Maybe the dumbest thing ever posted on this website

Not exactly a formidable argument.

Arch is looking to the other side of the field entirely dude

The dude thinks Arch should play running back lol

1. Maybe that's the problem and the point.

2. Hyperbole has a tough time on this board.

I like Lacey.. But you think his tiny ass is holding up an entire game if the line plays like it did in Gainesville?

What exactly is he on the team for? How many guys do we have on the bench that are too small to play? This is a real problem. Fire Sark!

I guess that's why Kyler Murray was such a failure.

I doubt Lacey is even nearly ready, but, if he was the best QB, he should absolutely get the start and would be righteously resentful if he did not.

One doesn't have to be an expert. So the passing concept on that play is called smash. A lot of coordinators run it with a hitch and a corner route like this. The idea behind this concept is that you are reading the outside corner. If he is up and pressing we are trying to attack the area in red. However, if the outside corner is protecting that area by giving cushion to the outside receiver we throws the stick route with the idea that if we put it on him immediately he can get to the sticks. This is what it looks like.

However, Sarkisian runs his like this. Instead of the inside receiver running a corner route, he runs a fade instead. The fade does two things. First, if the outside corner is playing up and the space behind him is vacated, the fade release gives the QB the opportunity to let it go immediately. The other thing it does is, if the outside corner is playing off, and the ball is thrown properly, all the receiver has to do is release inside after the catch and it naturally puts Wingo between him and his defender. This is how it looks below.

Screenshot(17).thumb.jpg.d85938b19523566da9bb6ce2879538fd.jpg

So now that we know that let's look at the play again. We start out in 3x1 with the single to the boundary.

Arch motions the man out of the backfield and a defender goes with him. Now I want you to pay attention to where that man came from. That is 6"2.5 244lb sophomore inside linebacker Aaron Chiles Jr, who should starts btw.

Now you've forced Florida to declare man coverage. Remember what we said the read was. If the corner is pressing you throw the fade. If the corner is playing off we throw the stop route. Look at the corner below. Playing off right? Now Arch has all the information he needs for what to do. PLUS, he has a 244lb linebacker on Tre Wisner. Look at him shaking. Ten yards off the ball. That is a QB's dream. But if you are listening to Codexx. This play is dead in the water.

Again, if this ball is out here that LB is grabbing at ankles by the time he recovers. He breaks his route down 3 yards from the sticks and ole buddy is still 6-7 yards off in coverage. One doesn't have to be an expert. One simply has to have common sense.

That play is dead. See the Cb sitting flat footed 2 yards behind the 1st down maker. WR is breaking off and coming back to the Qb 3 yards short of the sticks. He is going to cover the that ground easily. Wingo does not touch the DB on the pick and he cannot touch the DB as it would be offensive PI. You may have an argument, if the comeback was past the sticks or the NB was a Surly poster and not a legit D1 athlete. I am guessing you are a big GDGD fan, based on your idea that a 5 yard stop route is a winning play on 3rd and 8..

The national media humiliated themselves by setting up this huge story of another Manning entering the game and taking over college football

Humiliated??? Nah

clicks when you build em up and clicks when you tear them down brah

Damn you for making me keep reconsidering that word choice.  You're right. Humiliation requires self-awareness which is rare among sports media types. They made fools of themselves is more apt as one needn't be aware of it for it to be true.

That leads me to sportswriters make fools of themselves which is about as noteworthy as a dog shitting in the yard.

Okay, I can check one thing off my obsession list.

You're right about the rest, of course.

“Arch Manning is going to be the No. 1 pick in the 2027 NFL Draft,” Orlovsky said. “I’ve never felt better about that than watching this past week… He’s custom-made for the NFL game.”

“Let’s be very clear about Texas,” Orlovsky said. “It’s probably as big of a roster whiff as we’ve had in years. It’s arguably the worst offensive line in the SEC. They don’t have a tailback who’s a difference maker right now. Their best receiver is a redshirt freshman named Parker Livingstone. This is not a very good football team.”

You keep pretending that playing another quarterback is a reasonable position to take and that we should treat those moronic opinions reasonably. Here’s the options at QB… 1) Arch 2) a guy who went 3-7 at Troy 3) a true freshman that weighs 180 lbs.

Just stop.

I dont think a different QB is completely unreasonable opinion. We dont know if another QB would do better. I happen to agree with you that any QB put in this offense right now is being set up for failure. Until the blocking improves, this offense is just going to be bad.

A different qb might not be unreasonable but a different one on this roster is.

Worried Arch will get ruined behind this OL. I cannot imagine the damage playing behind this OL would do to Lacey.

I would agree with most of that.  Not sure about the No.1 pick but I do think I finally saw what I had hoped to see the first week.  I feel much better about Arch.

Our OL and RB recruiting look like a bunch of whiffs.  RB is more of a shocker to me, there isn't a difference maker in the entire group.

Sark's inability to adjust the gameplan causes us to lose some very important games. He went into the game planning to have Arch drop as many bombs as possible. He didn't adjust to a short and quick passing game when the OL was playing like swiss cheese. Why he can't recognize what's happening on the filed and adjust is beyond me.
