Oh I totally agree with you that everyone should be playing under one roof. Rahm cashing checks then showing up four times a year to play decent golf and spinning a Ryder Cup domination creates one confusing legacy for a guy who could be an all timer

And yes. Keegan should be skewered on the shit he can actually control. He ultimately had 23 decisions (6 picks, 16 pairings, 1 singles order) and has fucked up at least half of them

American golf is in bad shape right now outside of Scottie.

BDC and Xander are probably the next two guys. After that, things get ugly and murky. Morikawa and Koepka have faded, Spieth and DJ are cooked, JT is wildly inconsistent. Lots of guys have flashed but not found consistency. No young guns showings serious potential yet. It sucks.

What we need is an extremely visible and wildly popular guy who has an oversized social media reach to try and cater the game towards fans and amateurs and beginner players and kids in hopes of sparking the next generation of golf in America.

Oh. Wait.

Sorry. I'm not trying to be a cunt. All of the bullshit I've had to read the last couple days has gotten to me a bit.

I think US golf is fine. We swept the majors a year ago. This was a really poor showing for myriad reasons.

The goal now is to take some notes and learn from mistakes and go steal one in '27 for the first time in 34 years.

A Scottie, Xander, BDC, Cantlay, Cam, JT, Morikawa core is still relatively young and, if in decent form, going to be competitive in this event for the foreseeable future.  Xander had a significant injury (and then just had a kid) which turned this year into a lost one, JT hasn’t been right in two years but showed flashes in the spring, and Morikawa is wildly talented but went off the damn rails for whatever reason this season.

That’s half the team, so I don’t think it’s dire. But I agree the secondary guys are a big question mark right now. Spaun seems like he can hang and then contribute for another cycle. But those last four spots are totally up for grabs in ‘27.
