  1. In the last five or ten years, the only animes I've watched and can remember the names are stuff like Psycho-Pass, Black Butler, Blue Exorcist, and the Seven Deadly Sins. I also watched the fan-dub end of Dragon Ball Super on YouTube a couple of years ago. And, of course, One Punch Man. No accounting for taste or qualify.
  2. Slower-than-light travel points to travel to the Unknown Regions. It was a plot point in Rebels. Sabine + Ahsoka + the child also point to the Unknown Regions.
  3. Saru is Spock/Data/Odo/7. He's trying to find his way in a fallen human world while upholding the dignity of the Federation.
  4. It doesn't advance the plot? 1. Mando is a wanted criminal to both the Imperial remnants and to the New Republic, even if his actions are understandable to the Republic. 2. Sublight travel exists and is used for purposes other than the hyperdrive being down. Probably a Rebels tie-in. 3. The New Republic isn't the Federation. They stopped to help, but left fixing the ship to Mando. And filler? This is an hour of the Child and fangirl squeeing. Shit, we saw that upthread: "Eat that egg, you little green bastard. Yeah. Yeah." Sploosh.
  5. The writers are still too episodic. This isn't the Brady Bunch. Characters conflicts can extend over more than one episode.
  6. When I got the mail today, there was a letter from UT for my son. They asked him to apply because the deadline for early decision or whatever is November 1st. (If he'd stayed in high school for four years he probably would have applied, because he has the grades, scores, and class rank, but he's trying to stay local because of his age.) Just a bit surprised at the last minute push by UT admissions.

    Nintendo Switch

A demo version of Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity was released.
  8. There's supposed to be 13 episodes. No matter what happens, it can't take that many episodes.

    Dexter

They did that with her character, Darla, on Buffy/Angel. Might seem derivative.
  10. It wasn't vintage, but it was consistently funny throughout most of the episode.
  11. The beginning and the end were very good. The middle was good, nothing bad, just expected exposition.
  12. It definitely finished a much better show than it started, somewhat similar to the arc of the Orville in season 1. Unfortunately, where the Orville became TNG with the occasional gag, LD remains too zany to truly be Trek. I suppose irreverence is better than full-on SJW, so we should count our blessings.
  13. They aren't just reps. They're navigators.
  14. 64 minute quarter. Just hope it doesn't go to OT.
  15. Back in 2005 or so, I got a used computer. It had been owned by Cullen Davis' wife. Looks like he had also used it, since they both had profiles on it. Tons of IE bookmarks for online painkillers and the like. A weird saved chat about how someone, "Knew everything." I pulled the old hard drive and swapped it out for a new one. Last I saw that old hard drive, it was sitting unused in a computer at my then-MIL's house. Who knows, it may still be there. She tends to hoard stuff.
  16. It's not surprising. We see this in real life, like with that punk that shot up the El Paso Walmart. The people who fall short of the archetype are often the most hateful.
  17. Looks like we were probably wrong.
  18. I'd think they make it more likely.
  19. It's possible. I've definitely had the same thought.
  20. There are many brace alternatives aside from Invisalign: Byte and FastBraces come to mind. Many cost less than $6k. Most won't work well if your kid's teeth are seriously messed up.
