference that had UT, Oklahoma, Michigan, Ohio State, USC, Alabama, and Notre Dame.  It could be called the "FU Pay Me" conference.

How do you handle fresh water for the camper? I get the appeal of camping on the beach but what do you do when the tank runs out?

The freshwater tank is 30 gallons.  We don't use it for drinking or cooking, that's just for toilet/sinks.  That would last a week if we needed it to. We bring another 15 gallons or so of drinking/cooking water.  The gray tank holds 30 gallons too, so it's 1:1 for freshwater and not really a limiting factor.  The real challenge is that on my ancient, vintage camper, the black tank is only 13 gallons.  When boondocking as we do on the beach, it's strictly for #2.

We can go a full 4 days without needing to renew freshwater or dump black or gray.  Out at PINS, there's a dump station and fully modern campsite (with hot water showers!)  at the last stop before the primitive beach camping, so if we're out there longer than 4 days it's not terribly difficult to break camp, hook up the trailer, dump, and return.

If I had a modern black tank with 25 or 30 gallon capacity, we could go a full week.

I'll go out on a limb and state that neither of us want our team to wear these again, but the 80's are gonna 80.

Hmmmm... well... ugh.  The Aggie uni is actually decent.  Other than the complete wannabe T on the cap.

But man, that Texas uniform is... is... is that a velour track suit?

I agree with all this. I decant the good stuff as well and stick the bottle topper in the majority of the other wines I drink.

I do hate cleaning the decanter though....

That's what the wife is for.

Please no Pedo State! They are only an iconic brand among the NAMBLA crowd.

Let CDC know that you have no interest in scheduling Pedo State.  I just did.  The others all look good.

As whiny and bitchy as corn was on the way out, I'd still be okay with scheduling them... for the certain win.

    I don't mind Mother's or Father's day.

What I do mind is that on Father's day all I want is some peace and quit, some beer, and a steak (that I'll make myself) - What I actually get is mostly none of those things

Same here. I'm lucky that both of my parents are alive and well, and same with my wife, and there are a lot of advantages to having them all here in town-- our kids are 8 and 10 and we've only paid for babysitting 2 or 3 times in all those years.

But holidays can be a complete disaster, making sure all mothers are properly attended to on Mother's Day, and all fathers are properly entertained on Father's Day.  When all I want is to be on the lake, skiing and drinking beer.

Deadpool... irreverent juvenile humor... which is fine in the right time, place, and dosage... but cant see why adults get so utterly giddy about it

You're asking this on the surl/shag, which is pretty much the epicenter of irreverent juvenile humor for adults, so...

No better place to learn than in a budget, starter boat like a brand new Cobalt. Just be careful around docks and avoid shallow water. That should at least keep you afloat.

Well, and remember to put in the plug before putting in... :)

Jesus those things are expensive.  And my FIL also knows nothing about boats.  We have to tale lessons to learn how to drive the thing.

I think I've met your FIL.  Does he happen to look like this?
