  1. There's probably a better way to put it, but people are energized b/c AOC's ideas are aimed at fixing a problem. They're big ideas. Rs will complain that they're Socialist and far left. Instead of looking at that as a deal breaker, maybe members of Congress on both sides could look at it as a starting point? It seems like Rs and Ds in Congress don't even communicate with each other anymore.

  3. This is how I imagine things go in DOTUS' bedroom every night. Trump is often the puppet to advance the agendas of others. Putin has some level of control over him. Manafort's criminal proclivities got to spread their wings during the campaign. Bannon armed him with a few buzzwords like Build the Wall, and he got elected. Stephen Miller has disturbing ideas about immigration, and Trump puts those into action, with the side benefit that it's red meat for the 40%. Talk show hosts with political aspirations become confidants of Cheeto, and he implements their opinions on foreign policy.
  4. Imagine spending 1 second of your week worrying about it. Berkeley is liberal. Water is wet.
  5. Imagine how a R congressman would have acted while questioning the head of a dept. that circulated vile memes of him. She handled it beautifully.

  7. He's counting on the 12th man -- the Russkies.
  8. Yes. I was more thinking about people's favorite actors, or the biggest stars, for the last 30 years. Hanks is more of the everyman, but Cruise is right there as a star. I personally like Hanks better as an actor, but I like them both.
  9. He and Hanks would be at the top for the last 30 years. Equally big stars, just in different ways. Who else would rival them on that list?
  10. If the USA survives, The Squad and their generation will be running things before long. I hope that many women are the replacements for the old, white men. Let's see how they do. Old, white guys have had their time.
  11. Aunt Nancy doesn't have the energy or the desire (or both) to run 40 minutes of hell. She's shown that.
  12. Rudy sighting on Hannity. Hannity says Saudis have joined a coalition that wasn't possible 5 years ago.
  13. Yep. Said he was open to mending fences, but not really expecting it. Seemed at peace with it while owning up to being an ass in the past.
  14. Imagine if one of us had misled Congress like Hicks, allegedly, and Barr.
  15. Clinton with Ghislane
  16. Far and Away is pretty good iirc. Been a long time since I've seen it. Maybe not Oscar material, but enjoyable. Ron Howard film with young Cruise/Kidman.
  17. Risky Business is also a great movie if any younger Surleys haven't seen it.
  18. Not that it was perfect, but people of opposing views used to be able to voice their ire and their differences on shows like Crossfire. And more civil shows (maybe?) like McLaughlin Group. I saw it in the later years, so they may have yelled and screamed in their youth. We're all Americans. You can get together on a debate stage, or in an interview, or wherever and discuss ideological differences like human beings.
  19. Pretty objective.
  20. I remember reading that he probably could have played professional pool thanks to his prep for Color of Money. Had a table in his apartment, and played hours and hours each day.
  21. It's whoever he hears last. Hopefully he falls asleep before Hannity, if he's still pro-war.
