  1. I think we'll be fine. This Hookfin dude supposedly has a ton of upside. Sam Cosmi 2.0.
  2. That one good season from Aranda last year includes a Big 12 championship and is better than anything we've put together since 2009.
  3. It's frustrating watching Baylor knock it out of the park on two straight hires with Rhule and Aranda while we continue to flounder under Strong, Herman, and now Sark. Even LSU wasn't playing around and paid top $ for a proven winner in Brian Kelly, while we went dumpster diving for Seven Loss Steve.
  4. One time in Ireland I convinced my 18 month old son that quiche was Mac and cheese and he ate it. So this hits close to home.

  6. Going back to the original point of what happens when normal people get priced out. I've seen what happened to SF when the nerds took over and ripped the soul out of the City. Started with the Google and Facebook buses, then quickly the Mission turned, and then other neighborhoods followed. It does feel as though Austin is kind of teetering along those same lines where the demographics are turning homogenous.
  7. Sounds like a done deal for Jai Ho. No other visits planned, focused on keeping GPA eligible. https://247sports.com/Article/Alabama-transfer-WR-Agiye-Hall-loved-Texas-Longhorns-visit--186415442/
  8. Mortgage rates have now eclipsed 5% which should drive some stabilization both from a buyer and seller perspective. This is from Redfin this AM: "We expect the combination of surging mortgage rates and record-high home prices to cause more homebuyers to drop out of the market. Unfortunately, homeowners are turning their back on the market too. Instead of being motivated to list before prices weaken, potential home sellers may be choosing to wait-out the impending market cooldown.” https://investors.redfin.com/news-events/press-releases/detail/703/redfin-reports-home-sales-fell-4-in-march-as-buying-costs
  9. Those numbers are not correct. In most Chicago suburbs you're paying $17-18k or so on a $750k house + 5% state income tax. So Austin and Houston still come our way ahead
  10. Still a great value. National median home price is $405K. Add in no state income tax and a desirable Central Texas location, Austin is still a great value relative to most metro areas like Chicago, Bay Area, Northern VA, Seattle, Portland, Denver, etc.
  11. I wouldn't call it a crisis. Plenty of cheap homes in the suburbs at $500k.
  12. Ewers will be the Cheeze It Bowl MVP winner this year
  13. I think it was the West Virginia game where we didn't even get a first down until like midway through the 2nd quarter
  14. I hope our staff was upfront that he would have to unseat incumbent returning letterman, Jett Bush.
  15. I went to Catch in Jan. Great selection of sushi, seafood, wagyu etc. Everything was great. Good ambiance but definitely loud.

    London

So bunch of trashy tourists and fats on the Eye?
  17. Trying to tack on a 2nd city for a London trip this August with my kids (4 and 2). Been to most of the other major cities but thinking Budapest, Berlin, or Edinburgh for this one. Feels like Budapest by a mile?
  18. Coleman whiffed on just about every WR we offered last year. Jai Ho falling into our laps would be a godsend.
  19. It's out in the open now. We either play the game or fall further behind the competition.
