  1. Even the CEO's are realizing.... Donald Trump’s tariff threats have triggered a behind-the-scenes lobbying campaign to soften or alter the president-elect’s plans. But the effort faces a potentially insurmountable roadblock: Trump isn’t budging. That has left business executives scratching their heads about how to lobby for exemptions from the steep tariffs Trump has promised on imports from China, Canada, Mexico and other countries. https://www.wsj.com/economy/trade/trump-tariff-plan-business-lobbying-8f02ccea
  2. Considering how bad the show got, I liked the finale, mostly because it had very little of the actual plot. It was mostly cowboy shit, which was always kind of entertaining. Liked seeing the Lainey Wilson character come back and having made it big and had the cowboy follow her. I also liked the voice over at the end because it's kind of true. Lulz at Taylor Sheridan. Basically fired Kevin Coster and then wrote himself into the show as a character which was a masturbatory fantasy. Hot take and fire away but I actually like Lainey Wilson. Music is radio friendly meh, but she's good looking, works her ass off, plays the part, and that accent. The first time I ever heard her talk, I could pinpoint where she was from within 100 miles. She sounds exactly like all of my in-laws from far South Arkansas. She's from far north Louisiana. Bingo. The cinematography was also good as was the music. The rest of the show was a telenovela for rural whites. Glad I don't have to watch it anymore. I'm sure I'll have to watch something else of his because he's slapping the brand on everything because he has bills to pay.

I'm amazed how many male writers can't write female characters for shit. David Chase was a notable exception with the Sopranos.
  4. The fan energy in that cup game had all the energy of one of those covid games. I said that Sengun would the 4th best on the OKC roster. Might move that down to 5th behind Hartenstein. Just a complete defensive dismantling of the Rockets. Their 6'0" PG was off so they couldn't score. They had to get him his shots so the 6'0" SG that was #3 pick in the draft didn't even play because he'd be eaten alive. Not one of these Rocket players are a #1 on a title contender but they gave them all money and then drafted a 6'0" SG who doesn't get off the bench. Congrats.

Likely because he had time constraints being they were movies. Giving a show and it's just a listless plot going nowhere. Entertaining TV, though.
  6. Yes. He can do anything he wants and as an incoming president, he has access to the same intel. This is basically Trump saying "the government." He is the government, at least after 1/20.
  7. I've noticed that most of the people buying into this are right wingers and they're accusing Biden & Co of hiding things. They don't seem to realize Trump has access to the same intel at this point as an incoming president. Why doesn't he tell us what's going on?
  8. Their old one kind of sucks. His best offer in the portal is a 5-7 team whose coach is likely getting fired after next season. That says a lot. I'm guessing Miss State was an option as well, and that's not a good option either.
  9. Randy Moss...? https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/42954375/nfl-hall-famer-randy-moss-announces-battle-cancer Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver Randy Moss said Friday that he is being treated for cancer and is recovering from major surgery. In an appearance on Instagram Live, Moss, aided by a cane, introduced himself as a cancer survivor and thanked his "prayer warriors" for their support. Moss said a cancerous mass was found in his bile duct, between his pancreas and liver. He said he had surgery to put a stent in his liver on Thanksgiving and underwent a 6-hour procedure about a week ago to remove the cancer. He said he was hospitalized for six days and released Friday.
  10. The one where your mom does the starters on defense while wearing a Santa hat.
  11. More Bella Hadid doing cowgirl stuff. Guess it's relevant here:
  12. What's weird is that "engagement" is high. Youtube, social media, etc. It's the one sport that everyone likes but no one watches the games.
  13. I like Steve Kerr but GS has been on the plus end of officiating for like 15 years but when one call goes against them, he thinks it's the worst thing in the world. I once saw Draymond Green completely berate an official for 5 minutes in real time and no call.
  14. The same people who were anti vax now want the government to pay for Ozympic. Amazing:
  15. Harris not going to the Al Smith dinner = Dems hate Catholics Trump using the military to storm Catholic churches = oh well
  16. Wonder what the "RELIGIOUS LIBERTY!!!!" crowd will say about this. Prolly nothing: The incoming Trump administration intends to rescind a long-standing policy that has prevented Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents from arresting immigrants at or near so-called sensitive locations, such as houses of worship, schools and hospitals or events like funerals, weddings and public demonstrations without approval from supervisors, according to three sources familiar with the plan. https://www.nbcnews.com/investigations/trump-scrap-restriction-ice-arrests-churches-schools-rcna183688
  17. As masurbatory as the 10 minute scene of Sheridan was, at least it was mildly entertaining with Bella Hadid riding horses. The central plot line about Jamie and Who Killed JR or whatever is cringy. The acting is some of the worst I've scene. It's like they're doing the first read but badly. Scene with Beth in the bar was entertaining as well. Never mind it's the second to last episode, was an hour and a half, and didn't advance the "plot" at all.
  18. Let's be honest. He's hot and therefore he has a greater that 0% of getting off on this, especially if youngish white women like Poppy are in the jury pool.

This is an entertaining watch but I can't tell you what the overall plot is.
  20. I've been told that the Constitution is chiseled in stone. If a Dem president came in and wanted to suspend the second amendment through executive actions, the R's would be screaming about a civil war. Trump wants to suspend the 14th and it's, oh well. There are at least two SC justices that will rule that the president has the right to suspend and amendment.
  21. Will be ironic if the shooter himself has terminal cancer or something and himself was denied potentially life saving treatment from UH. Jury decision will be interesting….
  22. What struck me was the reddit feed from someone who worked at United that even they weren't surprised.
