Peptides and the glp-1s intrigue me. The longevity benefits creeping into the literature are what really gets me - neuroprotective, cardio-protective, etc. - apart from the weight loss aspects.
No matter what I do I can’t drop the 20 lbs I need to and obviously we all want faster recovery less muscle soreness and to fight effects of aging including sarcopenia and joint inflammation. Retatrutide looks like an amazing drug, triple agonist, current available treatments are not as comprehensive. I’m having a hard time understanding how it’s available yet in phase 3 trials but it’s out there supposedly. I’m pretty sure I may go on a low dose of one of them because that 20lbs is 90% visceral fat.
the other peptides are even more of a black box, most animal trials but the biochem logic is profound, increasing GH and other factors for muscle recovery, growth, repair, anti-inflammation, etc.
the revolution of healthcare toward preventative and new means of delivery like telehealth and platform based visits and prescriptions where consumers have almost total control is definitely something to behold.
I am not a scientist but my undergrad degree had a significant hard science component (chem, biochem, nutrition) so I’m pretty good at evaluation and this confluence of democratizing choice and access along with preventative and longevity choices is awesome but hard at times to navigate.
I feel like I just got a solid grasp on my supplement routine the last year after half assing it for a decade and now this peptide shit (including low dose glp-1) is popping up.
