That makes sense for those who fled but wonder what it’s like for those there today. I’d there’s one thing the masses like it’s religious superiority. Are the people living in Iran wanting to go back to pre 1979 or to continue fundamentalism possibly with different leaders?
Well I suspect it's fair to say that the little girls and young women that are getting attacked and beaten for not wearing hijab, wouldn't mind seeing a change in behavior.

I will never, ever listen to Kenny Chesney, on the boat or otherwise.
Also, question-- will it ever rain in Austin again?

Definitely the bigger hit. My starter wife was a Neil Diamond freak, so I ended up learning almost his entire catalog. I've heard enough for sure.
I love Neil Diamond. I was always okay with him but didn't really know any of his older stuff. It wasn't until getting to know @MaxHorn and hearing Diamondbag play several times, that I really grew to love his music.

Yacht Rock talk not going away.
Oh and Kyrie is not yacht rock. Too much synth and the chorus hits way closer to 80s anthem rock.
Anyway, it's never going to rain again.

Here's a thing: which of the guys from many decades past could excel at Texas now?
I'm not sure Street or Nobis could. I'm pretty damn sure Earl could.
You sure about that? Now? Have you even SEEN Earl try to walk around lately????

We fell right into their brilliant trap once again!! Heads needs to roll! Fire everyone! From CDC to Immamac (for that tailgate stunt he pulled)!
Tailgate Stunts would be a good name for a craft beer from some local Austin brewery.
Something high alcohol but appropriate for hot weather. Maybe an Imperial Pilsner.

If they had an o line, reed would be throwing more and running less. A sieve up front may actually be serendipitous for them, if reed can stay healthy. Unless he has turned into Dan Marino in the pocket.
If they had an oline, their running backs would be more productive and their need for hero-ball from Reed would be diminished.
Bottom line is, their o-line is their biggest liability on offense, and no QB or RB is going to be very successful with the trash they have in this position group.
Strangest thing is, they are still getting recognition for this being a team strength. As usual, the mediots and talking heads never bother to dig even a fraction of an inch below the surface and just repeat the garbage they've been fed.

I was recommending the downtown spot, regardless. I actually didn't think the pizza at the Anderson Lane location was as good. It was hard to pick Backspace over Buffalina Due or Little Deli, both within walking distance, or Homeslice or Feral a short drive south.
Easiest choice in that area, Conan's reigns supreme over all of them.

This is the kind of delusion I can get down with. Yes, aggie, you are only a QB away. The questionable DL, the untalented LBs, and the shitty skill players on offense all point to a championship if only Marcel Reed can be a game breaker.
I think their biggest problem is their crappy o-line. Reed isn't great but I'd be a lot more worried about him if they had an o-line worth a shit.

Oh yeah Mr. Smartypants? Check out this actual spy photo, recently taken at a top secret Chinese weapons contractor's R&D site...

I live here at Canyon Lake near Startzville. It’s put about 3 days worth of evaporation back in the lake so far. That’s it.
Sigh.
Yeah, just not getting those 5-7" rain totals across multiple counties like we need, to make any real dent in the lakes. Something is always better than nothing, but this isn't going to cut it for real improvement in the lakes.
Still, the ground is primed and ready for mass runoff. If we DO get a major hit, it'll be glorious.

You're wrong.
We'll get massive, flooding rains, starting about 500 yards EAST of the lake recharge zone.
Shoal Creek gonna get slaughtered.
And all that water will pass Longhorn dam and head on down the river.

They forget that paying players to visit aggy and not to visit other schools has been their operation procedures since Fran years, especially the not to visit part.
Yeah no kidding. They practically invented that, because they had to.
Other programs don't do it, because they don't need to.

Well, I mean.....there's obtaining the right cuts of meat, the prep, setting up the right mise en place....
...then the kitchen cleanup, washing dishes, etc.
All-in-all, I'd guess that his percentage of actual cannibalism-focused activity time was closer to 5% of his time. So, a real number. Anything worth doing is worth doing right.
Ah, but the original quote stated "99% of the time this guy wasn't eating people." I believe that applies specifically to the actual consumption of people. I think it's a stretch to include meal prep and cleanup.

Two days over the watershed though…
stream flow now… totals over 48 hours. Man if we could get 4-5 more over the watershed the next few days that would be HUGE.
1 hour ago, troph said:kxan showing rain more likely east of the lakes the next two days. not saying no rain out west but not the bullseye we need. we'll see.
Yeah the rain has been nice, especially in the Buchanan recharge zone, but what we really need is a 5+ inches across a wide swath of the recharge zones, all at once. With the ground already being saturated and ready for runoff, THAT would be the kind of event to get multiple streamflows up into the 10K-20K cfs range, which is what it takes to move the lakes feet at a time, rather than inches at a time.

Agree. This infographic asserts that it's the first time since 1957. I saw it on Facebook so I assume it's true.

Because large portions of Europe shut down during August?
Yes, this. 2026 schedule is about 1 week earlier than normal, to be honest. This year in 2025 it goes from after Hungary on 8/3, resuming with Zandvoort on 8/31. Last year Spa was 7/28 and Zandvoort was 8/25. Similar for years prior.

"Don't Let The Propaganda Lie To You"-- Cool ,cool, so I'll ignore everything Tucker Carlson says. As per usual.
It's really impossible to know, the oppression is so great that there's zero chance of hearing any true response. I get it that you're proposing a hypothetical, but there's really no way to answer it, even speculatively.
