  1. Her outfit at the Emmy's last night:
  2. Maybe not in this genre about generational movies but Election with Matthew Broderick and Reese Witherspoon is an excellent high school movie.
  3. The Republicans have lost literally everything since 2016 and even 2022 against historical trends yet the media will you believe the people that have been voting against them in every election are now going to show up and vote for Trump? M'kay.
  4. I had thought of Can't Buy Me Love but forgot to mention it. I thought it was a good take of social cliques at the time. (Popular kids, nerds, jocks, etc.) Accurate look at the dynamics and the interactions between them. Also aged surprisingly well. The fashion in the movie is kind of popular again and the hairstyles weren't THAT 80's. Still a good rewatch. If I remember right, the actress that played Cindy Mancini was only 16 or 17 at the time. I like that a lot of these movies back then had actual teenagers playing teenagers and now it seems to be 25 year olds who look young. Bonus points for having Gerado (Rico Suave). I didn't realize that until like five years ago or something. More morbid trivia is the actress who played Cindy Mancini died of an overdose in 2015. Patrick Dempsey is now Patrick Dempsey.
  5. Try watching Revenge of the Nerds. I remembered the Nerds as lovable underdogs but they should have been thrown in jail along with all the frat and jock dudes. VERY rapey.
  6. Ain't no one trading for an average QB making $59M next year.
  7. Any Gen X love here for Pump Up the Volume? Aged reasonably well an the soundtrack was A+. World's first podcaster.
  8. The most morbidly ironic thing about Heathers is the Heather that asked "Did you have a brain tumor for breakfast?" died in 2001 of.....a brain tumor.
  9. King of the Hill....? They did not work in tech.
  10. Breakfast Club would still get made today. Heathers? Not a fucking chance.
  11. I don't know where to put this but I laughed:
  12. Reality Bites is solid if you're looking at early adulthood rather than HS years. For that time of life, might I also suggest....Office Space? At first glance, it's a comedy but on a deeper level, it's a coming of age movie for white collar/junior tech types. If you were in Texas and worked in tech in the 90's, the show is a cultural documentary.
  13. Heathers it he most Gen X of movies. The teenagers there are adulting the entire time with no supervision. They're fucking, drinking, smoking, and killing. The adults are just on the periphery, if anything. The movie is also very morbid, which is also very Gen X. Add on that all, if not most, of the key actors were actually teenagers themselves.
  14. This is the part of the game where Dad pads his stats to make it look not so bad.
  15. By the time his career is over, Dak will have made almost $400M on and off the field. Let that sink in. Two playoff wins to show for it.
  16. MJ's kid getting some satisfaction, am I right?
  17. Not if he’s “injured” for the last month.
