  1. That this organization petitioned to silence another organization is irrelevant. I generally disagree with that approach, but they didn’t waive their own right to free speech by advocating that another group should be silenced.
  2. Oh I’m quite capable of realizing Sack is full of shit without going to all that trouble.
  3. Lolz. “Academia.” Hartzell taught bean counting.
  4. This legitimately brand new poster sure studied up on the rules before joining this site for what was surely the first time!
  5. I would respond “I also prayed about this last night and God told me he was just fucking with you.”
  6. You’re not answering the question. Someone at UT had to tell those fucksticks what was about to happen. Abbott didn’t divine it himself.
  7. And how did those three catch wind of the plans of a UT student organization?
  8. Thats what I’m saying. You’re fucked either way, Jay. Why not grow a pair and stand up for what’s right, rather than carry water for authoritarian shitbags?
  9. Or Hartzell could grow a pair and speak up in defense of his students.
  10. That message from Hartzell is fascist horseshit.
  11. And if there’s any group that uniformly opposes antisemites, it’s MAGA Republicans.
  12. My only regret is I have only one “fuck you” reaction emoji to give.
  13. Did he issue that today? Or is it just an empty platitude he previously uttered?
  14. Well that is certainly a surprising and unprecedented turn of events!
  15. In recent years, I have grown more and more ashamed of my affiliation with the University of Texas. Today did not help.
  16. I do agree that “feel-good pee pee sex” sounds pretty gay.
  17. Hamas flags are the new terrorist fist bump?
  18. What precisely do you think is going on? All accounts I’ve seen so far have indicated that the protests at Columbia, Yale, etc. have been peaceful.
  19. On a more global note, this movement has real potential to impact the election. College students should be Biden’s bread and butter. In 2020, exit polls showed Biden won 18-29 year olds at a clip of 60-36. And I found one pre-election poll that showed college students preferred Biden over Trump 70-18. But this Israel-Palestine issue could erode Biden’s support in this demographic. I doubt it would shift votes to Trump, but it might shift them to some whack job like Kennedy.
  20. Yeah I’m not talking about the practicality of the overall concept which, as I understand it, is to use idling EVs to provide computational capacity for AI. I'm asking specifically about the terminology he used. “Kilowatts” does not seem like an appropriate unit for computational capacity. Seems like that should be expressed in flops. But I’m not a computer engineer.
