I haven’t listened to all of it, but man I was not a fan of what I did hear.

And that is coming from a pretty big Jack White fan.

It’s better as a whole than my initial impression from the one time hearing the first single. I haven’t had a chance to listen to it more than once but I feel it will grow on me.

if that were the case the entire island would sink from the weight of all the venezuelans rushing there.  dealing with DIMAS is no different than dealing with USCIS.

There were a limited number of permits from my understanding so I'm sure the dude handing them out requested photos of tites or GTFO.

Am I doing it wrong in NOT ordering a Big Red with my BBQ?   Always gone with beer or iced tea.

Beer, ice tea, Big Red, RC, and Dr Pepper are all acceptable, IMO.

Wikipedia says Red Fang counts. Plus I needed a reason to post one of the greatest music videos ever.

I chatted with the drummer for a bit at one of their shows opening for Mastodon. Super nice guy.

Talking to James from White Denim one day, he told me  they have the same management company as Red Fang and that this video concept was offered to them first and they turned it down thinking it'd be lame.  He saw the final video and instantly regretted it.

We need to open our borders up to Venezuelan women. For 'humanitarian' reasons.

Last time I went to Aruba a lot of the wait staff were smoking Venezuelan women. One said they could easily get a 3-year work permit there so she, and probably all of them, was trying to wait it out.

Gottdam Cooter.  Do you have a job?

I say this out of jealously, not spite.

I have young kids so my wife puts them to bed and I go to shows. Unless we are bumping uglies that night, she likes to go to sleep before I get in bed so it’s a win-win for everybody.

  7. Lollapalooza '92 was my favorite festival. It completely changed my music tastes for good.

Nine Inch Nails with Marilyn Manson and the Jim Rose Circus opening was a perfect bill for that era so I have fond memories of it.

Butthole Surfers with Bad Livers and Don Walser was another that was memorable for the Austininess of it all.

L7 and Murder City Devils at Stubb's was a great show that was my intro to MCD who have been my favorite band ever since then.

For recent concerts, King Gizzard and Lizard Wizard at Mohawk was absolutely amazing. One of the highest energy shows I've been to in the last 20 years.

  9. Andy Ricker of Pok Pok will be making the wings at the Hot Luck Festival in April...if you're going, you should put a bug in his ear to open a Pok Pok here.

FRIDAY FOOD EVENT, MAY 25: Night Court

    Venue: Fair Market

Before internet! Take a trip back to your favorite mall food courts of yesteryear where our chefs will grace you with their takes on the gnarly bites you remember so fondly. P.S. phones allowed #hotluck #nightcourt

    The Lineup:
Chad Dolezal (The Hightower), Todd Duplechan (Lenoir), Bryce Gilmore (Odd Duck), Sarah McIntosh (Epicerie), Laura Sawicki (Launderette), Philip Speer (Bonhomie), Jason Stude (Boiler Nine), John Tesar (Knife), Justin Yu (Theodore Rex), Ivan Orkin (Ivan Ramen), Andy Ricker (Pok Pok), Joshua McFadden (Ava Gene) - Food and refreshments are included with ticket
  10. My first real concert was the Def Leppard Hysteria tour in Kansas City when I was 17. We were in Lawrence for the AAU Junior Olympics and met some local chicks who had tickets. We snuck away later that night with them, bought tickets from a scalper, saw the show.  Got to the hotel at around 2am and rawdogged the girls before never seeing them again.  If you were born in Lawrence in the spring of '91, your mom loves hair metal, and you don't know your dad, hi.

Do people still buy them?  Igloo is just as good and I don't mind throwing mine around.  I never got Yeti at all so I may not be the target audience.

My main sticking point is if a cooler is too valuable to leave unattended at a campsite or in the back of a truck, it is worthless.  As a result, I'd rather buy an Igloo that I don't care if it gets stolen.  The RTIC tumblers are perfect also.

Shit that stinks. Didn't hear about that about Joe Momma's

At the bottom of Blue Dome there was a seafood place called S&J or something. Joe Momma's is remodeling it and will be opening there.

  13. Unless it’s reopened, Joe Mommas burned down. It’s reopening but it hadn’t yet as of a few months ago.

The Tavern is very good, if pricey, higher end bar food. STG is excellent  pizza but they changed the concept a while back and I haven’t been since then. Prairie Ales is great for beer snobs. Food is solid.

You taking about Belize City right?- Ambergris Caye and Palencia are very safe.  I wouldn't wander around Belize City but there is no reason to anyway.

Belize City is terrible but the violence and murder rate in Ambergris Caye is pretty high as well. I follow the San Pedro Sun newspaper and Breaking Belize News on Facebook and the crime is crazy.
