She spent much of the week at her half brother’s place in Allandale.

Got on 2 houses (prior customer) near Laird & Brentwood...

Roofs are toasted.  The headache for both is those cottage houses are being torn down & larger, updated houses are going in, homeowners in the smaller houses are uncertain about what to do if a damaged roof can hold out for even 2 years without a serious leak & they might end up selling.

    🤔

  2. I'm out of town. How did things fare in the Cherry Creek area of South Austin?
Got on the roof for Open Range Trail / 78749.
Old 3 Tab in serious need of replacing - nary a ding.  Doubt anyone else in the area got hit serious enough.
We did a total chimney rebuild around 1 year ago; rotten Masonite was a mess.  Cap + cricket & all the paint.
Now... if anyone of yall has a house near Marble Falls or Horseshoe Bay, let's talk.

  3. If it hits anywhere near Houston, it won't come anywhere near Austin. They need to hit the Texas coast between Corpus and SPI to get to the Austin area.
I'm not a fan of hurricanes (Sharpies tracking or not)... roo much destruction.
If a tropical storm were to make it within range of Austin & knock around some roofs that were in the last 15% of the expected life span, THAT would be optimal except for the influx of chasers (& if a TS in this area, a huriricane would have gone through San Antonio & the majority of salesholes would go there).
I don't want widespread damage... just gimme 2 additional houses per week.

Last I have seen, nothing morenthan rain.

I need to do a measurement not far SE from Convict Hill & Escarpment, doubt I will see much.

@landman, I can swing your area easy if you would like an assist.  Didn't you provide me with some Rodeo Austin Founder's tickets years ago?

We got about 10 minutes of hail at Balcones and 2222. Not quite golfball but bigger than I had seen in years. I was worried my skylights were about to crack. Loud as shit.

    Bubble ("domed") or flat?

If flat, it is probably Velux & that branf is s solid product.  Gonna Thame more Eggman that to cause damage to the skylight however that size is def.  large enough to cause shingle damage.

no hail yet in 78728, thank the Lord.

2× in 1 year wouldn't hurt my feelers.

Radar is lighting the fuck up right now.

Wife sent ne a nessage about baseball sized shots tracking from Horseshoe Bay ------> Marble Falls.

If it follows that line, NNE, above Leanderthal is in track.

We just completed a smaller project in Sunrise Beach... might have been smacked on a 1 week old roof

I think the Connie is the most beautiful multi engine aircraft of all time. Prove me wrong.

Didn't include these earlier as it was a slow load via phone.

That paint scheme on the side helps to incentive the notion of "curvature" or an arch  to the fuselage.

& FWIW, I'm a fan of the DC-3, chrome.  None onsite.

  8. Well... that was interesting.

Probably saved myself $ 375++ (field call) AND I guarantee he won't tell anyone what happened however the other horse didn't seem to mind watching.  Freak.

Keep in mind on size that the nickel piece is flat... this wasn't.

My personal liability umbrella policy has tripled in 3 years. Paid less than $1k for $3M coverage in 2020. Renewal for same coverage this year is $3400.  I am told there are only two carriers writing policies in Fl for personal liability umbrella.

Are you seeing similar is Texas?

Where in Florida & what profession?

  10. Shane Smith & the Saints, released "Norther" around 1 month ago.

Gonna do their 2nd Red Rocks show in approx. 1 month & maybe 10 days ago played 3 songs on the Grand Ole Opry.

Never really was a Kiss fan or Ace fan, but I found this surprisingly listenable. Possibly because there' so little decent rock out there these days, but it's pretty toe-tappin'.

Did I just hear the word "souffle' " used in a hard rock song?

  13. Bandit is gonna cost me some dollars.

(Trying to put the sheath pic in a "Spoiler" but I'm using the Surly app & not certain if it is working)

    Bandit

    20240403_222145.thumb.jpg.4ec04df9b5795aaf9b2c4254b28e4e4d.jpg

has an engorged sheath & this is obv. a field call for the vet.

Will be either Sunset Canyon on 290 or Audtin Equine on FM 150.

Added hassles, we just had a water heater blowout (could have cost $ 3,600 but through some Shag² connections it was *only* $ 1,700.⁰⁰

I cut my L index finger a week ago & finally got a doc visit in today; 5 or 6 days from now we should get the culture back to see what specific infection I have... got a lump of an antibiotic shot in my R hip + a week's worth of Rx's to take (Q12 for one & Q6 for the other).  Numb & throbbing goes up past my wrist.

    20240403_155659.jpg

The hits keep coming... I'm gonna have tears of joy if Bandit's issues cost less than $ 500.⁰⁰
