Still, the roof was way easier.  I think I am down to about 5-10 minutes depending on how good my helpers (kids) are.

Oh, one other mod we have for running doors-off, in addition to the side mirrors as you already have, is foot pegs for those bottom front door hinges.  That way you can lounge around like a real heathen with your foot hanging out the door.

Something like this would work, but there are lots of other styles:

Cool, you're now running "naked" as Jeepers call it.

I've got a hoist mounted to the ceiling of the garage so the hard top goes off and on in just a few minutes.  Screwing in the 8 torx bit screws is the bulk of that time.

You'll definitely get quicker with the doors.  Taking mine off only takes a couple of minutes now.  Putting them back on, a little more.  Of course your aluminum JL doors are definitely lighter than my steel JK doors.  I get a pretty good workout, especially with the front ones.

Ah yes, a valve cover coming up in FP1. Riveting.

That drain cover destroyed Sainz' Ferrari, forcing them to make repairs that resulted in grid penalties, and Toto just sat there baiting and taunting Vasseur in the ensuing press conference, smirking and saying "well, them's the rules and there's just nothing to be done about it" even though it's possible that the teams could have agreed NOT to enforce the penalty.

I found that to be pretty dramatic.  If you don't, that's cool, and if you don't want to watch the show, that's cool.  Doesn't affect me at all.

DTS is what got me into the sport. I now have zero desire to watch it. Seemed like the first one was great for introducing the names, teams, and the sport overall. The next ones were good for showing some behind the scenes stuff. Last season just felt like a recap of the year.

Can't imagine there will be much that's interesting to see from the 2023 season given it was a blowout.

Since I've always watched the F1 season long before DtS episodes were released, I've never watched them with any interest in the outcomes of the specific races or the end result of the WDC and WCC.  For me it's entirely about the soap opera, and last season there were plenty of high drama moments to be captured.  I'm especially  interested to see what behind the scenes stuff they feature for the Las Vegas race, there should be plenty to choose from.

We rounded the corner and there it was. Behold, the Bowlus Volterra in all its polished glory beckoned us, lowly us, for a one-night stay. We politely obliged and settled in for the night, trying to act like staying in a $310,000 luxury travel trailer was normal, perfectly normal. We promptly excused ourselves to go buy some lotto tickets, promising that if we won the jackpot, the first thing we would buy was a Bowlus Volterra. We meant it.

19 has always absolutely slayed me, especially this couplet

I was only 19.  Finished up with high school.  Headed to a state school.  Walked right into you.

That will always immediately take me to my first major college fling/crush.

    Same here, it's pure nostalgia.

All I ever wanted to do... was lie around in bed with you... I was only nineteen

I can’t tell you why but in the long run the Hotel California lyrics are already gone.  The prosecutors should take it easy, but instead they will take it to the limit.  There might be a civil action here, but a criminal case should be the last resort.

    ... a 9-3 record will typically mean that's a very good team.

Yes, similar to the NFL, where an 11-6 team is not only a very good one, but is capable of winning-- and did win-- the Superbowl.

It's going to take some getting used to, and I don't believe every current college football fan is going to be willing or able to make the journey.

When I try to explain this place people’s eyes get that far away look and start to glaze over. Maybe it’s just every time I talk to people in general…

Maybe folks would listen to you if you weren't so busy strangling them and dumping them in Town Lake?

People with a brain and integrity: Wow, that geometry is shockingly beautiful and Israel tortured him for 5 years to suppress it and Britain has him homeless and broke locked in a social prison so we should probably do something about getting him off the street.

Surlies programmed with idiotic arrogance: "What about the math?"

Sounds exactly like something someone who sucks at math would say.

And there is nothing idiotic about our arrogance.  It is beautiful and perfect.

Someone's been read up on Loop Quantum Gravity. Since you're attempting to meld LQG with String Theory how have you navigated the quandary of Anti-de Sitter space-time's negative cosmological constant?

I know this is a troll but there are actually pseudo-science loons out there that are convinced they're found some scientific breakthrough if only the science world would listen. They don't listen for the same reason I wouldn't listen to a gardener's great breakthrough idea on how to get my car engine to get 5 mpg better mileage on 87 octane. Gotta learn the trade before expecting to be taken seriously.

Well I mean, he's a lawyer that admits he doesn't know math and yet has solved The Theory of Everything so... uhh... .well... there you have it.

Texas has already seceded from Mexico and from the US. The only artistically viable remaining secession is from Canada. This will of course require a stealthy unification with Canada first, otherwise secession would be chest-thumping play-action. But my people inform me that it has been underway and is nearly complete. I almost feel sorry for those Canadians, but they are fools, such trusting fools.

Clever-- grant their wish of finally becoming Texas' hat, and then immediately dash them into the barren caliche.  Serves them right for being so nice.

  12. Wow I like that song after one listen, and there's no doubt it'll continue to grow on me.  Old 97s songs tend to do that to me in a way that not many artists do.

I had no idea of an attempted suicide but the moment I heard that lyric it really hit me, I knew exactly what he was saying.  Then sure enough I read the responding posts.

Anyway, looking forward to another album release.  I'm getting tired of my usual "new listens" and ready for something a little older and warmer feeling.
