Thinking about taking the family to Belize in May (6 and 7 yo girls). We want to fly in to Belize City, puddle jump to Placencia, and then ride to Sirenian Bay resort.

Has anyone stayed at Sirenian Bay (other than Norm) or heard of anyone staying there?

Is taking my 2 little girls to this country with the above itinerary a safe idea?

This thread has me pretty excited about trip.

My girls were 8 & 2 when we went in '14.  They survived.

Newsflash: most restaurants (and food trucks) do nothing to keep your food hot while waiting for a delivery person to show up, and many delivery people don't use insulated bags to keep it hot (or cold) while they drive the 20+ minutes to your house because you weren't paying attention and order from the wrong location instead of the one close to your house.

It's not just restaurants. At the beginning of COVID, I did a grocery order from Whole Foods and the raw chicken was room, or should I say trunk, temperature when it was delivered.

Why limit it to Texas?  Let all of rural America run away to be on their own.  Let's see how far they get.  Yes, getting food etc would be a bit of a struggle but with an economy that strong there would be plenty of money left over.  Handouts aren't as much poor America vs wealthy as it is rural vs urban.  Yes, I'm talking about tax dollars made in urban America that end up funding all kinds of shit in rural America...the rubes that hate handouts.  Hell, let's see how those farmers do without their 10's of billions in subsidies.

We would still be in the US so we would have access to CA and other states where 90% of our food comes from anyway.  We can let Texas pull up their bootstraps and subsist on the drought ridden farms of south Texas.

@UTexasFight @Mo Horn and anyone else....starting our planning for  July vaca here. With kids.

Namely, is Colombia falls best place to stay? Any specific hotels or cabins that are recommended?  We definitely need water as its all females but me.

Columbia Falls has gotten much nicer in the past decade.  It's added a bunch of restaurants and short term rentals in the past few years.  The general rule was Columbia Falls was working class, Whitefish was for rich people, and Kalispell for families. Honestly, staying in either of the other two only adds maybe 15 minutes to West Glacier and the main park entrance.  Whitefish definitely has the best restaurant selection of the 3 if that matters to you.  Whitefish Lake is right there in town also.

Yup, @slorch is right about small towns being centered on these schools. If/when the voucher system is passed then you'll see rural schools with less money but they'll still have football so what will it matter if they have to use outdated textbooks or the schools cycle through terrible teachers because they pay $40,000/year?

I guarantee you that the proposal will be to take even more money via Robin Hood and send to the rural districts.  Keep those voters happy and fuck the cities.

This.  They could agree on EVERY SINGLE substantive policy point.....but then they'll vomit out the same old "but....I can't vote for communistgungrabbersDEIcriticalracetheory!  So I gotta vote Republican!"

Policies don't matter.  Facts don't matter.  Issues don't matter.  It's 100% tribal at this point.  Rural Texas has chosen its tribe, and they will not betray it.  The price for betrayal is too high -- shunning, anger, even violence.

We had the perfect test case.  We literally murdered their children and Uvalde supported the GOP in record numbers.  How much worse can it possibly get before they vote DEM?

Man, as a loyal drinker that was the first thing that jumped out at me.  It's like Big Red, you can't get it past the Texas border much less Alaska. Is it a homage to Rust or a clue?

Lone Star paid for product placement.  The brother of the dead girl also had a Lone Star.  Texas beers love HBO. Shiner Bock had product placement in True Blood in every season.

please leave today, asap. do, don’t say. stop flapping your jaws and fucking leave you pussies

harris county decides to stay in the US as the New Texas. we’d be the 24th biggest state. Any other Texas county can join us

Think of the economic powerhouse the new Harris-Travis-Dallas-Tarrant-Bexar-El Paso state would be without rural Texas dragging it down.

  10. They are already taking over other industries. Avocados is one. Remember that you see a Karen ordering avocado toast. Also, Aquaculture, mining, logging, IT, etc. They ain't going away.

The cartel avocado industry has the best Super Bowl commercials!

When I was in a stall at work, the lawyer in the next stall was loudly talking to a client while taking a shit. When he hung up, he exclaimed “The only thing better than dropping a deuce on the company’s dime is billing a client for it.”
