  1. Okay - part two of my first Oktoberfest experience - so we get back to the penthouse after the schnapps. My GF at the time was a total babe. My friend , AKA 'Donkey Dong' always wanted to do a 3 way with her, which wasn't going to happen. Imagine our surprise, and her terror, when he jumps through the window into our room, buck naked, raging hard-on and all.... GF runs to the bathroom and locks her self in. I go to the window to see how he got in the room. There's an 8" wide ledge on the building below the window, 8 stories above the street. Had to go around the corner of the building to get to our window on the ledge . Raging hard-on. Shit faced. We were kinda drunk. Don't know how he did it.
  2. Yes, Wengen is awesome. I just have an emotional attachment to a hotel in Grindelwald, have been staying there for four decades. Room with a familiar view...
  3. I feel that all of Switzerland is stunning.....so much so, when going back to Europe, I find it hard not to go straight back to Grindelwald.
  4. Had to google it...sounds good, and it couldn't have been any worse than the kerosene like schnapps we had. Just put strawberries on the shopping list . Sparkling water? Edit: First recipe i saw had water, just re-googled it to see it has sparkling wine...sounds very dangerous..
  5. Garmisch has grown so much it's no longer the cool little village...I hardly recognized it. Go further into the hills to Mittenwald. Very nice little town with plenty of hiking ops. Oktoberfest - Heading there for the first time, a friend called me from California to say he and his GF were flying into Munich the next day, and told me to get rooms. A tall order. Could only snag a penthouse at considerable expense, 3 night minimum. Typical first timer story - shit faced by early afternoon, but made a strong, possibly chemically induced comeback. Was disappointed at the early last call, so on the way back to the penthouse stopped at a bar and drank several rounds of apple schnapps, which has little resemblance to the girly stuff available here. Woke up the next day so poisoned from drink, we walked on the remaining two nights in the room, took the train up to Garmisch, checked into a spa and spent the next 24 hours steaming the poisons out...
  6. I'm thinking' $ 100K of the missing funds went up his nose...
  7. Come on...those laws don't apply to this administration....
  8. Jeez....out here we get Maker's 46 and sometimes Angel Envy....best they ever had, and it's gone now, was Bookers.
  9. Bronco started with a 289, went to the 302 in '71, I think.
  10. Where the hell is all this special reserve coming from?
  11. Dude certainly looks like Frankie in profile...
  12. Too late....that's what UCLA is....
  13. Yes Chaco is better...but it's a hell of a lot more difficult to access. Long (13, 20, or 33 miles, depends which way you go) bumpy rough dirt road. No walk in the park. It's really nice to be able to spend the night there.
  14. This ^^^^^^ We stopped here on our way back to our rental in SF one night. Maybe the best food we had in our week in Santa Fe. Drove back for dinner the next night.
  15. Pence is dirty...he's going down too...
  16. Yup, we ride our bikes to Lucky Baldwins so we don't have to deal with the lovely Sierra Madre's finest on the way home. Problem with Lucky's is they have so much heavy beer, it's more of a Fall/Winter thing for us. Kind of tough drinking a Belgian triple when it's 90 plus degrees out. Total Wine charged $56.95, minus the $10 coupon for the new store opening. Came home, got the wife, dove into my neighbors recycling for her $10 coupon (this should probably be in the "cheap" forum)(it was trash day) and went back and got another bottle. Blanton's is my fave. I was up in Folsom dealing with my mom's estate and the little market had a full shelf of it, and didn't bat an eye when I bought 10.
  17. Given how much of a threat Schneiderman is to Trumps presidency, I find the timing of these charges interesting...
  18. Yeah, I go to Mission. Bought 4 bottles of Blanton's at $ 85 per, I think. Supply and demand, I understand it. It tastes a little better at $ 56.95, though. There's a small liquor store In East LA where I buy my Cuervo La Familia for $99, I've never looked at their bourbon prices. I live in Sierra Madre.
  19. Total Wine opened near me, too. Asked if they had any Blanton's, there was none on the shelf....Oh yeah, we've got 6 cases in back. They would only sell me a bottle, but I wonder what else is "in Back"?
  20. Furka Pass....there's actually a plaque marking the spot.
  21. Bring your booze. Some of the Costcos have zero alcohol. Nine mile canyon has a lot of Native American art.
  22. Yeah, I just want to post off of my desktop. and I'm technically handicapped...how do I get an "existing attachment"?
  23. The west...Snake, Green , Sacto and the Fall.
