  1. And don't forget the Muslims. Laura Ingraham lives in the same echo chamber as the 40%+ that voted for DOTUS. Totally brainwashed.
  2. To me, a big part of the consolidation of power is building a political machine in DC that will crush any opposition to the status quo. The Squad hasn't passed any substantive legislation that I'm aware of, but the machine is preparing to grind them to powder if possible. The machine will do the same to freshman Rs that wander off the beaten path.
  3. Wouldn't be surprising if Trump is also physically afraid of Lieu.
  4. The I Got Mine scourge is one of the most destructive parts of America. The Ds and Rs could come together and solve important problems facing our country -- healthcare, prescription drugs, immigration, cyber security, sensible spending, cutting back on spending, etc. These problems are not intractable. It's almost like they want to keep everyday Americans' problems right where they are -- no fixes. For whatever reasons, they can't do it. They are beholden to things besides Americans. They make decisions to please lobbyists (representing the 0.01%), consolidate their power in DC, avoid consequences of kompromat (financial, extramarital, etc), and stay in Trump's good graces.
  5. Saw him on Amanpour (PBS) last night. 18:00 mark.
  6. Somewhere Al Franken chuckles. ^ The message for Limbaugh has always been to make sure you're on the right team. The Rs. The top 1% may have a disproportionate amount of the wealth, but we're all in this together, bro. You're gonna bootstrap it, and pretty soon you'll be at the top of the pyramid too! In the meantime, hold tight to those conservative values of small govt, trickle down, and low taxes. Together we'll fight against Socialism in all its forms. 2016 rolls around. About that land of opportunity stuff, you did understand that I was never talking about brown people or Muslims, right?
  7. Like Jack Straw said a few pages back, it won't just be the normal election variables. Trump and co. will be pulling every dirty trick in the book and then some, and the Russians will be interfering in fun, new ways in our election. Trump won't do anything to stop that.
  8. I like Ted's fire. We need fewer tweets and more indictments.
  9. Besides fear, the myth that everything is binary in DC is one of the great falsehoods that Rush has drilled into his listeners. "See, this is why you don't elect Ds to Congress. Radicals like the Four will pass all kinds of draconian legislation. If they get more of their kind in there, they will undo everything that we've built here. " There is no middle ground. There is no working across the aisle to craft legislation that lines up with the average American. If you put all of Congress in one room and had them hash out legislation for something important (e.g. healthcare), there would be some far left and far right ideas. And some in the middle. Ultimately, a happy medium could be found. /pollyanna There are major issues in our country that affect us all, and they require attention. They are solvable, but Congress is at a standstill. The Ds pass legislation that sits in Turtle's inbox like so much toilet paper. The Ds say they are getting things done, but there are very few visible results.
  10. The attacks against the Four, and Omar in particular, are egregious enough on their own. If you think about it, his vitriol toward Omar is equally about hatred directed at her constituents. Implicit in the rallies is that 50% of Americans aren't real Americans, and Trump is not the president of every American.
  11. I mean, look at this psycho
  12. He's morphing into Richard Nixon.
  13. Look at this asshole. He's thinking, "blah blah blah, please stop talking!"
  14. I don't agree. Receiving help from the Russkies, obstructing the resultant investigation, and, as an aside, pretending that Russian interference never happened (Helsinki) would have resulted in removal of any recent president.
  15. Another factor along those lines is the fact that the average mom and dad in the US often don't have time to research Donald Trump's past. Most in here are pretty politically aware, and Cheeto has long resume of being a racist asshole who sucks at business. His record with respecting women is also horrible. So, admittedly, it's hard to see how people don't know his character, esp after the Access Hollywood tape. I'm sure Rush had an excuse for that. With work, kids, etc., a lot of people don't have time. They'll listen to Rush during the day and Fox at night, and make their decision based on that.
  16. There is no debate in DC. You disagree and touch on what the Rs regard as the third rails of 2019 politics? Things like Israel. You are a vile, disgusting, anti-Semitic, anti-American who should go back where you came from.
  17. People with terrible and terminal 9/11 illnesses should not have to travel hat in hand to Congress to beg for money. Assholes in DC.
  18. He's learned well from his master. Cruelty to subordinates is fun and profitable for Rs.
  19. Amen. This shit ain't rocket science. It's 20 years since 9/11. We know how much it's going to cost to support fellow Americans who stood up when America needed them. Allocate $100M per year +5% or whatever the average cost has been. Allow for inflation and provide opportunities for reappraisal each year. Dammit.
