  1. But Durant insisted they do it much like Kawhi insisted the Clippers trade for Paul George. At least that made more sense than Beal. They should have just told Durant no.
  2. More KD drama again. Maybe he should admit he's a shitty GM and quit trying to arrange "super teams." I didn't realize how bad that Beal contract is. He's now 30 and hasn't played a full season since 2019 and he's under contract until 2027 when he'll make $57M. Good Lord.
  3. All the way up to 5 pm on Christmas Eve and he's spent the entire afternoon on Twitter. Kinds sad if you think about it:
  4. So, the poster child for the American right is fat, stupid, and mentally unstable? Perfecto.
  5. He was under a one year NIL contract and approached OU for more money. They got him what he wanted. He then went silent. A coach was driving by the dorm and saw him moving boxes. Coach asked what’s up. All he’d say is “talk to my dad.” Regardless of age, that’s a shitty way to handle a negotiation. Also, just the previous day, he was at practice and everything was fine. OU could sue for tampering if there were any guardrails to this. Hope it works out for the “child” and his dad but I suspect the dad will be omnipresent even in the NFL. I don’t agree with sandbagging the dad’s business but these guys are pro athletes now and the consequences are different.
  6. Too unstable for even a Marine Recruiter. (Never mind he's fat.) Nice:
  7. This guy is likely the same age as Wemby and Scott Henderson. If they stiffed a team and said "talk to my dad," the national media would roast him. They wouldn't defend the dad saying he was protecting "his child."
  8. Your 5 year old is not a pro athlete making millions per year. Talk about a retarded comparison..... Jesus. These guys can't both pro athletes making millions per year on one hand and "a child" on the other hand.
  9. He's also still figuring out the NBA game. Before this year, he hadn't played in almost a year and that was in college, which is largely garbage. He couldn't even go to the rim in college because Drew Timme could just stand in the paint with his arms in the air. I was at the same last night and I've seen him both against GS and Philly. He's a lot more aggressive now. He's starting to realize he can easily score on most other big men. He'll never put up big numbers on that team because of the other players. He won't be a volume scorer but a very efficient one. He'll average high teens with the occasional +30 point game. He'll prolly also be a good clutch shooter. They're already letting him take important shots and he's doing pretty well with those.
  10. For better or for worse, college sports is like pro sports now but with fewer guardrails. The kid's dad was acting as his effective agent and did not act in good faith. If Rich Paul or Kawhi's uncle owned a series of sports bars in their respective cities, then you can most definitely expect them to be boycotted after their respective players left, fair or not. We may not like it but that's the way it is now. In the "before times," you could say a college player doesn't owe anything to the fans but it's different now. Maybe the dad can get more money from Missouri to cover his losses. So, yeah, a player and his family are now pro athletes and they need to be worried about PR, just like pro athletes are. "His child" is now a professional athlete.
  11. In the post game, the Okie coach said Chet had never done that in practice. He just ad libbed it.
  12. His dad inserted himself into the process. When the OU coaches tried talking to him, he said "talk to my dad." If the dad doesn't want heat, then stay away from the fire.
  13. No, you didn't say that but that's the national media narrative. The conventional wisdom is this blue wave is moving to Texas from CA and that's not true at all. Just drive around the suburbs and look at all the fuckery.
  14. Liberals aren't moving from the coasts to Texas. They're right wingers moving from the Inland Empire to some far flung exurb like Melissa where they can park their F-350 in front of their cow pasture house and within two years fly a Texas flag from their treeless yard.
  15. Because no ownership group or fan base would let Presti or anyone else have total control. Presti had the leeway and trust to completely destroy a playoff team and tank on purpose for 2-3 years in order to rebuild. You think any other team (ownership and fans) in America would let that happen?
  16. Just looking at %. I've watched the Thunder for the last few years. I've seen enough purposeful tanking to last a lifetime. Wait until Wemby is out for the season with an "injury" and you're watching 1 potential started and 4 G league guys.
  17. I was wondering about Wemby. One of the knocks on his scouting report that he wasn't a great 3 point shooter and that's kind of played out so far. Is he just a bad shooter or will it even out over a season?
