Let me preface this by saying nothing you said here is wrong Stache.
So I have the pleasure of having a father in law who mainlines Fox. Shit is always on in the background. So I hear the stuff they broadcast. They either don't cover the things you outlined or spin whatever is "spinnable". Now my father in law is highly educated, and so the worst kind of Republican. However, the majority of people out there have no idea what the law actually says. They DO think the president has the power to make decisions. They are told that the judges are wrongly prohibiting the President's ability to do his job and get these filthy criminals and rapists out of OUR country. They WEREN'T paying attention in Civics class. When you have dialogue with them this is completely obvious. So if we aren't having any dialogue with them, they have no education of the subject matter, and their go to source for information is lying to them, how are they to learn? It is absolutely exhausting to engage them in conversation, but it must be done.
The general consensus here is that Dems mustn't concede online spaces, and we are critical of them for not fighting the good fight. Yet here we are unwilling to take on difficult dialogue with right wingers in our own lives. The fight starts at the grass roots level. We need to be willing to not neg bomb anyone coming here with a difference of opinion because that discourages discourse.
